  5. Chapter 6
  6.
  7.
  8. >You hear birds chirping as you slowly open your eyes
  9. >Cascading pillars of gold spread throughout the room, pouring from the crooked blinds covering the window
  10. >You look down and see Mace snoring with her head and arm over your chest as you both lay naked in bed
  11. >You stroke the top of her head, running your fingers through her greasy silver tan hair
  12. *She’s actually pretty cute when she lets down her guard
  13. >Mace snorts loudly and growls as she tightens her grip on your chest
  14. *On second thought….
  15. >You hear the sound of boots as you see a large figure peer in through the cracks of the motel blinds
  16. >It just stands there for a couple minutes staring
  17. *Goddamit Riley can’t I just have one morning in peace
  18. “Go away Riley! Whatever it is you can tell me later!”
  19. >The figure moves away from the windows down towards the door
  20. *Good
  21. >You suddenly hear the loud shuffle of multiple boots outside
  22. *What the?
  23. >Mace’s eyes shoot open as she grabs you by the shoulder and pulls you over the edge of the bed against the wall
  24. SMASH!
  25. >The door explodes off its hinges as three giant bulls in black clothing walk into the room spaying the place with submachine gun fire
  26. >Everything around you including the bed you were just in flies apart from the impact of hundreds of bullets
  27. >While bullets crack all around you, Mace reaches under the bed
  28. >She just barely manages to grab the sling from her shotgun, pulling it back to her
  29. >She looks at you and puts a finger to her lips as the barrage dies down
  30. >The room is filled with deafening silence as bits of kicked up feather and cloth slowly flutter to the ground like snowflakes
  31. >Mace grabs a empty beer bottle and flings it from underneath the bed to the entrance of the bathroom
  32. >The bulls begin firing into the bathroom entrance across from the bed as Mace jumps up and quickly fires off three rounds from her pump shotgun in quick succession
  33. BOOM! chk chk BOOM! chk chk BOOM! chk chk
  34. >All three shots find their targets square in the chest
  35. >An explosion of gore bursts out their backs and onto the wall behind them
  36. >Each bull drops to the ground dead as an ocean of blood flows over the dusty carpet
  37. >You hear multiple screams and gunshots come from outside
  38. >Mace quickly picks up a box labeled “lead slugs” from the end of the bed and frantically reloads the shotgun
  39. >”Do you know how to use a gun?” said Mace sliding the last shell into the receiver
  40. >”My father showed me how to use a revolver when I was little but that’s it” you say still shaken from what just happened
  41. >You look down to see blood running down from Mace’s right side
  42. “Mace…your…” you stutter
  43. >”Its fine kid” Mace says before getting up and running to the front doorway
  44. >She picks a submachine gun off a dead bull and slings it over her shoulder
  45. >She grabs the forty-four revolver from last night’s incident off of the side table and throws it onto the bed next to you
  46. >”Take that, check the other rooms, and don’t get yourself killed,” said Mace cocking her shotgun before running to the right, down the outside stairs to the first floor
  47. >You quickly slip on a pair of bullet hole riddled pants from the floor
  48. >You hear more gunshots and banging as you nervously pick up the large revolver and head out the door to the left
  49. >After passing a couple normal rooms you see a kicked-in door on your left
  50. >You hear a blood-curdling scream come from inside and heavy thrashing
  51. >You peek around the corner to see Angel face down on the bed with her pants around her ankles as a bull mounts her from behind
  52. >He has a revolver to the back of her head as he thrusts in and out of her
  53. >”Damn bitch you sure are ugly, you should thank me, this is going to be the finest dick you’ve ever taken before I blow your ugly brains out” said the bull
  54. >Angel just curses and growls as she rocks back and forth trying to throw the large bull off
  55. >The bull laughs, as he hits her in the back of the head with the grip of his gun with a loud crack
  56. >”Shut up! I am almost done here bitch!” the bull says as he thrusts faster and harder
  57. >You feel anger swell in your chest as you pop out from around the corner and fire the revolver
