- Clicking lightly as she watches the human depart, the being couldn't help but let out another small mental chuckle, the soft ringing sound dripping into the Haruken's perception. "What a foolish child.. humans never cease to amaze me with their incompetence." Focusing her orange orbs fully on the being before her, gazing at his form, taking in the details offered at a simple glance.
- "And of you occultist? Unlike the child, you atleast hold a simple mind on your shoulders, capable of understand the reality of death. Most try to say it's a beautiful thing, but you undertstand the full price of one's life." In clining her crested visage, the aracnid effortlessly glides about the dried weeds, the winds simply pushing her around as she watches the young human.
- Her thoughts darting towards curiousity from the odd symbols dorning his form. "Tell me human... those markings, I swear I've seen something like them before, a long time ago... yes, several decades ago. While I still resided within the walls of Mormegil." Her quisical stare never ceased, as she awaited the teen's answer.
- (Narashee)
- Narashee's ignorance irked Voss' brow, leaving him peeved when catching ear of the entitlement branded to his person: 'Human'. He glared back into the tangerine orbs that were of the Yokai's own, with inverted pupils growing clear from the ashen threads of hair that concealed them prior. He hovered over, silent initially, but as the distance closed, speaking up from an aggravated tone.
- "I am no human, creature, and it'd be best for you to know the difference." He spat out with venom laced throughout the tongue. "If you recognize my mark, The Oracle's Mark, from Mormegil, it means that the land is not a legend spoken in whispers by my people, and you have likely come across another of my own. One whom likely lived amongst our former home before it was destroyed by the scoundrels that are of Valmasia today."
- "...Where exactly did you come to meet said markings, Yokai." He asked nigh demanding an answer, though only carrying over his irritations from the racial assumption prior, certainly dying down according to the depreciation of the growling undertone.
- (Exovaryn "Voss" Haruke)
- The aracnid giggles at his spite, obviously pleased to see him unlike most of the stone faced creatures she came across. Her form, still sliding along the aged weeds, as she clicks idly brushing her large spear like fangs togther, the many orbs still borring into the Haruken's form. "Mormegil? I was spawned there, I fed on the lesser beings in it's depths, and grew to a larger size. Yes... I remember now, you are missing something however, but you are a Haruken. Am I wrong?~"
- Her pleasing tone dances lightly within the teen's mind, as if the wind's were toying with him. Something she was quite good at protraying. "Yes, the Malpercian were quite common in that cave as well. Before of course, it was destroyed by the human armies. Such fools they were, regardless I left before the attack had begun, and simply existed outside of the cave for several years. Eventually aiding in Byson when it was a darkened hell hole, unlike now." The aracnid stops, digging her blade like apendages into the baked soil below.
- Holding her ever constant stare towards the Occultist, maybe he'd be more interesting than the weeping child after all. "Well then, I suppose you never saw the so called citadel of darkness, but it was simply a city, beneath the earth. Filled with Yokai, and the like. I believe there was even one of those Vamperic humans about as well... I don't know for sure, it eludes me as of yet." The being simply stared, having said what was to be said, holding her silence, and watching the young Haruken.
- (Narashee)
- The Yokai seemed to have knowledge of the Harukean's origins, or at least a place of refuge once destroyed by Valmasian forces. "Missing something?" He asked, referring to the Yokai whom seemed to speak of characteristics he'd assume latched to his person. "What do you mean, missing something?" He pressed onward, "...I am a Harukean..." This was the first entity he had ever met that knew of his own kind, and even implied knowledge that exceeded Exovaryn's own.
- "...Malpercians and Harukeans living side by side? That sounds like a myth now... Considering they couldn't be more destructive to one another." He commented, "...Alas, you say it was destroyed by human armies... That is just about what I heard of it." He sounded close to emitting a sigh, but uttered nothing more, hearing the Yokai out to the end.
- "...A city... Beneath the Earth?" He queried, "How was it destroyed if it was beneath the earth? It'd require a massive army or flawed structure of the underground canal. How many were there within these armies? If you were there, can you indulge me in the details..." He went on, "....Is it true, that Oracle Eutan Haruke reigned over the land? Tell me, everything..."
- (Exovaryn "Voss" Haruke)
- The large creature continues to watch, moving closer, and brushing her fangs against one another, letting out a happy giggle from his curiousity. "Eutan? I knew him, he was gruff and demanding, but quite the warrior, having several Kaor's at his call. All willingly serving him, the city was destroyed by the Empire however... Even with the full might of the occultic capital, the cave above it was collapsed, the Empire was just too powerful. I would have fought for my old home, had I not been away. Though my life would have ended that day." Her orange hues scan the Harukean's form, taking in everything she could from his current standing.
