—personality description: at first glance, wei doesn't seem the most friendly. with his tall stature and somehow always blank face, he's more intimidating and gives off a misleading "badboy" type of vibe. once you get to know him, though, he manages to show how wrong that first impression is. underneath his (unintentional) cool and tough persona, there's a boy who is fascinated with everything. he constantly walks around with wide eyes and his attention is caught by the smallest things, which makes people think he's a bit strange. he knows he can be a bit weird and never fails to let anyone know, and is shameless in the sense that he never seems to be embarrassed by the bizarre way he acts. he can do the oddest thing (say, dress up as a peacock) and not even the faintest blush will cover his cheeks. getting past his exterior is the hardest part, but after knowing his true personality for even a second makes it ten times easier to approach him. wei's not exactly outgoing, but there's something that just attracts people to him, and he's just extremely easy to open up around. his favorite thing to do is make people laugh and smile, and he manages to go to even the most extreme measures (stopping just before hurting himself or others) in order to make it happen. most of the time, he's willing to embarrass himself even for the smallest upturn of someone's lips to appear, and while people do constantly complain about how annoying he can be, they secretly appreciate it. underneath everything, he's just a fluffy ball of delight who sees it as his life purpose to bring more joy to the world. unfortunately, he has the worst timing... ever. whenever its time to make a joke or everyone needs something to lift up the mood, he's distracted by something, and when its definitely not the most appropriate time for a laugh, he'll bust out his best moves. luckily, though, the people close to him are used to it and don't take him very seriously. and while that does annoy him sometimes, he's okay with it because he knows that he can be a bit hard to handle sometimes.

—background: born in shanghai as the only, and very much loved child of two caring parents, wei's life wasn't exactly the hardest one anyone could live. the zhou family was made of old money and because of that simple fact, they were already off better than others -- the fact that his father and mother both worked well paying jobs only made the fact more obvious. because of this, wei could have literally had anything at the simple snap of his fingers. however, his parents, just like theirs before them, were very big on modesty and equality. they believed that just because you have money doesn't mean your better, and they enforced those ideals onto their son, making him work for anything he wanted. everything wei had was because he earned it, not because he simply asked for it -- as many believed. his family lived happily, even through startling life events, the most significant one being when his father was offered a job at seoul university in south korea, and they moved immediately. despite not being korean, wei was able to pick up the language relatively easily, and he managed to blend into the society as best as he could with such an unconventional personality. from a young age, weijin knew that he enjoyed singing as a simple hobby, but by the time he turned sixteen, that had blossomed into a deep infatuation for performing. actually, the reason he was shoved in that direction was because of one of his dad's colleagues. they were holding a festival of sorts at the university, and needed a quick replacement for a dancing act that had unexpectedly cancelled on them. they were desperate, and when wei's dad mentioned "oh yeah, my boy can dance" they pounced on the opportunity and BEGGED him to perform; they were willing to go as far as to pay him, but wei, with a soft heart, responded almost immediately that he would do it free of charge. long story short, he filled in and (if we're being honest) slayed the stage -- despite being a "so called" understudy, he was the biggest hit of them all. people loved him, and they even asked him to return for the festival next year! that one day really opened his eyes, and showed him just how much he was in love with being on stage. if he was given even one more chance to perform in front of people and put a smile on their face, he woudl take it. he was hooked, and after some pushing from his mother (that's a lie -- she's the one who signed him up for the audition without telling him) he was accepted into mystic ent, and was also one step closer to his dream.
