  1. Here is a statement the Host can read from time to time:
  2. "This is the 'RTA In Japan' marathon. The first large-scale, live speedrunning marathon in Japan. You are watching the English-language restream hosted here on twitch.tv/SpeedGaming. The SpeedGaming channel also hosts a variety of speedrun events, marathons, and tournaments. So please follow this channel and follow the runner(s)."
  3.
  4. Please be in the discord at least 20 minutes before your shift is supposed to start so we can get you set up and sound-checked. The marathon might be ahead or behind, so try to pay attention to the stream to see if it's on schedule or not.
  5.
  6. You'll watch the Japanese stream at http://twitch.tv/rtainjapan . Your commentary should be in sync with the gameplay since the restreamer is capturing from the same stream that you're watching. If it seems like you're falling behind, try refreshing the stream. If it seems like you're ahead (chat is saying "spoilers") then ask the restreamer to refresh their stream.
  7.
  8. If your microphone is too quiet please follow these instructions: http://pastebin.com/vcinCs1m
  9.
  10. If you need help testing your mic, you can go into the "General/Setup" channel and ask somebody to come in and listen to your mic. Once you're ready to go live, you'll join the "Live, On-Air" channel.
  11.
  12. We will not be restreaming the Japanese stream audio, so you can keep that stream muted, and you don't have to worry about talking over the Japanese commentators. We'll be playing soundtrack audio instead.
  13.
  14. Hosts are encouraged to commentate during the runs, though they should yield to the game-specific commentators and make sure to give them top priority. The hosts are there mainly to fill in the gaps so the game-specific commentators don't need to do all the work.
  15.
  16. In between games, Hosts should talk to the audience and let people know what's going on, what games are up next, etc. Try your best to keep people entertained even though there's nothing happening on stream.
