Romani Montclaire - King's Response (4/21)

[06:08] Romani arrives in the marketplace, taking out various pieces of paper as he comes along. The Sun and Moon eyes glanced at those around, giving Alexander a nod, as well as one to Bumi.

"Evening."

[06:09] "Good luck, Bumi," he says. He could tell by touch the young boy had been working hard. A bright future might await the young crafter after all.. but it all depended on if he could leave his mark. Time would tell for Bumi and even Mariaan as well.

And like any good King, he turns over to Romani.

"Greetings. How are you?"

[06:10] "I am well." Romani nodded, smiling to the King.

"Although, a bit encumbered. I have a couple of things for you." Two letters, in particular are taken out.

"Number one, Lady Astor and Rinn had a talk near the mountain. I only thought to start writing part way through, but I thought you might be interested."

"And number two, I asked for Rinn's desires in peace and I have that in letter as well. I should have asked for her signature, my mistake."

[06:12] Alexander rose an eye, news to him. He gives a short nod and holds a hand out to receive said letters.

"I have not sent her a letter yet, so hopefully this sheds some light on things," he says.

"Is there anything you want to comment on? It surprises me my mother had a talk with Rinn. Not normally does she leave Osrona."

[06:16] Romani would nod.

"It was a chance meeting, most definitely. Rinn was at the bottom of the mountain, and Serea happened to head out that way. I do not think it was planned, by any means."

Romani said, handing over the first of the letters.

"My main comments are, she has agreed to meet with you. She said earlier, before I had paper, that the only reason she did not come to this last meeting was she was not given a time and place."

"That, and if there is to be peace, I think we should give them a couple, three or five, years to sort out their things internally, as well has have them station some of their warriors to guard the bridge from bandits as well."

[06:24] "Thank you, Romani," he says, hearing the nobleman out. Once finished there is a quick glance over the letters. The one with his mother and Rinn warrants confusion. Perhaps due to the points they talk of.

More time is spent looking at the other letter. If it was to be true.

"This last meeting never was to include her. It was planned prior, meant to be between Osrona and Illburg and later incorporated Myllenoris," he informs. There was a reason he did not invite Rinn and that reason is soon spoken on.

"Unfortunately Rinn lies, a lot. You have to be careful. I do not remember if you were there but when we first sentenced Yani, she and him promised that they would fight against witches no matter what. Now look at them."

"That said, I am not unreasonable. I will be sending Rinn a letter to see if she speaks the truth."

[06:29] Romani nods.

"You are welcome." A small chuckle. "And I have not heard of the full results of the talk between Orsona and Illburg. Did it go well?" He asked, ever curious.

"I do not know a lot about Rinn, only that which I have seen. I have encountered her only two, three, or four times now, I have not really counted, and while impassioned, I am uncertain if she has lied to me personally, but I do see the problem when she is housing occultists and witches."

"Might I suggest one of the terms of the peace then be the delivery of the Witch within a set time period? As well as any other occultic names we can find. Two or three years would be plenty of time for that."

He nodded.

"Other things I notice is that they seem to worry over certain bandits. I know that Tiernay recently attacked one of theirs near the bridge, and they seem to be under the interpretation that his muggings currently are due to him being on hire from Orsona."

[06:35] "It went well. Ilsa suggested to grab you but she did not end up doing so. Illburg, Osrona and Myllenoris are neutral. No more attacking each other. No more banditry. I will be addressing it tomorrow."

He explains. It felt well now that they had one less threat off their back. A temporary peace, sure, but it seemed to be enough for now.

"I am not sure why Tiernay is attacking them, but he did not seem fond of Theria," Alexander explains. "The way Theria has acted has not helped them," he admits.

"And yes, the term of peace will be a response to the occultists. Many suggested the same. Ophelia, Eirene, Lord Grimmore."

[06:40] Romani nodded.

"I would have liked to have been a part of it, but I am also not sure if I would have had a roll to play." A small chuckle. "I am only a Bishop of the church, or just a normal nobleman. In terms of rank, not very outstanding."

A shrug of his shoulders.

"I believe he may just be desiring to take things from people. I am not certain. Still, I think it would be good to tell them he is not currently on hire, if only for confirmation."

A small pause.

"The other thing, I would definitely say, is for us to take a firm stance on where we stand with their dragons. Lady Astor is very much in favor of killing Gargling, as I am sure that letter notes. If we want peace, we have to be sure to clarify we will not do that. On the other hand, I do not think they will be willing to have peace if we seek to pursue it."

[06:42] "Perhaps but Del was there. And for anyone interested in diplomatic relations like Ophelia and my sister, Eirene. It did well."

Then a short nod at mention of Tiernay. It seemed fair.

"I will make sure to clarify on that." Truthfully the whole dragon situation as a whole was strange. And while Alexander had an opinion on it when he was younger, age had started to mature him. To be more realistic.

"What my mother and Rinn talked of was hard to understand. Though it is good their thoughts are on paper. For that I am grateful to you."

[06:45] "Maybe I should have been there then." Romani closed his eyes, letting out a small sigh. "I believe it would have been more productive in the end. During that time, I only ended up getting to see one of the muggings in person; And was ultimately unable to stop it."

He shook his head and let out a small self-disappointed sigh.

"From what I gather? The Drakanites seem to serve the dragon as a god, and pay them tithe. This seems to keep the dragon passive. Your mother seemed not to approve of it. And you are welcome."

"I am glad to assist."

[06:47] Alexander does not bother talking of Romani's loss of luck. But the mention of drakanites warrants a nod.

"It is strange but the dragon could be a problem if it was not pleased. We talked of .. Garjling in the meeting as well. High Lady Asta had some words to say of it."

[06:48] Alexander rei Petrakis says, "Him rather."
[06:48] Romani cos Montclaire says, "I wish I had been there more the more I hear."
[06:49] Alexander rei Petrakis says, "Perhaps Ilsa could tell you more."
[06:49] Alexander rei Petrakis says, "I will admit though, it did last a while and parts were boring."
[06:49] Romani cos Montclaire says, "It couldbe a problem, if not pleased, I do agree. I think we should find out exactly what the Tithes are. And meetings can get drab."
[06:50] Alexander rei Petrakis says, "Good idea. That was a topic we brought up."
[06:50] Alexander rei Petrakis says, "If Theria was not willing to stop war, how we could make sure the dragon was not angered."
[06:51] Romani cos Montclaire says, "That is an interesting concept. We should also find out how long it remains pacified, as well as when it's next feeding is."
[06:51] Romani cos Montclaire says, "Also if tithe would prevent it's actions if called upon in the first place."
[06:52] The Petrakis clasps his chin a moment.

"Hmmm. The hard part is getting that information. But I will see what I can do. Perhaps I can see if the Twilight Troupe or Ophelia can learn anything."

[06:52] Romani would nod.

[06:52] Romani cos Montclaire says, "It sounds as if it is a plan then."
[06:53] Romani cos Montclaire says, "I believe that is all of what I have to report and pass on right now."
[06:53] Alexander rei Petrakis says, "Yes. And thank you."
[06:53] Alexander rei Petrakis says, "Feel free to get some rest."
[06:53] Romani cos Montclaire says, "You are welcome, Alexander. Glad to assist. And thank you."
[06:53] Alexander rei Petrakis says, "Hopefully once peace is achieved we can talk on more casual manners."
[06:54] Romani cos Montclaire says, "I would like that."
[06:54] Romani cos Montclaire says, "I will see you later. May your path be ever bright."
[06:54] Alexander rei Petrakis says, "You as well. Farewell."
[06:55] Romani tips his hat and heads off.
