History for the Future

Long ago, there was space and time,
Galaxies slowly unfolded.
Beneath the light of our star the earth
thrived,
And life flourished soon after.
Majestic beasts roamed the land,
But disaster struck, yet their legacy lives on beneath the sand.
The age of humans began quite soon.
Us the people would survive during the worst of gloom.
Wars were won with pride and but lost too soon.
And inventions of the clever would take us to the moon.
And in this new era, a fact still stands:
The present is the history for the future to learn.
