Chelios faces a Chinese mobster who has stolen his nearly indestructible heart and replaced it with a battery-powered ticker that requires regular jolts of electricity to keep working.
Chev Chelios survives a fall from the sky, sort of. He&#39;s in an unknown location, sedated, while various Chinese are harvesting his organs. His heart is gone, in an ice chest; a temporary in its place. Chev escapes, knowing only the name of the guy with the ice chest. He calls Doc Miles, an unlicensed cardiologist, who tells him there&#39;s only an hour&#39;s life in the artificial heart: keep it charged. Chev needs to find his own heart and get to Doc for a transplant. He starts his time-limited pursuit of shadowy figures, the ice chest, and his heart aided by Eve, Rei, and Venus - a stripper, a prostitute, and a pal with Tourette&#39;s - constantly needing an electric charge to keep going.
First off I have to say I loved the first film, and almost exploded in my pants when I found out there was going to be a sequel.<br/><br/>This film is balls out, to the wall, and in your face! Nuff said! Jason Stathom is perfect in this film. No one else in the world could play Chev like Jason, he is the man. The film itself is one of the few movies coming to the big screen that doesn&#39;t suck a fat one. The action was superb and shot amazingly well, and I mean Amazing. If you are just a fan of action and the fast paced cinematography of those films, you need to see this film just for that reason. It is perfectly compromised with longer shots and fast paced cuts. You will just have to see it for yourself. Crank basically takes everyone who takes themselves seriously and slaps them in the face. So a lot of people will not like this film for those reasons.<br/><br/>Go see this movie!
I am personally not a fan of the action genre and Statham&#39;s outing in the Transporter films didn&#39;t seem change this. After watching Crank a couple of years back however, I was nicely surprised; some great cinematography, brilliant action set pieces and a great pace which doesn&#39;t seem to slow even in the scenes where it should do (namely the raunchy sex scene in the middle of Chinatown). Crank: High Voltage picks up straight after Crank, Chev Chelios (Statham) has been scooped up, loaded into a van and wakes up three months later to find his &quot;Strawberry Tart&quot; (his heart as subtitled in the film) has been replaced by an electric one and he must keep it charged to stay alive. A high octane pursuit for revenge and truth ensues as Chelios runs riot round the streets of LA and finds more inventive ways of keeping charged with the help of &quot;Doc&quot; (Dwight Yoakam), including a hilarious sex scene generating static electricity.<br/><br/>There are nods to the first film but they are shown in flashbacks and are not vital to the plot of the second, and anyway this isn&#39;t the film to watch if you are looking for a developed plot line, it&#39;s about Statham kicking arse and that he does. Statham is in top form physically and does a great job playing the rage fuelled cockney which is simply just fun to watch.<br/><br/>A brilliant film to watch with mates, and I say mates because the film at times contains some cringe worth violence and plenty of nudity. Overall this an adrenaline charged riot and a must for any action junkie
In Crank: High Voltage, Statham just looks miserable, as if appearing in this lousy picture just sucked all the heart right out of him.
Crank: High Voltage is an action-thriller written by film-makers Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, who also co-directed the film. It is a sequel to <a href="/title/tt0479884/">Crank (2006)</a> (2006). Crank: High Voltage picks up immediately where the first one finishes, there is a three month gap, and then the film continues, Chev (<a href="/name/nm0005458/">Jason Statham</a>) falls out of a helicopter. At the beginning of Crank: High Voltage, it shows Chev being removed from the scene by a snow shovel. He then wakes up in the hospital, after having his heart transplanted. Whatever it be, it&#39;s a MacGuffin, an object used to thrust forward a story but often never identified. The leaves the actual interpretation of the item in the film to the viewer. The way Chev Chelios describes the unknown object that&#39;s inside the box after he opens it suggests that it&#39;s something very disgusting, e.g., an illegal drug, somebody&#39;s body part or possibly something pornographic. During the first part of the credits, Doc Miles places Chev&#39;s heart back in (although we don&#39;t see what he does with Poon Dong) while Eve watches (due to the fire, Chev is covered in full-body bandages). At first, it looks like a failure, but after everyone leaves, Chev&#39;s eyes open, and his heart is heard beating. In addition, there are several bloopers shown after the credits begin.  a5c7b9f00b
