最初に彼女に対して感じていた洗練されたイメージは、いまや微塵もなかった。ひどく浅ましい姿だ。%K%P
There wasn't even a particle remaining of the refined image she first had. It was a terribly miserable appearance.

もっとも、そうなるのも無理はない。%K%P
However, it's no surprise.

死がすぐそこまで迫っているこの環境では、人は動物へと戻っていく。%K%P

黄泉木は小さくうなずく。%K%P
Yomogi gave a small nod.

彼が私達の分の食糧を保管しているのだ。%K%P
He's the one keeping our share of the food.

黄泉木は、ビニール袋に入ったカンパンの缶を取り出す。%K%P
Yomogi took the can of hard tack out of the vinyl bag he had stored it in.

袋の中には、すり切りいっぱいまでカンパンの詰まった缶が入っている。%K%P
Inside the bag was a can of hard tack, packed in and filled to the brim.

それは、黄泉木とゆに、そして私、３人分の食糧だ。%K%P
It was Yomogi's, Yuni's, and mine, three people's worth of food.

一旦、私達は食糧を４等分した。%K%P
For now, we divided the food into four equal parts.

だが、助け合って生きようという証に、もう一度ひとつにまとめたのだ。%K%P
However, as proof that we were going to be saved and live on, we once again left one of the pieces for later.

その行為は、私にとって『一人ではない。仲間がいるんだ』という希望と同義だった。%K%P
For me, that act was the same as hopefully proclaiming "I'm not alone. I have comrades."
