- The party interrogated Ailetta, and surreptitiously searched her home. Asterion realized her smell did not match a duskblood's, and she seemed to be a greenskin of some variety - only he wasn't sure which kind. Talroath meanwhile carefully plundered a case of her potions before slipping back to the party in the middle of a heated discussion.
- Ailetta appeared to be generally cooperative with Castiel's interrogation, up until her identity came into question. This seemed to put a stop to her willingness to help, and the discussion grew hostile after a time. Nevertheless, they gleaned some important info for the report during their discussion. Three weeks ago hibernal hideaway fell, then furrier's tradingpost fell after.
- Tuva investigated the adjoining room during the discussion and found a strange vial full of magical poison. Additionally, a book on poisons was opened to a page detailing the preparation of Hemlock Water Dropwort, a potent local poison.
- Castiel gave Ailetta a signed letter indicating she has the authority to evacuate refugees on her behalf. She expressed their intent to sally out to confront the outriders, which Ailetta seemed to view as a suicide mission. They discussed potential assistance in town. Ailetta agreed to gather the refugees she could, and evacuate them in Johann's boat. She would bring whomever she could. She did not seem keen on making the journey overland.
- Reluctantly, she gave the party some potions and supplies for their journey. The party went on their way to investigate the town. They went to the improvised tents first, and came across Aeric the huntsman arguing with his wife, Zusannah. Talroath spoke with the woodsman, Val, who seemed like a crass strange man. He agreed after some fuss to help them, as did Aeric. The old fisherman, Mortimer, dismissed them. Both Mortimer and Aeric appeared to have missing opposite eyes.
- They spoke to the Montagues, a strange group of rich people on a holiday. They seemed enthusiastically interested in the 'refugee experience', and totally divorced from reality - except their daughter, Clarice. Castiel made a show of conscripting her, despite her parents protest.
- They moved on briefly to the cottages and recruited Ulrich the handicrafter. They wasted no more time there, and continued on to their destination.
- Approaching the bear cave Aeric described, they devised a plan. Aeric voiced his concerns, and Castiel rebuked him, revealing she discovered he gave his eye for a tribute. This appeared to ring true, and he seemed shocked she figured his secret out. They commenced with the assault.
- The combat was difficult, but the party managed to dispatch the warg riders, except their leader, whom they took prisoner. Ulrich fell in the battle, and Clarice was knocked out, but recovered.
