夜中に町をプラプラしてたら警察に捕まった。
パトカーが俺のそばに止まって警官が2人出てきて俺を囲んだ。
警「ドゥーユーハヴパスポート？」
俺「ノー」
すかさず確保される俺。
警「ニホンゴワカル？」
俺「はい」
警「どこから来たの？」
俺「…ぐんま」
警「ミャンマー？」
俺「ぐんま」
警「グンマーね。ビザは持ってるの？」
俺「持ってないです」
警「はい、じゃあパトカー乗って」
パトカーに乗る俺。
警「名前は？」
俺「山田太郎（仮名）」
警「日系人？」
俺「日本人です」
警「え？」
俺「日本人ですよ」
警「…えっ？」
俺「免許証見ます？」
免許証を見せる俺。絶句する警官。
警「…すいませんでした…不法入国の人かと思って…」
警「…あの、その、お顔とかが、ちょっと外国の方みたいだったので…」
俺「帰っていいすか？」
警「…はい…。お気をつけて…」
それでやっと解放された。
その日を境に俺のあだなは「ネパール」から「グンマー」になった。

I was taking a walk at night when the police suddenly detained me.
The police car stopped right next to me and two cops got out and surrounded me.
Cop: "Do you have a passport?" (in English)
Me: "No." (in English)
They grabbed me.
Cop: "Do you understand Japanese?"
Me: "Yes."
Cop: "Where are you from?"
Me: "...Gunma.
Cop: "Myanmar?"
Me: "Gunma."
Cop: "Right, Gunmar. And do you have a visa?"
Me: "No."
Cop: "Alright, get in the car."
I got in the car.
Cop: "What's your name?"
Me: "Yamada Tarou."
Cop: "You're a nikkei or something?"
Me: "I'm Japanese."
Cop: "Huh?"
Me: "I'm Japanese."
Cop: "...Huh?"
Me: "Here's my license."
I showed them my license and they were shocked.
Cop: "...We're sorry, we thought you were an illegal immigrant..."
Cop: "...I mean, you look kind of foreign..."
Me: "Can I go?"
Cop: "...Yes, we're sorry..."
And then they let me go.
And from that they on my nickname changed from "Nepal" to "Gunmar".
