  1. Sky News Radio is the radio arm of Sky News, owned by Sky UK. It has been operating since June 1999, providing a news bulletin service for UK commercial radio stations operators across the UK and for a number of English-speaking radio stations across the world.
  2.
  3. Sky News Radio launched in June 1999 originally providing bespoke bulletins for Talk Radio. The service subsequently expanded in October 2001 to provide hourly news bulletins, audio and scripts for clients including The Wireless Group, Celador and GCap Media. The main competitor in the UK is IRN.
  4.
  5. The radio newsroom operates from Sky News' purpose-built studios at Osterley, London. Adverts following peak-time news bulletins are sold via UBC Media and reach more than 110 radio stations.
  6.
  7. Sky News provides radio stations across the UK with a complete service of national and international news. There is a live opt-in bulletin every hour plus a feed of audio and scripts, drawing on Sky's unequalled news, sport and entertainment programming. Sky News Radio also has a agreement to use audio from CBS Radio.
  8.
  9. Every day millions of radio listeners hear news, produced in the Sky News Centre. So the next time you tune into your favourite radio station, you may be listening to reports from our correspondents at the scene of the top news stories.
  10.
  11. We have a dedicated team of experienced radio journalists based right in the heart of the Sky News Centre. Our clients include the country's biggest radio stations including national broadcasters, Virgin Radio, Talk Radio and talkSPORT.
  12.
  13. We also serve the groups behind large regional stations across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland such as Heart, LBC, Real Radio and Smooth, as well as the local stations operated by The Wireless Group, Northern Media Group and KMFM.
  14.
  15. Sky News Radio transmits a live two-minute national and international news bulletin on the hour 24 hours a day. All audio and copy is distributed by Sky News via Sky News Radio FTP website. Stations can also source their own audio cuts from Sky News and Sky Sports News television. Sky News Radio also provides a feed of national news and sports stories to radio station websites.
  16.
  17. Sky News Radio operates two audio channels on the Astra 2B satellite: SNR1 transmits the hourly news bulletins. SNR2 transmits press conferences and live events. In the event of a major news story (e.g. royal death or major terrorist incident), audio from Sky News television will be relayed on SNR1 and SNR2 with extended radio bulletins broadcast on the hour and additional two-minute bulletins on the half-hour.
  18.
  19. Community radio stations around the UK also take the hourly bulletins, although they are not listed as customers on the Sky News Radio website.
