  1. 02:25] Finley says, "I want to show you something."
  2. [02:25] Romani cos Montclaire asks, "Greetings Finley. And oh?"
  3. [02:26] Finley says, "Let's see."
  4. [02:26] Finley says, "Name a place."
  5. [02:26] Finley says, "...or maybe we should walk there first."
  6. [02:26] Romani cos Montclaire asks, "Any place?"
  7. [02:26] Finley says, "Any place."
  8. [02:26] Romani cos Montclaire says, "Starfall."
  9. [02:30] was holding a platter of cheesecake.
  10. (Theo)
  11. [02:30] Finley says, "...this will do."
  12. [02:33] After the long hike, Finley spotted the crystal construct that rested atop Starfall tower. He approached it and came to a halt before he looked over his shoulder at Romani. "I've been doing some study ever since we returned from those ruins. And my time in the Vale has shown me some of the spirits' patterns and movements. How they travel and shift between this world and the next."
  13.
  14. The Teraphim looked back to the large crystal and then held out his own, gem-like right arm. In the sunlight it glittered in the same shimmering way the larger one did, and with palm extended, a beam of blue, cold light extended from Finley upward.
  15.
  16. It connected with the tower, and once the Teraphim closed his eyes to concentrate, he commit this place to memory.
  17.
  18. His pale grey hand was then offered to Romani, and Fin said, "Take it for a moment, and don't let go."
  19. (Finley)
  20. [02:36] The Priest would have followed after Finley, arms ever behind his back until the point where they came to a halt. A brow would raise, glancing around the back of the Starfall tower, before nodding. "Studying is good. I wish that I had more time for it. I have been busy with an occultic case, although the Witch behind it seems to be gone for good."
  21.
  22. A small nod, before growing curious. "How they travel between this world and the next? So how to pass into the spirit's domain?" He would ask, a slight canting of his head as the sunlight glittered down from above.
  23.
  24. The pale hand was reached to him, and, upon the instruction, Romani would take it and nod. He did not seem to fully rasp the idea, but he nodded.
  25.
  26. "Alright. Taking it in. I trust you."
  27. (Romani cos Montclaire)
  28. [02:44] For once, Finley didn't respond to the prompts regarding occultism and witchcraft. He was concentrated on whatever magic was funneling through the crystal, and as Romani took his hand and placed his trust in Finley, the light enveloped them in full. With a howling gust of wind, the two were pulled through the ether-
  29.
  30. only to land within the peaceful yet eerie depths of Myllenoris' Vale.
  31.
  32. The wildlife could be heard in the distance, but nothing remained of Starfall's environment or the magic that bridged them here aside from a soft, indigo dust that settled to the ground at their feet.
  33.
  34. Finley blinked, and then actually smiled before he turned to the priest and asked, "So witchcraft? Is this more about Duana? I had heard she was killed."
  35. (Finley)
  36. [02:47] Take it in, the instructions were. The pair of mismatched eyes would close, focused on taking in the world around him. For moments, anyways. Then it was as if there was a gust of wind, and he felt as if his feet suddenly had the ground swept up from underneath them.
  37.
  38. The eyes jutted open after a minute, glancing around to a place where he had yet to be. Silence evades the priest, turning around a couple of times to gaze around the landscape they had arrived in.
  39.
  40. "The nature here is very freeform." The Noble commented, before looking back to Finley.
  41.
  42. "How did you do that? And yes. It is a bit of a long story."
  43.
  44. "A boy captured one of Duana's students. The girl apparently was learning occultism. Her boyfriend came. A lot of complications, including him attempting to break his girlfriend out."
  45.
  46. "We got Duana's location. She was in the sewers, according to the boyfriend. And the Stellus finished it." Romani nodded.
  47. (Romani cos Montclaire)
  48. [02:55] Finley turned in place and then took in a breath of the Vale's air. His smile was quick to fade, the excitement turned back to Finley's usual demeanor, until the fatigue caught up to him. The travel spell took its toll almost instantly, the Teraphim's shoulders slumping down as he blinked rapidly and took a moment to catch his breath. It was as if a wall had smashed into him.
  49.
  50. But Finley shook it off and then made ready to head out, speaking to Romani while they walked.
  51.
  52. "It took a great amount of time attuning to the Vale, but the spirits here have allowed me to use their energy for it, I believe."
  53.
  54. "And ah.. yes Rinn told Asta and I when we met with her of Duana's students. We'd heard one was in Theria for rehabilitation while the other was in the church's hands. I've yet to travel out to Osrona since all of that. Been busy here."
  55.
  56. "Come though. I'll let you return to Myllenoris' markets."
  57. (Finley)
  58. [02:58] "You ok?"
