  1. Zanna Praxenta was born on Terra, in the Eternal City to a very poor family. But, then again, owning any kind of land on Terra cost more than a palace on any other Hive World. Due to this, Zanna’s family couldn’t afford any kind of medicine, so when it came to fixing injuries, Zanna had to make do with scraps. Old clothes, ripped for rags to create makeshift bandages. Scrap metal filed and fashioned into a suture needle. It was during this childhood Zanna found her gift for Medicae. This carried on into her teens, where life stopped after her parents passed. She was sent to the Schola Progenium, where she spent the rest of her childhood. Her wide knowledge of Medicae became known to more and more people in the orphanage. She took great pride in looking after the younger girls who would get harassed by the older boys.

This incredible skill only increased as the years went by, and it became so well known that when the local Adepta Sororitas came to visit for new recruits, they were already aware of Zanna’s prowess, as the Progenium Commandant had told the Sisters of her. She was immediately recruited into the Order Hospitaller of the Convent Prioris. Zanna was assigned to the Order of the Cleansing Water, in which she rose to the rank of Palatine over the years. Her remarkable skill was a sight to behold, not even requiring any techno-implants to perform even the most difficult of operations. However, her one flaw was combat. Zanna preferred to stay in the comfort of the hospices on Terra, never venturing beyond. This was not to say she was incapable on the battlefield. Her knowledge and study of the human body and psyche meant she knew exactly how and where to inflict pain. However, she was far surpassed by the more well-trained and hardened sisters in the Orders Militant.

  5. Zanna’s expertise grew more and more attention over the years, until she eventually caught the eye of the Inquisition. They asked her to become an Acolyte, but at a price. She was informed that in order to maintain her subtlety, she would have to leave the Order Hospitaller and have her rank and records scrubbed. This initially displeased Zanna, however, the thought of aiding more people, all in the name of the God-Emperor Himself led her to accept the offer. The most crushing blow to Zanna when joining the Inquisition was giving up her armour. She had grown attached to it, and it was one of the constants throughout her tenure in the Hospitaller. Upon leaving Terra, she gave this armour to the Order of the Cleansing Water, in hope that one day she would return to collect it, having been revered as fulfilling His will.
