- @TheIdiotNinja I'd slash Hyper Beam with Counter as well on the physical Laxset.
- TheIdiotNinja31/05/2019
- i was considering that but i think you nearly always drop eq tbh
- i might make the change, i was on edge on it in the first place
- does @Nails have an opinion on this
- FriendOfMrGolem12031/05/2019
- I was arguing with my teammates in SPL which move to drop and they were mostly supporting dropping Hyper Beam.
- TheIdiotNinja31/05/2019
- well
- no offense to your teammates in spl but I think I know one or two things more than them about rby
- it's definitely something you can do but hyper beam is a pretty great move to have
- FriendOfMrGolem12031/05/2019
- It's nice but it's also so useful being able to scout for Counter and having coverage for Don and Gar.
- TheIdiotNinja31/05/2019
- but bslam -> hb still beats counter (although it's obviously not nearly as safe as eq), gengar doesn't really exist (mostly), rhydon still doesnt enjoy coming in to get chipped too much (and hates para)
- i guess both have enough merits
- i'll probably slash it
- FriendOfMrGolem12031/05/2019
- I'd just ask what others think.
- (it didn't sent that message earlier)
- TheIdiotNinja31/05/2019
- yeah we'll hear from nails and others
- Nails31/05/2019
- No reflect no amnesia lax needs hyper beam to be a real pokemon
- TheIdiotNinja31/05/2019
- so you don't think bslam eq hb boom should have counter slashed over hb
- Nails31/05/2019
- Unparaed lax losing to paraed chansey switching in is unacceptable
- TheIdiotNinja31/05/2019
- yeah that's kinda how i feel too
- Nails31/05/2019
- Slash counter under eq
- TheIdiotNinja31/05/2019
- that's done already
- fomg also wanted it slashed over hb
- but id almost never do that
- unless my opp is a known gengar spammer or w/e
- Nails31/05/2019
- Counter hits gengar anyways
- Like
- Counter lax isn't good
- But
- FriendOfMrGolem12031/05/2019
- What do you do with Lax vs a para'd Chansey though which might have Counter itself? Without EQ you can't scout for it (unless you want to click Counter vs Chansey).
- Nails31/05/2019
- Did the chansey switch into me
- If so I slam again and they go to 20
- And they have a 75% chance to take a kill and have their chansey too low to switch into starmie
- FriendOfMrGolem12031/05/2019
- No, let's say both are at 100% and Chansey has revealed BoltBeam (or just Beam).
- Nails31/05/2019
- Then I switch to something else
- Eq sucks there too
- FriendOfMrGolem12031/05/2019
- Then you lose a chance to get momentum
- especially when you suspect that the opponent has Counter
- Nails31/05/2019
- I lose a chance to get my lax paraed
- As well
- FriendOfMrGolem12031/05/2019
- Well... what if someone faces you, you lead with Jynx and revealed Jolteon and Starmie. I've never seen you run anything else but Counter on that Chansey.
- Nails31/05/2019
- Then we're prepping for nails and not an analysis
- And we mention the importance of having kabutops coverage in tauros's analysis
- As much as I'd like to think so I'm not the rby metagame
- I'd love to be corrected on this one though
- Feel free
- FriendOfMrGolem12031/05/2019
- It isn't the only factor but the combination of 1. actually pressuring Don without needing to hope for slam para and then still losing to it with Lax anyway 2. scouting Counter on Chansey/Lax 3. having a move to hit Gar in a 1v1 if necessary are valid enough points to warrant keeping EQ as main option imo
- Nails31/05/2019
- I just very strongly disagree with earthquake snorlax in all situations
- I don't think being walked by gengar is much more than a nuisance
- Walled*
- FriendOfMrGolem12031/05/2019
- That would mean you also disagree with the EQ+Body Slam Reflect Lax which is (rightfully imo) listed as a set in the analysis
- TheIdiotNinja31/05/2019
- earthquake is slashed last