  59.
  60. A pause would be taken, seeing the fatigue that seemed to quickly take to the Teraphim. Just as quickly, Romani's hand would move to his pack. From within, he would take out a bowl and hold it out to Finley.
  61.
  62. "I was saving this for later, but you look famished. You might need this more then I do." The Priest admitted, holding the Ramen out for Finley to take.
  63.
  64. "And I hold no doubt of that. It certainly looks like what you just did took am immense amount of effort."
  65.
  66. "Also that is good. The more Witch students that are being rehabilitated, the better. Honestly, I believe it would be ideal to have both Theria's church and Orsona's work against this threat. Especially now that the most notable Witch is gone."
  67.
  68. A small nod before pausing.
  69.
  70. "Do you know if this marketplace has any mana amnesias? I am searching for one."
  71. (Romani cos Montclaire)
  72. [02:58] {Item} You drop Ramen.
  73. [03:04] "I'll be alright." Finley reassured Romani as they continued on. He accepted the bowl anyway, quickly sipping from the brim to help the sustenance return some energy. "Consider this an 'I owe you' moment. One bowl of ramen." he went on.
  74.
  75. He nodded along with the rest, agreeing with the sentiment that the churches working together couldn't be a bad thing.
  76.
  77. "Uncertain if this place has them for sale. But once Amalia returns from her time in the Vale, she might have some in storage."
  78.
  79. "Or she could make one."
  80. (Finley)
  81. [03:05] Bella would slip a bottle into Romani's coat.
  82. (Bella Senatus)
  83. [03:05] {ITEM} Traded item with Bella Senatus: Mana Amnesia
  84. [03:07] Romani would chuckle.
  85.
  86. "There is no need to feel as if you owe me for the Ramen. It is enough to me to know it is going to good use, and that it helps a friend." A small smile spreads upon the lips of the Priest, blinking as suddenly a small bottle would be slipped into his coat. Romani turned left, then right looking before pausing.
  87.
  88. "Huh. Thank you?" He would whisper into the wind before looking back to Finley.
  89.
  90. "It is fine. I seem to have found one oddly enough."
  91.
  92. "Have things been alright in Myllenoris?"
  93. (Romani cos Montclaire)
  94. [03:15] "Well then I'll settle for a thank you." Fin said in regards to the ramen. He held the bowl in his hand either way, intent on keeping it to discard for later as to not bother Romani with it.
  95.
  96. With Bella coming and going, Finley only watched as the other Teraphim left. He turned back to Romani once more of his energy had apparently returned and then shrugged.
  97.
  98. "I've brought on an acolyte to the Valeborne. One that I've grown to feel responsible for. Lady Asta has assigned me to teaching her daughter Amy more about the spirits themselves. And I've taken on a bit more responsibilities as a Mistseer."
  99.
  100. "The meeting with the Therians was interesting. But I've heard it caused trouble in Osrona. Many believe Myllenoris didn't uphold the treaty." Finley frowned. "But I can't say I'm not relieved Greycloaks were not expended in the northern battles. That's Serea's fight that she began. She should be the one to end it."
  101. (Finley)
  102. [03:19] "It sounds as if you are gaining more responsibilities with time." A small smile would cross Romani's lips as he gave a nod.
  103.
  104. "I feel similar. I have become a full fledged Priest of the church, and we are having new acolytes join. four of them, just in the past two years. It is a real boom."
  105.
  106. A small chuckle. "It feels odd, if only because they call me Bishop Montclaire most of the time, instead of Romani. It makes me sound old." He shook his head. "I am only nineteen."
  107.
  108. "And I do hear that. Something about Myllesoris not supposed to be pulling out of the war. But in the end, I think it is fine. Theria no longer houses Witches or occultism. Instead, they are willing to meet and discuss with Myllesoris, and Orsona."
  109.
  110. "I think there could be chances for peace. Real peace." He would smile.
  111.
  112. "But as for Serea's battle? I know she wishes to fight the dragons still. She ever callstheir worshipers slaves. Personally, I want to know what tribute is paid to them. I would be wary if it is living men, but if it only gold?"
  113.
  114. "I can not say it would bother me."
  115. (Romani cos Montclaire)
  116. [03:25] Finley offered Romani another thin smile, something that was becoming a little more of a common occurrence where it wasn't before. He even exhaled in what might have been considered the tiniest, most subtle forms of a laugh. "Bishop Montclaire. A nice name and title. I'm still called Finley, it seems. Even if others have learned of my rank. Only their outward treatment of me has shifted."
  117.
  118. "And while I've filled Savael's shoes, I too am only nineteen. There's a lot more I'm to learn as Asta's advisor." he went on, the mention of Savael bringing something of a light to Finley's eyes. The shift to discussing Therian customs made it fade away.
