Hey, backers!

We’re well into our Kickstarter now and we plan on releasing a few new tiers and merchandise in the next few days. That’s great, right? So, how does this affect you?

In those new tiers, we plan on including more “insert yourself/character” slots that fit better in the vein of "design the appearance of a character (but also you can help flesh them out to have them fit you/your OC)." We're going to label them "Design an NPC" versus your current tier's "Design a Character." They all still come with the physical trio of game, CD, art book.

These roles will have significantly less flexibility in regards to backer input and vary in degrees of importance depending on the role. For example, one of the slots we will offer is a fellow classmate of Madison and Diana, who eventually end up dating Madison on all the other routes where Diana doesn't get with her.

Because only certain types of personalities would get along with Madison, the backer will have less jurisdiction over their character’s personality. With that said, this role is of significant importance to Madison’s route even if it's only a relatively brief appearance compared to the main cast.

The same is potentially true of the other roles to be offered in the next few days. Some will have more flexibility, but still have some pre-determined purpose. A different example would be a second student. They hang out with the first student mentioned above and generally help balance them out. They're also a tinder date for Diana.

However, we still want to try to be flexible beyond anything than we absolutely Need. For example, we're less particular about anything relating to the Hunter that we didn't mention below. We want to give you a decent chance to apply for a character slot while still having it ring as true as possible to your character concept/idea.

So, why reach out to you?

The tier you backed essentially ensures that we will include your character and work with you to custom fit a role for them/yourself in the narrative (to a cameo level at worst), OR potentially overlap with the roles we're talking about right now. These new tiers only have the latter. Because these roles are predetermined but of importance to the game’s core story, we felt it was only right to first offer them to you before making them public, since they may have traits you'd like. No matter what character slots are taken, we still aim to have an equal on-screen appearance representation (not counting The Hunter and, on a smaller scale (literally), his kid. Those are major, and the Hunter is the most restrictive.)

Please be aware that in the event these slots are not taken, it is possible we may ask you to fulfill one of them regardless. We won't force anything on your character that you don't want, but we will ask.

Please let us know within the next three days which would you would prefer. If we receive no response, we will assume you wish to keep what you pledged for. That is, the more-flexibility + potentially-less-significance option. If the slot isn't taken once they go public and you change your mind and would like that slot, you can adjust your tier on the kickstarter page.

There is a chance one of the other two backers may claim interest before you. We figure the most fair way is a first come first serve basis.
