  1. [the stage is dark]
  2. Narrator: War. War never changes. Ever since man discovered the killing power of rock, humans lead wars anything from resources, to honor, to land. During the first world war, hundreds and thousands of people died protecting their countries from forces deemed evil by their leaders. During the short time of peace, humanity prospered, but now a new tale emerges. This is the beginning of the tale, for history is doomed to repeat those who do not look at the mistakes of their ancestors.
  3. [stage slowly lights up, showing a woman and a child sitting near a bush]
  4. Amelia: Mom, I'm tired of running. Where are we going?
  5. Tess: I know, sweetie, I know, but we have to run for now.
  6. Amelia: But mom, why are we running? These people said they will feed us and take care of us!
  7. Tess: Yes, they have, but they don't want to do just that.
  8. Amelia: What do they want, then?
  9. Tess: You're still too young to understand.
  10. [a bunch of guys dressed in military gear run past the bush, screaming in German]
  11. [Tess puts her hand over Amelia's mouth, looking scared]
  12. Tess: They're close. We have to keep going.
  13. Amelia: Go where?
  14. Tess: To safety.
  15. [Amelia and Tess leave the stage; lights out again]
  16. Narrator: The German forces are patrolling the borders, seeking any refugees, those who dare and try to leave their newly conquered borders. Let us then watch and learn from a tale of such people.
  17. [lights up; instead of a bush, there are a couple of trees, Amelia and Tess are hiding behind a tree]
  18. Tess: We are getting close
