  1. You won’t believe the amount Reima Kuisla was charged for speeding

  3. Born in 1953, Reima Kuisla is a businessman and an investor who gained a lot of his wealth by betting on horses. At the very beginning of his career, Reima Kuisla was able to sell his insurance and bet successfully on horses, which made him incredibly wealthy. In 1990, he was able to make an even bigger profit by selling electronics and phones in different stores.
  4. He is known to have over 20 horses in North America, Sweden, Finland, and Germany, together with some of his partners. Reima Kuisla also owns the Koikkalan estate, and his racehorse company is called Reima Oy Kuisla Stable. With this, it is easy to call him the most successful horse betting competitor to have ever competed in the 1998 and 2006 Etain Royal horse betting race.
  5. Because of his huge success, he was able to make his own riches, and today he is known to be quite wealthy. However, we all know that wealthy people do not pay that much attention to the surroundings, and neither did Reima Kuisla. Usually, when you drive in Finland they will calculate your speeding tickets by linking them to your income. This way the penalties are much bigger for those who are rich than for those who are poor.
  6. While it is fun to have loads of money that you can spend on random items that you do not really need, you still need to be careful while driving in traffic. Once you get into a car crash, you might not be the only one who is in danger, which is why the police from Finland have made it so. On March 2nd, Reima Kuisla was caught on a road where the speed limit is 80km/h (50mph), speeding by doing 103km/h (64mph). That is quite an overstep which is why the Finland police did not give him a break.
  7. They soon turned to the 2013 tax return, just to be able to see how much is his net worth. After realizing that Reima Kuisla earns about 6.5 million euros, (£4.72m), they were forced to give him a speeding ticket for about 54k euros. While this does not hurt his pocket, it does hurt his pride: “If somebody would have told me that this is the amount a person will have to pay for a merely speeding ticket, I would have been surprised. I never thought that I would want to move out of my own country” Reima Kuisla stated on his Facebook page.
  8. After a bit, he added: “Finland is one of the worst countries to live in if you are rich”, which is an actual true statement. The law is very strict against the ones with a lot of money, and for no reason. The wealthy people are not known to be the ones causing accidents in traffic, which is why they should probably change it. Overall, Reima Kuisla is still stuck with a huge fine that he needs to pay, or he will be taken into custody.