  58. BAM!
  59. >The shot lands in the wall a couple inches from the bull’s head
  60. >The bull looks over at the bullet hole and then to you
  61. >He quickly climbs off the bed firing three consecutive rounds at you wildly
  62. >One shot lands right between your legs, the second shot grazes your inner left thigh and the third explodes the outdoor light right next to your face
  63. >Glass and bullet fragments rake into the left side of your face and eye
  64. >You grasp the left side of your face with your left hand as you feel hot blood flow through your fingers
  65. >You fire the revolver again as your right hand trembles around the grip
  66. BAM!
  67. > The recoil almost smashes the front of the gun into your face from your loose, sweaty, grip
  68. >The bullet just barely grazes the bull’s right ear, as he keeps moving towards you
  69. >You duck back behind the door trying not to freak out as your heart begins to beat in your throat
  70. >You feel blood begin to trickle down your thigh from the graze
  71. >You try to open your left eye but are overwhelmed with searing pain
  72. >You swallow and pop around the corner again with the revolver out in front of you in your right hand
  73. >Your heartbeat sinks, slowing down to a crawl
  74. >The bull is two feet away from you and already pulling the trigger
  75. >But you’re quicker
  76. BAM!
  77. >The bullet discharges from your revolver as the barrel spews flame from its ports
  78. > The round enters the bull’s left shoulder as it erupts into a chunky explosion of gore and sinews
  79. >The bull screams as he covers his right arm, dropping to one knee
  80. >Its arm dangling by a few ropey threads as blood pours onto the floor
  81. >You feel the adrenaline coursing through your veins as you run up to the bull and press the barrel against his head
  82. click click click ………clickclickclickclickclickclick
  83. >You frantically pull the trigger as your brain fails to process how fucked you are
  84. >The bull smacks the gun out of your hand before getting back on his feet
  85. >He levels his revolver in his right hand to your head as you freeze in place
  86. *fuck! move move move! Come on!
  87. >But your legs stay frozen to the floor
  88. >You close your eyes, waiting for your skull to rip apart into a millions misty pieces
  89. >You open your eyes as you see Angel punch the bull’s arm into the air with a pair of bladed brass knuckles
  90. >The Bull yells in pain as he accidentally fires a round into the ceiling
  91. >Angel repeatedly punches the bull over and over again in the chest and stomach in a fury of fists
  92. >Blood sprays out from its chest, bones collapsing under the heavy blows
  93. >The bull falls back dead on the floor, its chest nothing more than shreds and ribbons
  94. >Angel pulls off the bladed brass knuckles and tosses them onto the dead body
  95. >She picks up the bull’s revolver and a short double sided-ax covered in runes from her duffle bag on the floor next to her bed
  96. >”My very own creation, poison tipped knuckles, never thought I would ever get to use them. Too impractical.” Said Angel in a low tone before lopping off the dead bull’s head with one hard swing from the ax
  97. >Angel pulls the ax out of the floor, resting the gore-covered weapon on her shoulder as she walks towards the door
  98. >”Thanks sweets” she says in a moot tone before running out the door and up a flight of stairs to the third floor
  99. > You throw the empty revolver onto the ground and pick a sheath knife off one of the tables before running back out the door
  100. >You hear a gunshot in the distance
  101. >You look across the motel to the opposite side as you see Dee tackle a bull out through her front door and over the railings of her second story room
  102. >Dee leans behind a concrete pillar cradling a tommy gun in her arms as two more bulls come up the stairs opposite from her
  103. >They begin to fire their submachine guns at the pillar to keep her ducking as they walk toward her position
  104. >Dee blind fires around the corner hitting both of the bulls in the legs before jumping out and unloading the rest of the drum into them
  105. BRATATATATATATATATATATAT
  106. >Both bulls spasm as their bodies are torn to pieces from the barrage
  107. >They collapse backwards onto the ground as blood flows over the side of the balcony
  108. >You see Dee reload another drum into the smoking Thompson submachine gun before looking around quickly
  109. >”All clear!” you hear her shout from the other side
  110. >You hear gunfire come from above along with heavy running footsteps
  111. >You hear loud banging and grunting from above as a bull with an ax lodge in its gut spills over the railing above you
  112. >He screams as he plummets down from the third floor to the asphalt below
  113. >The bulls body impacts the ground with a sickening crunch
  114. >You hear Angels voice yell “All clear!” from the third story
  115. >You can hear exchanges of gunfire for a while from below you along with more thrashing and yelling
  116. >Eventually, the air is filled with silence and the smell of burnt gunpowder
  117. >You hear a shotgun cocking from below as Mace’s gravely voice yells out “Get on the fucking ground now! Hands behind your heads! All clear! Regroup on me!”
