Scammer warning

I received emails from a scammer while searching for a room in Cambridge. The scammer is using a stolen identity card and photos from the Internet.

I'm writing to give you some information. The room is in a 3-bedroom house, the other 2 rooms are usually rented by postgraduate students or young professionals. The available room is furnished with double bed, bedside tables, wardrobes, and a desk + a chair. The room has Wi-Fi connection. There is a private bathroom for the room. The kitchen is shared with 2 other persons. The kitchen is fully equipped, in the basement is a washing machine &dryer. The house is within 5 minutes walk of the center of Cambridge.

Attached are photos (3 weeks old) of the room, bathroom kitchen, and living room. Also attached are Tenancy Agreement and Booking Instructions. This is Benjamin we also have 2 rooms available in another house on Clarendon Street in the centre of Cambridge.

Room 1 is a little bit bigger.

Wi-Fi is available in the rooms. There are locks with keys for the doors to the rooms. Each room comes with its private bathroom.

The house got a fully equipped kitchen with touch stove, oven, micro, fridge & freezer.

There is a living room with sofas and a TV + an extra study room for up to 5 persons.

There are 2 washing machines & dryers in the laundry room in the basement.

The house got 4 rooms for rent, and are usually shared by graduate/post graduates or professionals.

Intern scammer warning: As previously covered on the EU Confidential podcast, a scammer or scammers is using the stolen identity card of a Parliament intern (Benjamin Oppermann) to lure interns into sending them €780 as a rent deposit for an apartment that doesn’t exist. We were contacted by another intern this week who learned he was a victim by listening to the podcast. The latest victim, like Oppermann, urges all other new arrivals in Brussels to be careful and to report the scam to authorities.
