With her attention finally away from the Koopa, she looked out to the rainy darkness. They’d certainly made enough noise to draw attention towards themselves. Blurry figures marched in their direction from all sides.

Four of them were on them now, coming in from four cardinal directions. Sheik prepared herself.

Robin lunged from the rain-soaked shadows, bronze blade held high. Sheik was on the backfoot, if she dodged the strike and moved towards him, then the other three would have difficulty attacking through his body. She could then leverage him, either knocking one of their number out of the fight early or managing a political victory and escaping into the rain.

Sheik prepared herself, watched as Robin finished the arc of his leap, and as Bowser snatched him out of the air.

With a roar and a squeeze, he hurled Robin’s limp body across the clearing, barreling over Leaf. Mac closed in to her right. With one swipe, Bowser carved three deep gashes through his chest, so deep that Sheik briefly saw his protruding ribs before he melted and vanished into black smoke. The last one standing, a doppelganger of Samus, pointed her cannon directly towards them. Bowser limped forward and let his maw open, and a burst of flame cut short any projectile she could think to fire, before she herself melted into a puddle of ash and disappeared.

With the threats eliminated in the span of a few seconds, Bowser winced and massaged his arm.

He turned to glare at Sheik. “That enough proof for you.”