- A small hiss falls from her maw, as she continues to speak towards the youthful being. "Yes, the city was proud, Malpercian and Harukean lived side by side, I swear two were planning on having a child, not sure how that would have ended up... But yes, you are missing something. The Lyperion Utovex, is what Eutan called it I believe." Giving a small nod, the creature continues to stare towards the smaller being, curious as to what he was thinking.
- Something that often plagued the large being, the thoughts of others. "But I can tell you that it didn't fall without a fight, the Empire lost a few, but nowhere near as much as the city itself. They slaughtered innocents, and children some proclaiming to be 'heros' others laughing in their chaos. No matter who would have won that battle, I'm sure the carnage was blissful.~"
- (Narashee)
- The Empire? He wasn't entirely knowledgeable on that detail, though it was likely noted by many, he proved inept to much of Valmasia's history. However, what he -did- come to know was the power claimed to be harnessed by that of Eutan: Lyperion Utovex.
- "I understand that he was a ruler, our patriarch, and a powerful warrior... But he dared to proclaim himself a Xsperitan God?" He asked, "...He must've been bold. if not incredibly strong to take up such title to his power." He went on, oblivious.
- "Her name is not often uttered alloud, but as a God of Fate, she oversees and ensures what is, and what will be." Voss continued, "Perhaps, I could obtain such capability and status, some day." He monologued, prior to pivoting from his selfish daze and honing his focus upon Narashee yet again.
- "So, Mormegil is gone? The caves above the village collapsed and its people eradicated with few survivors?" He asked in disappointment. "...I should've known it'd be at the hands of self-acclaimed heroes.. Murderers, glorified in the name of this land that is Valmasia..." He said through the decrementing tone withering throughout his sigh.
- (Exovaryn "Voss" Haruke)
- Staring towards him, she inclines her head, unsure of what he meant by "Xsperitan God" Something she had never heard before, for now she simply ignored it, going back to the task at hand. "Well, I can tell you that the Empire destroyed more than just Mormegil, the near perfect Yokai Kokb'ael fell to their hands, later. They were destroyed by Ersa, who aided in the creation of the second Empire, that destroyed basically everything else. Including Eutan." Another small click falls from her maw, as the aracnid creature stares towards the occultic being, curious on how he would respond.
- Her own brimming curiousity, burning within her thoughts, she wondered about these new terms, the things he spoke of. Being a knowlege seeker, she hated not knowing something... "But yes, the Empire rarely called themselves heros, even Judeal fought with them, I would think it to be known as an age of darkness, or something close to that." Nodding once again, the creature looks about the plains, seeing if anything else was around her current position.
- But the desolate place only provided the Harukean, and the aracnid herself. This was certainly better than the constant annoyance of Alteros, or the small 'heros' that hide around the swamp. Most being barely a blip compared to her own might. "So tell me Harukean... What do you know of Mormegil? Of your past? And this term "Xsperitan God" What is it? I know of your kin, but not all of it. Eutan held to many secrets, things he wouldn't share. But for the power he held, I would think your disbelief in the title void, he was rivaling the might of Kokb'ael after all."
- (Narashee)
- He was inept in most cases of history, but one force such as Kokb'eal had been known explicitly for decades; It was a name that transcended down generations for the entierity of Harukean presence upon Valmasia, once the Yokai came to be of common knowledge throughout the land.
- If Eutan was on-par with an Imperfect Yokai, said to have come close to unlocking Perfection, then perhaps there was more to the title that was 'Lyperion Utovex', albeit, it wasn't something he had a clue of. There were no hints of its presence, nor an explicit guide as to what it was...
- There were no other Harukeans he could relate to, nor compare with. There was no display of this power... Perhaps it was a blessing?
- Such was the closest he could come to, guessing before he gave up on the matter.
- The Yokai followed up with more questions, which demanded an answer only because the Ventus could've known more about his people that he simply did not. "I don't know anything about Mormegil." He answered solemnly, "I wasn't blessed enough to know what it was like." Eyes trailed off for the north, where one gazed upon the distant walls of Nostvale.