  118. >You walk down towards the steps, grabbing a submachine off of one of the dead bulls from your room on the way
  119. >You don’t know how to use it but dammed if your going to go downstairs without a gun
  120. >You cautiously walk down to the first floor still shaking as your grasp around the submachine gun tightens
  121. >You see Mace still completely naked with her shotgun pointed at the back of two bulls kneeling on the ground, their arms behind their heads
  122. >You notice that fur on her right side from the waist down is now completely soaked in blood as is her shaking left arm
  123. >You see Riley walk out her motel room half naked, the door already busted off its hinges
  124. >Riley’s paws are wrapped tight around the necks of two bulls, dragging them kicking into the parking lot
  125. >You see a deep bleeding cut going from the side of her neck down towards her chest along with a torn up, bloody, right forearm
  126. >She throws the bull in her right hand to the ground
  127. >The bull props itself up on its elbows as it reaches a hand out towards Riley, about to speak
  128. >Riley pulls a revolver out of her pants waist and fires it without hesitating
  129. >The bull’s head explodes across the pavement as bits of fur and brain matter paint the asphalt in a v-shape
  130. >The bulls kneeling in front of Mace visibly flinch as the corpse glugs blood onto the ground like a tipped over gallon of milk
  131. >Doors and windows around the motel begin to open as people peek out onto the scene
  132. >Riley looks around and roars as she fires a round into the air
  133. >Any open door or window immediately slams shut
  134. >Riley brings the bull in her left hand in front of her face
  135. >She presses the smoking barrel to his cheek, singeing the fur it touches
  136. >”Who sent you? Is this the Bastards? Answer me!” in a deep voice thick with anger
  137. >”Fuck you bitch” spat the bull kicking its legs
  138. >Riley wraps her jaws around the bulls left ear and tears it off like a piece of jerky
  139. >The bull screams as she spits the ear out onto the ground
  140. >Riley licks her mouth, “Now you’re going to answer me or I am going to enjoy ripping you apart bit by bit like a fine steak”
  141. >The bull remains silent but shivering
  142. >Riley leans forward about to wrap her jaws around the bulls remaining ear
  143. >”OK! Ok! Yes, we’re the Bastards! This was a hit order put out by Artur, The head taking over for Boris. He demanded a full scale attack on the SoCal Sisters for Boris’ death”
  144. >”Are you all fucking dense? The gathering will see your deaths as justified and you all guilty for gang-genocide,” said Riley snapping her jaws in the bulls face
  145. >The bull flinched but smiled “I doubt it. You freaks have more enemies then you realize. The Bastards won’t go down that easily”
  146. >Riley raises an eyebrow before lowering her revolver to her side
  147. >”Waste ‘em” says Riley to Mace as she glares at the bull in her paw
  148. >Mace without hesitation quickly shoots both bulls in the back, their chests bursting onto pavement as they fall forward
  149. >Riley throws the bull in her left paw onto the ground as she stomps on him relentlessly with her massive boot
  150. >The snap and crack of bones echoes off the concrete walls as Riley stomps the bull harder, her face filled with rage, her teeth displaying an insane grin as the bull screams and flails in pain on the ground
  151. >Riley picks the half-conscious mess off the ground, its face broken and bleeding
  152. >”You get your ass back to Artur and you tell him to meet us at the cemetery on the edge of town at midnight. No goons, got it?”
