- World Update 4 - Asia and Oceania
- In 1776, the US government's official world analysis is released to public records. It covers Diplomatic, Political, and Military matters of many of the world's nations. It also includes maps of various filters. This is what its Asian section reads.
- Asia
- The two chaotic regions of Asia are China and India, with no single power coming out as the most powerful of the Continent.
- India
- Since the British invasion of the 1700s, and their alliance to Delhi, there has been a definite shift in power. Karnata, which once controlled nearly all of the southern and eastern part of the subcontinent, is now squished between a conquering Britain and an expansive Delhi. At the moment, the British Empire is in the middle of invading for yet another chunk of land from Orissa and Karnata. Religiously, India is divided quite thoroughly, with Karnata, Carnatic, Orissa, and Sind Hindu, Gujarat Shia, Delhi Sunni, and Bengal Buddhist. To the north, Nepal has outgrown its borders, stretching into Tibet (which lost most of its land in the process).
- South East
- In another clash of Muslim, Buddhist, and Hindu, the South Eastern states are numerous. In Indochina, no nation takes the role of uniter, each nation about as powerful as the rest. A complicated series of alliances keeps the peace between them, the real threat the Chinese intruder states from the north. In Indonesia, Pagurruyung, Majapahi, and Brunei have been vying for control of the islands. In fact, they have each been colonizing the thousands of tiny islands for a century. The three have thus far resisted European imperialism, but several smaller states have fallen to Castile, Britain, and Galicia. Interestingly, the only Iraqi colonies are located in Indonesia.
- China
- The last united China was under the Ming Dynasty. After that fell in the late 1400s, 5 primary warlords (and several small ones) took control of different parts of the empire. To the north is Jin, stretching from central China up to Siberia and Mongolia. Jin's only allies are the powerful Korean kingdom, Shun, and Yue. Along the east coast is Wu, by far the most powerful in military might with over 100 thousand troops and 54 ships. Wu's only ally is its vassal Tang. Yue has been taking parts of Indochina for years, but its army is incredibly weak. Yi is allied with the powerful Afghanistan, and Yi's fairly powerful army has helped Afghanistan get as far as it has. Shun, squashed between two larger neighbors, is lucky to be allied with one of them (Jin). It has the weakest army of any independent Chinese nation.
- Korea
- Korea has been moving slowly outward, taking Manchuria and parts of Mongolia from long dead kingdoms. The appearance of Russia and the resurgence of Jin has halted some of the progress. It boasts one of the most powerful militaries in Asia, with 82 thousand troops and 57 ships.
- Japan
- Since union between the Daimyo, Japan has only gained in strength, now at an impressive 116 ships and 65 thousand troops. It has yet to do any conquest of neighbors, not even the tiny Ryukyu nation in Okinawa. Its Feudal ways are dead, replaced by an administrative monarchy headed by Shogun Yoshimitsu Ashikaga. Japan has no relations whatsoever with the outside world, even blocking trade with nearly all European powers (how long this will last is yet to be seen). The last Japanese conquest was of Ainu in the last 16th century. In fact, the only thing of note in the last 200 years was the establishment of the administrative monarchy and the construction of a single Textile Manufactory in Kyoto.
- Russia
- Russia has quickly seized most of Siberia and are threatening to take the rest of the unclaimed lands of Magadan and Kamchatka. Despite close proximity, Russia has yet to be at war with one of the Asian nations.
- Oceania
- The major islands of Oceania are Papau, Australia, and New Zealand. Each one is split between several powers.
- Papau
- The interesting thing about this island is its colonization by what can be considered 'primitive' nations. Ternate, which was a single island nation just a century before, controls half of the southern coast. Same goes for Tidore, but with the southeastern coasts. To the west, Castile controls the tip of the island while Iraq makes up the northern coast.
- Australia
- Here Castile, Britain, and Haiti each own a chunk. Southeast is taken by Castile's Tierra Austral colony, North is taken by British Australia, and the west is being colonized by Haiti. So far there has not been any open war in or for Australia, more just border disputes, but it is unlikely this peace will last forever.
- New Zealand
- The islands are still in the process of being colonized by Castile and Britain. The southern island, Te Waipounamu, is controlled by Britain while the northern, Te Ika a Maui, is controlled by Castile.