  119.
  120. "Peace will be nice. I'll have to visit Osrona soon to hear more about this complaints for myself. Maybe I can put some to rest and ease over whatever troubles this last battle caused."
  121.
  122. "And as for dragons..." he shook his head, "...monstrous creatures. We'd do well to avoid angering them, if we can. Though I don't know all that much about them either, I've no intention of continuing to prod Theria into violence just to see them come down from their peaks."
  123. (Finley)
  124. [03:30] Romani would chuckle.
  125.
  126. "Sure, it sounds distinguished and dignified. But it sounds awkward when I am only nineteen. People are going to hear the name, assume I am in my thirties or forties, and then they are going to have that moment of just staring at me in confusion."
  127.
  128. "However, I am glad that you also seem to be going up in rank. And advisor position sounds quite good." He nodded a small amount, seeing the light that made itself known within Finley's eyes for a moment. "You are doing great."
  129.
  130. "Peace will be. A time when people are not afraid of a bandit settlement, do not have to fear dragons swooping down. We can fully focus upon the people who deserve to be focused on, Witches, occultists, people who would harm others. We can have a world filled with good."
  131.
  132. His hand lightly curled into a fist behind him, almost glowing with determination. "We just need to hear these complaints, settle them, and eventuallysee about holding a city summit."
  133.
  134. "I do not want to prod Theria into violence either in my desire to know more about the dragons." Romani confirmed, looking slightly more at Finley. "I just want to make sure innocent people are not raided as the tithe."
  135.
  136. A small blink to the side at the recently arrived, giving Bella a small wave as he just now saw her.
  137. (Romani cos Montclaire)
  138. [03:36] "Maybe this was Ilsa and Marie's plan all along; place the members of the Aegis in positions to truly bring about change. Marie often said that to truly succeed in what we wished to accomplish by bringing balance and peace to Esshar, we would have to do it without violence." Finley looked at his own crystal hand, remembering the shadow of himself he had watched lead Myllenoris into a desert war of his own making.
  139.
  140. "While I've not been perfect, I like to believe we're actually seeing such change come about. I'm not naïve enough to think it will last forever, but even something temporary and comforting will give the people somewhere to breath. Somewhere to find a foundation. Somewhere to build the memories of the times they'll wish for the next time war rears its head."
  141.
  142. "And then we will be there once again. With more experience." Finley's crystal hand came into a solid close as well, his fist before himbefore he lowed it to his side.
  143.
  144. "Whatever remains of the Coven will not be able to hide from us forever. That much has been proven as well."
  145.
  146. He too blinked in surprise, a little more than Romani, as Bella suddenly appeared before them. It took a second for Fin to remember that she had taken a habit of utilizing invisibility potions to her advantage, a thought that made him...
  147.
  148. nervous.
  149. (Finley)
  150. [03:43] Bella had been tailing them for awhile, listening to their plight and past as well as their current actions in the present. Following quietly along from the point Finley moved them into the Vale, all until they left and now here they were.
  151.
  152. She had a habit of watching people like this, but once she saw Finley in the Vale? Her curiosity took her away. Now she was revealed. Damned invisibility potions always running out at bad times. Once her form was visible? She hesitated and was embarrassed to be caught in such a way. Though to start? Instead she'd judge them both.
  153.
  154. "Y'know you both work too hard. Always so serious and-" Bella stopped. It would be foolhardy to play that card on them. "Heyya guys..." She said in a more nervous tone after seeing how surprised they were. A gentle sway of her hand given as a greeting.
  155. (Bella Senatus)
  156. [03:46] Where as Finley seemed nervous by Bella's recent arrival, the Priest would just simply give her a nod. There was no worry in the slightest upon his features. "Hey Bella. It has been a little while. I hope you are well. You are correct, often I do find myself being serious."
  157.
  158. "How have you been lately?" A genuine small cant of his head.
  159.
  160. With that, his gaze carried back to Finley. "Perhaps it was. Although, it would take a bit more then what is currently in place. If their plan was to bring about change, would they not also want members from Illburg, and Theria? And if it is some sort of global peace, a place to organize it really is needed."
  161.
  162. "I still think that setting up the Baleford bridge as a symbol of peace between all nations is a good idea." He nodded, arms still folding behind his back.
  163.
  164. "It may not last forever, this is true. But if an organization came together that served people of all nations, and to protect them as a whole, I believe it could last for longer." A small cough.
  165.
  166. "Hopefully not. have yet to see another full fledge Witch, and the students of Duana will all soon enough be found. we just have to wait."
  167.
  168. (Romani cos Montclaire)
