Miyeon grew up in a mixed family. Her mother moved to Korea at a young age for work and ended up finding her dad, and that's how she was born.
Sadly, her father passed away when she was nine, he was hit while driving to Miyeon's talent show and she would and still does blame herself. Since she was around 11, she joined a dance company by the name of 'SHOWQUEENZ', it was an all girls dance company. She's always had a passion for dance and her parents even have videos of her dancing since the age of 5.
She always studied hard and often got average grades. But the one subject she didn't really like was Math, it was a pretty diffcult subject but she got through it.

Miyeon like almost anyone else had two parents. Her father is full blooded korean Jo Changmin who passed away. Her mother is an American ( white ) born and raised, Jo Sophia ( Adams ), she is now age 44. Miyeon also has two siblings. Her younger sisters Jo Nayoung & Nari are both age 14 at the moment, they are twins and very close to Miyeon.

Miyeon is really close to some idols. For an example, she's really close to the newest hot boy group Seventeen. Espically Hansol & Joshua, since they have a lot of in common with each other. Her main inspiration is Hyoyeon of Girl's Generation & then Exo's Kai. Hopes one day to collab with them. Her rap inspiration is Rap Monster.

Her dance company was getting reviewed by many kpop companies. Miyeon's group was one of the top and Pledis ended up signing her after seeing her passion and power.