  153. >The bull mumbles something through a mouthful of blood and shattered teeth
  154. >”GOT IT?” said Riley snarling and snapping her jaws
  155. >”Yes” the bull barely whimpered as Riley set him down on his feet
  156. >”Get the fuck out of here before I change my mind” said Riley as the beaten mess limps down the parking lot leaving drips of blood behind
  157. >Riley brings up her revolver and fires a round at the bulls feet from across the lot
  158. >”I said move it!” she yells as she cocks the hammer again
  159. >The bull trips but gets back up, as he limps full speed down into the main street
  160. >You stand there, your stomach doing flips as the adrenaline wears off
  161. >You lean on a concrete pillar next to you as you begin retching what little was in your stomach onto the ground
  162. >After you finish puking you walk over closer to Mace and Riley before slumping down next to another concrete pillar, exhausted, the submachine gun still in your hands
  163. >”Hey Riley come over here” you hear Mace say as she squats down next to the row of SoCal Sister motorcycles
  164. >Riley slips the revolver back into her pants waist and walks over to Mace
  165. >Mace rolls a frayed line from the bike through her fingers, “Before they knocked in the doors, they sabotaged the bikes. There’s no telling what they did to them”
  166. >Riley sighs as she looks over the row of bikes, “where are the Twins? I haven’t seen those two idiots since we got here”
  167. > “Where they always are,” Mace says matter-of-factly not looking Riley in the face
  168. >Mace teeters for a bit before falling back on her haunches as Riley grabs her
  169. >”EVE! WHERE ARE YOU? GET DOWN HERE NOW!” yells Riley standing Mace back on her feet
  170. >”I am fine Riley. You know I’ve been through worse. It looks worse then it is” said Mace regaining her balance
  171. >”Gods, stop being so stubborn” Riley says holding a paw on Mace shoulder “EVE!”
  172. >”I am coming, I am coming. Gods you two made a mess of this place” said Eve stepping over a dead bull towards Mace and Riley
  173. >Eve was about six feet tall and covered head to toe in dusty white leathers. She wears a white leather doublet jacket with red crosses on the shoulders and white jeans with white leather boots. Her hair is straight and golden blonde flowing over the left side of her face. The right side of her mouth showed a large disfiguring scar trailing from the corner of her mouth all the way back to her neck. Her voice was very firm and professional sounding but with a slight drawl. She carries a pistol holstered around her waist and a flat, black, hard case slung over her shoulder.
  174. >Eve whistled as she looked over Mace and Riley before shaking her head and laying down the hard case on the ground
  175. >She opens the hard case and pulls out a razor with tweezers and antiseptic
  176. >Eve mumbles to herself as she shaves the matted, bloody fur off of Maces side and arm before plucking shards bullet out of her skin. Finally, she applies antiseptic, coagulant, and gauze bandaging to her wounds. The whole time Mace just stands still as a placid lake, not even flinching a muscle
  177. >”You know Mace, you must have nine lives for how many times I’ve had to patch you up, your one lucky girl. If these had been full sized bullets instead of fragments, you’d be dead.” Said Eve applying the last of the bandages
  178. >”I don’t see getting shot as particularly lucky, not everything is a glass half-full in this world Eve” said Mace sourly as she looked over her bandages
  179. >Eve huffed “All I am saying is be careful and count your lucky stars Mace” before moving over to start work on Riley’s wounds
  180. >”Yeah, real lucky” said Mace leaning over one of the dead bulls as she pulled a cigarette and lighter from its jacket
  181. >She lit the cigarette and took a deep drag before looking back at Riley
  182. >Riley looks down at Eve, “Work on Twigs first Eve, I am ok” she says motioning over towards you
  183. >Eve gives a concerned look to Riley but nods and walks over to you
  184. >”Why hello there Twigs, I guess we haven’t really met yet, I am Eve, the Sisters go to for all their scraps and bumps” said Eve said in a cheery voice as she picked up your right hand an shook it
  185. >You feel woozy as you clench your bleeding left face in your hand. Your inner thigh still slick with oozing blood
  186. >”Lets see what you got here” said Eve taking your hand away from your face as she begun to wash it and pluck out the fragments with tweezers
  187. >Riley looked over at Mace “Go get dressed, grab some gear, and meet with me back here in a couple of minutes if your still feeling ok, we got some work to do”
  188. >”I am fine” said Mace growling slightly before walking to the stairs and back up to the second floor
  189. >Eve finishes patching up your face with a wade of gauze and wrappings forming an eye patch across your left eye
  190. > She quickly tears a hole in the leg of your pants and begins bandaging the graze on your inner left thigh
  191. >”Now don’t touch these patches for a couple hours. Just be a good pup and don’t go picking at it” said Eve finishing the bandage and dropping a lollipop in your hand
  192. >You feel insulted being treated like a child again but you unwrap the lollipop and stick it in your mouth
  193. *grape….well at least it’ll get some of the blood taste out of my mouth
  194. >Eve stands up and goes back over to Riley doing the same thing as Mace, shaving around the wounds and patching her up
  195. >”Ok, your all set to go, just try to be gentle on the arm. It looks like it took a pretty decent hit don’t want you reopening any wounds. You hear me?” said Eve wrapping the last of the gauze around the forearm
  196. >”Uh huh” Riley said dismissively, “You and Delilah make out ok? Anyone hurt?”
