Automatons

Automatons. Creatures made by humans, mostly of the Citadel, but who have been given sentience.

Automatons are often of two kinds. Automatons have triggered the creation of a strange political stance. For one, the most of the Citadel sees them as an useful utility, yet, they are otherwise treated like nothing much more than this, except for perhaps, the occasional android. Nonetheless, a famed figure in the field of automaton creation, named Colin Aureus, has begun a movement, in the lower tiers of Citadelian society, that attempts to see automatons as the future of mankind instead.

It is this movement, that has lead to certain automatons, to reject their former masters and gather, in peaceful protest for their own rights. Yet, concern has sparked when some military-use-only automatons joined up with the movement. This has been a significant concern, and a huge blow to the movement which at the time, was enjoying ever increasing popularity.

The third stance involves the Crys-Power Company, in the east. Their belief is that automatons as tools, should be used to further aid mankind, but mankind itself must not meddle with them. Their scientists ideas are largely transhumanist in nature, and as a result, do not fit in with either Citadelian beliefs, nor with the ideas of Corin Aureus.
