The Herald

The Herald is a horrific being.

Looking directly at it is painful. Its body has fully reconstituted to become a Maw, standing at 12' tall. It has six arms, and oily, shadowy masses pour from its pores and swirl menacingly around it. Thousands of little shards, resembling the claws used by other Shadows, float above its head in a huge halo. It has a huge, glowing white mouth in its stomach and another on its head, with three glowing white eyes. While it is not so ugly as to be difficult to look at on its own, its psionic influence is so powerful that it would penetrate the psionically-protected armor and the strongest wills, and while it would only simply cause headaches, entering its psionic cloud may inflict more serious effects. Its voice pierces into the minds of its attackers, loud and clear, and its psionic attacks feel as if they're reaching into the very core of whomever they strike.

Entering in its range of influence inflicts strange hallucinations; visions of stars and gnashing teeth in one's periphery, of strange and dark figures and distant whispers. Audio fluctuates, between muted and unusually loud. Tremors may happen, and one may feel more dis-inhibited than usual. Spending more than 3 minutes within its range may cause one's vision to become completely clouded with the hallucinations, and they may completely lose control of their body. It is imperative that all combatants avoid staying inside of its sphere of influence.
