Bottom” Submissive when they want to be - This is a sub that really gets aroused by the idea of being submissive to someone else. While they might have general ideas of what they want and don’t want, they only want to be submissive when its to do something they want. This submission is restricted to certain time frames and settings – may be in a relationship or just submissive within a play scene for fun. This submissive tends to be referred to as a “Bottom” as they truly have no desire to serve another or give up control.
Bedroom Submissive - This is a slave that might agree to do whatever a Dom wants but only in the bedroom. This slave is someone that gives up control over what happens, but is allowed to walk away and return to a regular existence once outside of the bedroom or the set time period. This tends to be the testing ground for many submissives – can include a relationship.
Submissive, but not a slave - A submissive is someone who wants to serve another in and out of the bedroom.  The difference between this submissive and the others mentioned above, is that this submissive wants to serve and please their Dominant. Whether they enjoy the type of service or not, they do it for their Dominant. The difference between the submissive and the slave is that as a submissive there will be times when the submissive does not serve and will want to take active part in decision making. The Dominant and submissive will come to a decision together as to how and when the submissive will serve. The non-service times will be as a regular vanilla relationship.
The One That is a Slave Every Day - This would be a slave that is a live in part of a relationship in which they serve their Master or Mistress fully, outside of work and other vanilla life requirements. Much like a marriage, there would be an agreement as to what would be expected and how the BDSM practices would be carried out prior to this kind of commitment.
Total Power Exchange Slave - And then there are the slaves that say they do nothing but serve their Master or Mistress each day without any limits on what is asked of them. They give up all control and decision making to their Master/Mistress. They are completely dependent on their Dom for everything. This is generally not the case in many BDSM relationships, but it can exist. Many slaves fantasize about this idea, but when they experience it most find it is too restrictive.