  197. >”No, we did pretty ok, we heard the gunshots from downstairs before a bull kicked in our door. As soon as he did, Delilah filled him with bullets. There was a second bull coming down the balcony but Angel tussled with him before he could reach us. Its amazing how absolutely uncoordinated of an attack this was. Instead of hitting us all at the same time, they tried to go door-to-door like a bunch of amateurs. Anyway, Angel is talking to Delilah right now so she’ll probably be free in a moment.” Said Eve as she put her tools back into the hard case and snapping it shut
  198. >”Good, I want you to check up on Dee and make sure she’s ok then I need you all to go to the markets and resupply, watch your back and pack heavy heat. You hear me? Stay away from the main street while you’re at it. I am going to go talk to the twins and see if they can fix up our rides in the mean time” said Riley
  199. >Eve put a gentle hand on Riley’s wrapped forearm “And you two do the same ok? Nothing stupid. I want you two coming back in one piece you hear me?” said Eve
  200. >Riley puts a paw on Eve’s shoulder, “You don’t have to worry Eve. You know the two of us can handle whatever comes our way”
  201. >Eve lets out a light sigh as she hugs Riley
  202. > She lets go of Riley and begins to walk over to the opposite side of the motel
  203. > Riley sighs seeing Eve go before she walks off and around the corner of the motel
  204. >You follow her, poking your head around the corner as she walks along the wall towards a dumpster
  205. >Lying slumped on the ground against the dumpster are two young hyenas you’d guess are in their teens, both only a couple inches taller than you. The one on the left is wearing torn dirty blue overalls covered in band patches. Underneath the overalls she wears a shredded dirty t-shirt with the sides cut out. Bundled dreads flow down her back all the way to her butt with rings and feathers bound to them. Across her body are various fur-stain tattoos of scared geometry and feral animals. Around her neck lay a pair of dirty, scratched, welder goggles. The hyena on the right has a spandex yellow sports top with the words “Eat A Dick!” written across the front of her small chest. She has an open midriff with boxer briefs showing the elastic tag “Calvin Klein: Beast Edition”. Most of her underwear shows above her oversized sweatpants with the legs rolled up mid-calf. The right side of her head is buzzed while the rest of her head is covered in butt length cornrow braids. Besides the obvious fashion differences, you could swear that both the hyenas looked identical to each other.
  206. >If it wasn’t for Riley’s calm look, you would have bet money the two of them were dead
  207. >Riley squats down in front of the two slumped hyenas
  208. >She looks the twins over before sighing and picking up a discarded pipe next to the dumpster
  209. >Riley takes a wide swing, pummeling the dumpster so hard that large craters form in its surface
  210. >Both the twins lean forward and grab their heads, “Fuck!” they both yell at the same time
  211. >Riley drops the pipe and lifts the twins off the ground by the fronts of their shirts, glaring into their faces
  212. >”Were you two idiots doing dope again? I swear to the fucking gods-“ said Riley with bile
  213. >”No Mom, we weren’t doing dope again! We promise!” they both said shaking their heads
  214. *Mom? What? Riley’s a mother?
  215. >Riley looks dubiously over at the ground to see a used needle and spoon laying on a broken piece of concrete before glaring back at the twins
  216. >”Alright maybe we did a little bit, but hey we had a couple weeks without. That’s a pretty good record, isn’t it mom?” said the one with the dreads
  217. >”No Tinker it isn’t” said Riley in an angry, gravely tone
  218. >”Aww come on mom! Your acting like we can’t handle our shit” said the one with the cornrows
  219. >”Shut up Tyler,” said Riley not even looking at Tyler as she placed the twins back down on their feet
  220. *Tinker and Tyler, phhfft you’ve gotta be kidding me
  221. >“We got us a little nosy one don’t we hon?”