- "My past points back to a congregation of Harukean refuges, said to have traveled from Mormegil after its destruction with tales of the change that occured there and on the way to their new home in the putrid scape of the Marshes: The Deadlands." He said with digust, "If Eutan held so many secrets, perhaps there was a reason... Maybe he was alone... Maybe it was a worse time before me..." He assumed, spouting out potential reasons as to his behavior.
- "....But... Xsperitan God.." He succumed to the need of a momentary pause, having lost his breath. "The Xsperitan Gods are that of the Gods of Fate... They watch over us all, and have branded us with the power of the marks we wield." He rested an open left arm upon his marred chest to behold the Oracle's Mark in all its glory.
- "...Lyperion Utovex, is the name of one of the Gods... A goddess said to appear in the dreams of the deserving and chosen... Maybe she came to Eutan in a dream..." He assumed, finishing up with a turn in the Yokai's direction. "Maybe that is where is power came from..."
- (Exovaryn "Voss" Haruke)
- The large creature simply watches, listening to the young being as he spoke about his history, the story of his kin. Saying nothing against it, she simply accepts that it is, even if she had no belief in it's existance. All she knew, was that his kin held a power that was quite annoying to deal with. Especially when they made giant fly swatters, and tried to destroy all of her webs.
- "I have lived in the marshes for decades, it is a desolate horrid place, filled with nothing but the rot of the ages. However, I found it somewhat peaceful in it's filth, and hate. It seemed to fit my needs for the time that was. Hiding after the usurping of Byson, It was the best course of action." Nodding once more the creature simply floats, slowly growing bored of simple conversation.
- "But that is all I have to say about that... more knowlege can be learned of your old homeland, even if you never saw it, I'm sure there are books /somewhere/ about the place. Though I have no idea where they may be, I'm sure you could find them." Hissing lightly, the creature digs her legs into the dried earth, effortlessly slicing it away with the sharpened tips of her elongated apendages.
- (Narashee)
- More information of his old homeland? Xsperita was completely unrelated to the scenario, and he doubted anything good could've come from venturing back there now. He was aware of the stories that answered the questrion of 'Why', there was a distinct reason why Harukeans were here on Valmasia and not still residing in peace upon Xsperita. This was all that was left... And he, just as the many others would have to live with it.
- One thing he wouldn't stand for however, was a life in hiding amongst the lands without a place to truly call home. The cities and villages of Valmasia were far too hostile to him and his people to ever be considered, and thus the legends of Mormegil piqued his interest. Even if it was destroyed, harvesting knowledge from its ruins would be good enough for him.
- The more he could learn, the better...
- "Yokai, you said you hailed from Mormegil... Is it possible that we can venture to its remains and survey them for anything of use?" He asked, "Maybe the fallen left valuables behind."
- (Exovaryn "Voss" Haruke)
- The large being lets out a small distasteful hiss, clicking her spear like fangs in response. "Tell me Harukean... what would I gain from aiding you? I shall, but for a price of course~" Her venom laced tone once again drips into his thoughts, as she glides with the aid of the winds, pushing her violet frame closer towards the being. "However, I know exactly where Mormegil's ruins are, and of what was once there. So that shall not be an issue."
- The being simply waits, staring down at the youthful being with many orange orbs, waiting, pondering what he would say to her propisition. Hopefully, it'd be a favorable answer, that would make her day all the brighter. "So... do we have a deal Harukean?"
- (Narashee)
- It was a pity that he couldn't operate via force, this Yokai was far too advanced for one to simply enthrall and bleed of information. He had to reason with it, or idle about with festering irritatations, knowing he was incapable of accomplishing his goals due to his inability to harvest the necessities from this Yokai.
- "...What will you gain?" He echoed in query, "It is quite grand, if I do say so myself... A place amongst the safelands I intend to take up in the near future, where you can hunt and flourish without fear of being hunted by common travelers about.
- "The Utopia I've been promised, in the west..." He went onwards to saying, "You may have the vast portions of land at your disposal should thi- No... The lands north, within the Bygone.. I've heard of a place for Yokai there. I'm sure it can be claimed in your honor." He finalized, "Yes, we could do that... Conquer said land in your name, where you could reign and feed akin to a Lord over your own. In time, you'd evolve to Kaordom, and flourish with growing armies at your disposal. "It will take time, but I can ensure it, given the chance... You speak of powers I possess, and if such is the case I intend to use it to the pinnicle of my capacity."
