  1. Welcome to Landmines!
  2. Starting the server
  3. -------------------
  4. 1. Type in " cd /home/minecraft/ "
  5. 2. Type in sh mine.sh
  6. 3. Server will load up, from there everything is all good!
  7. 4. Type stop to end it.
  8. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  9.
  10. Installing plugins
  11. ------------------
  12. 1. Type in " cd /home/minecraft/plugins/ "
  13. 2. From this point, confirm the mod is not installed by typing "ls". If you see your file listed, do NOT install it.
  14. 3. Type in wget --no-check-certificate URL.com
  15. #Side note: Right click in PuTTY to paste your clipboard. Make SURE it is the DIRECT download link, and not a link to Rapidshare.
  16. If you download from Mediafire, left click on "Click here to download from Mediafire" and select Copy URL/Link Location
  17. 4. If it came installed in a ZIP, unzip it using "unzip filename.zip"
  18. !!!! Microcore Linux can not unrar files. They MUST be uploaded in zip or jar format.
  19. 5. Delete the ZIP using "rm -f filename.zip"
  20. #If it did not come installed in a ZIP, ignore 4 and 5.
  21. 6. Type "cd /home/minecraft/" and run the server as normal.
  22.
  23. What you SHOULD do:
  24. -------------------
  25. -Report any errors or crashes to haghighihk@gmail.com
  26. -Respect all files on the folder, and never deleting the files on the server. The system uses RAID parity backup, and will be provided an uninterruptable power supply.
  27. -Delete any test files. Size is key.
  28. -Use capitals when typing files in.
  29.
  30. What you SHOULD NOT do:
  31. -----------------------
  32. -NEVER TURN OFF THE SYSTEM AT ANY COST. ANY COST WHATSOEVER.
  33. -Delete any files.
  34. -Fuck with ANY system folders. Don't move anything to /dev/, and in general, don't go outide of /home/
  35. -Use special chars in folders or file. Naming a folder lol/derp*.11.gz is stupid.
  36. -Install useless shit like Cowsay or whatnot.
  37.
  38.
  39. Final Note
  40. ----------
  41. I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
  42. Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called “Linux”, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project. There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use.
  43. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine’s resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called “Linux” distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.
  44. Now, install gentoo.