  222. >“Yes, darling, quite the curious pup”
  223. >You look to your right to see Dee and Angel standing next to you
  224. >You notice Angel has a black eye now and Dee a long gauze bandage wrapped completely around her left thigh
  225. >Dee leans down to look over your body, running an investigative paw over your face
  226. >”Everything ok? Your not hurt are you darling?” said Dee in a nervous and worried tone
  227. “I am ok. Everything seems pretty superficial for the most part. I think I came out of this more unscathed then most,” you said looking over at Angel as she breaks eye contact with you
  228. >Dee looks over at Angel, confused at what you were looking at
  229. “So what’s the story with these two burn outs, are they Riley’s kids?” you say as you watch Riley chew out the twins
  230. >”That’s a long story, darling” Dee says as Angel gives a light harrumph
  231. >”Riley’s not a mother, never has been, never will be, she’s barren Sweets” said Angel
  232. >You look over Riley suddenly feeling slight pity for the monstrous hyena
  233. >”Don’t feel too sorry for her darling, she wouldn’t want kids even if she could have them. As much as I love her, Riley was always meant to be a tough loner, not a caring mother.” Said Dee
  234. >”Some people just weren’t meant to be mothers,” Angel said with a vile in her voice
  235. *Did we strike a chord there Angel?
  236. >Dee glared down at Angel before continuing, “We came into the twins about eight years ago during some of the harshest fighting of the war. We were riding as fast as we could away from the east coast to get away from the bombings and fighting. We just barely made it out of DC alive as we fled down through Virginia. We were sure at that time the war was going to scorch its way from shore to shore. With the war literally on our backs we did the only thing we could do which was run.”
  237. >”We should have stayed and fought instead of running like cowards” said Angel in a deeper tone, her arms crossed
  238. >Dee ignored the comment and continued, “We took a detour down a side road as the main highways were blocked with traffic escaping the fighting. We could hear bombs and gunfire in the distance quickly approaching. As we rounded a tight corner we saw them, the twins. They were just shivering bones, barely able to walk, yet determined to push on. They were only eleven at the time. We tried to talk to them but the only thing that they would say is “where’s momma, do you know where our mother is?” We didn’t have the time to go looking for their parents and we knew that if we left them there they would die. We did the only thing we could do; we took them with us. They kicked and screamed the whole time but in the end we saved their lives. During the next couple days Virginia was completely glassed along with most of the East Coast.”
  239. >Dee looked down at Angel again to see if she was listening to the story
  240. >Angel grumbled saying nothing as she shuffled her feet
  241. >”Riley and Me took the twins under our care and did the best we could with the limited resources we had at the time. We both clashed on what we should do with the twins or how we should raise them, seeing as how neither of us are really parent material“ said Dee
  242. >Angel let out another huff
  243. >Dee flicked the side of Angel’s head causing her to yowl as Dee continued, ”As the twins began to grow, their story began to come out bit by bit. I gathered what little information I could from them and the rest from other refugees that lived around them during their childhood. Their mother was a Beast Division soldier in the military during the height of the war. She died in combat a year before the fighting reached the east coast. Their spineless father in a fugue state panicked and left town two months before the east coast erupted in fighting. “
  244. >You could see Dee getting teary eyed but managing to keep her strong composure
  245. >”Those twins spent two months wandering through their house wondering where their mother was as the father never told them about her death. The twins ate what little rationed food was left in the house that their father didn’t take and drank whatever water came from the tap before it was shutoff. They starved, slowly turning to bone as they scavenged the remaining water from the toilets and bathtubs. They eventually took it upon themselves to look for their mother as they journeyed down from their house deep in the woods and followed the back road.” Said Dee as Angel’s face grew depressed
  246. >”I swear if I ever see their father, if he’s still alive, I will kill him where he stands.” Said Dee grinding her teeth as her grip on her gun tightened
  247. >Angel rested a hand on the side of Dee’s thigh, stoking it reassuringly
  248. >Dee looked down at Angel’s puppy dog eyes and continued ”The twins grew up to become something of an integral part of the SoCal Sisters, despite their ‘issues’ they are natural-born mechanics. Tinker excels at physical parts and pieces while Tyler excels at wiring and jerry rigging. Like everyone else here, Tinker and Tyler aren’t their real names but rather the names they gave to themselves when they were both thirteen or so”
  249. >You look over again to see Riley, now calmer than you’ve ever seen her as she tries tirelessly to haggle with the twins.
  250. *She just killed multiple people and ended a full-scale attack minutes ago but she can’t even begin to talk sense into her ‘kids’
  251. >Dee sighs again looking over your shoulder at Riley and the twins “The twins took to Riley seeing her as their step-mother, they love her and she loves them despite all the arguing. Unfortunately, once they hit puberty, they became brash and rebellious like all Hyena girls do. I think because of their past, they take it a little too far. I’ve told Riley to let them be, but just like everyone else here, she feels personally responsible for them. You might not believe me darling, but Riley carries the health of the gang on her shoulders. She cares about each and every one of us even if she can be kind of brash, that’s including you.
  252. *me?
  253. >Riley begins to walk back towards you looking defeated as you turn around to Dee and Angel
  254. >Dee gets on one knee and looks at you in the face, ”Look darling, I am telling you all this because I want you to understand. Despite the twin’s behavior, they really are hurting inside. I am not trying to excuse their disgusting behavior but I want you to know many of the people we consider freaks; junkies and trash are good people. Be kind to them, be patient with them, for they have more demons then you can possibly imagine little one.”
  255. >Angel begins to sniffle as a couple tears wet the fur on her muzzle
  256. >Dee stands up and wraps an arm around Angel, “Come on Angel, let’s go round up the others. We still need to gather some supplies and we’ve still got a long journey ahead of us”
  257. >Dee begins to walk away with Angel before she looks back at you and winks “Good luck, little one, and remember what I’ve told you”
  258. *Good luck?
  259. >A large paw gently presses down on your right shoulder as Riley stands next to you
  260. >“I am really sorry about this Twigs but your going to have to be babysat by the Twins” said Riley in a genuinely sincere tone
  261. “What! Me?! By those two slobs!”
  262. >Riley grip significantly tightens on your shoulder “Watch what you say human, those are my kids you’re talking about”
  263. “Yes Riley” you say through pain and gritted teeth
  264. >”Good, now I hope you all can get along, In all honesty it will probably be more of you babysitting them. I told them to get to work on repairing the bikes and disposing of the bodies asap. Try to keep them focused and try not to let them get into too much trouble please?” Riley said in a soft, caring voice
  265. >”Sure no problem, you can count on me” you said shaky and full of doubt
  266. >”Good” Riley said slapping you on the back as she pulls out crumpled pack of cigarettes from her pants pocket, tapping them against her palm
  267. >You see Mace come back down the stairs with a large black duffle bag, leather jacket, t-shirt and shotgun
  268. >She throws the t-shirt and jacket at Riley
  269. >Riley catches them and puts the t-shirt on
  270. > Mace has no shirt on other than a bulletproof vest with ammo clip straps and her pair of rolled up army pants.
  271. >Mace hands the shotgun off to Riley as she places the duffle bag down. She unzips the bag and begins rummaging through it. She pulls out a belt of shotgun shells and a large body armor vest handing it off to Riley. Riley slips on the armor as Mace pulls out an army issue M-4 from the bag along with multiple clips that she slides into the slots of her vest.
  272. >They both load their guns and sling them over their shoulders before Mace hands you the still heavy duffle bag full of weapons
  273. > “Here kid, take this back up to my room, Riley and I got some business to attend to” Mace says
  274. “What kind of business?” you say stupidly
  275. >”The kind that involves sniffing out rats and digging a little deeper on this shitshow” Mace says with a snap of her jaws in irritation
  276. >”Come on Mace lets leave Twigs to the Twins” Riley says as she begins to walk away
  277. >Mace gives you a quick kiss on the cheek before turning to walk away with Riley, “Good luck, kid, your gonna need it”
  278. “You too Mace” you say in a soft mumble as you take the bag of guns back up to her room
  279. >The bodies of the three bulls lay silent on the floor as flies begin to swarm their mouths and eyes