- (Exovaryn "Voss" Haruke)
- The large being stays silent, simply listening to his preposal. "No need to conquer land for me Harukean, I simply wish to grow, and to be stronger... not to command my kin. If you can aid me in that, then I shall do more than just show you this Mormegil, I will aid you where I can, as long as you uphold your half." The large being pushes her thoughts out, simply staring, waiting to hear his answer.
- Hopefully, it'd be something to her liking. That he'd accept the mush more modest deal, she was not one to want to hold armies, while an Imperfect was about, she simply wished for her own power to progress in the evolution of her species. "Well then... shall we be off? I'm sure our deal is set in stone."
- (Narashee)
- Exovaryn "Voss" Haruke: <*Single nod*> It is a deal. Though, I prefer to bring along others to aid... Assuming it is something that may require more than just a duet of travelers.
- Narashee: <*Clicking lightly, the being nods.*><I know little of Mormegil's condition, but it is most likely infested with the primal forms of my kin.>
- Narashee: <If of course... anything still remains.>
- A congregation of personages caught the attention of an airborne Harukean scouring the city from above, descending to take amongst the numbers of its civillians and members attending an apparent event underway. He didn't exactly know nor comprehend the scene in motion, nor did he particularly care. Eyes practiced the deed of sifting through the numbers as they did for the tedious hours prior, finally laying upon what he suspected to be the nigh tenth replica of Sune within the populace.
- This time, the entity was equipped with a staff lined across their backside, leaving greater reason to confirm assumptions. A sigh of relief escaped his form, and without further ado he approached from behind, resting an arm upon one's shoulder to beckon their awareness.
- "Your assistance is required." He spoke, intent on keeping his voice low enough as to not disturb what scenario played out before him, nor draw any futher attention than need be.
- "Gather your belongings and find your friend... " He ordered with his arm sliding from one's shoulder midst his pivot northbound, "We're leaving..."
- (Exovaryn "Voss" Haruke)
- Had been watching the display rather intently, before she hears a voice and a hand on her shoulder, turning pondering for a moment who it could be. The brisk voice, curt, no flamboyant words, smirking coyly, "Ah... it is good to see you again." She said calmly, "I will gather what I can... I've not heard from ym friend in some time though. He will prolly be in Alteros." she said calmly, "Might I ask where we are going?" she inquired, her eyes narrowing, though not aggressive it is almost playful, her mind simultaneously working through what to grab at her place.
- (Sune Loviatar)
- "Walking is taking too long, we'll get there far faster via aerial transport." He suggested, halting outright and awaiting her approach, "Grab hold, we'll get there faster this way."
- There wasn't any futher word from him, merely patient waiting-- Regardless if she took grasp upon his vessel somehow, the hum of gravitational forces sounded off, carting him and her, should she have taken hold.
- Pebbles hovered up alongside Voss' form, and with a sturdy boom, he'd rocket off into the skies above, gaining altitude with arms extended out to his sides. The cosmic rays radiating from above were soaked beyond the skin, illuminating the Oracle's Mark midst the combination of stygian forces building in the presence of cosmic energies and gravitational influence.
- In a unique surge of the triad of arcana, figures morphed into a slender silhouette, skimmering across the horizon within a stream of aurelean light, gattled with blitzing trails of crimson static...
- (Exovaryn "Voss" Haruke)
- Grabbed on firmly, yelping and feeling her body bieng dragged along, acting like a flag upon his rear, flialing needlessly, eyes rolled back, tongue hanging out as she is torn across the sky. Soon enough though they are in Alteros, landing firmly to the ground, she face planting adn grunting, "F-fuck..." She muttered, rubbing her face and shivering a bit, swaying as she stood, "Ya don't give no warnin', eh?" She asked, chuckling softly, "I uh, haven't seen him like I said. So if he's not here in Alteros... which as a side note I'm not spose to be here, than I have no idea where he is." She said calmly.
- (Sune Loviatar)
- Sune may've found comfort upon the grounds prior to an abrupt landing, but the Harukean only fired back off for the skies above, scanning the general proximity...
- Nothing. It left him rather peeved to lack knowledge of his whereabouts, but it was inevitable. They were disorganized, and considering their small numbers were far from formiddible to any opposing force. Exovaryn slowly drifted for the soils, finding his current movements pointless.
- So far, the entire endeavor had been for nothing, if he couldn't find another member to accompany him throughout the journey into the unknown. A sigh escaped from parted maws, and eyes sealed shut. Arms were risen but only to cross over his naked chest, complemented by the stressed visage of Voss hunkering forth, shrouding closed eyes with ashen threads of hair.
- The casted shadow and grave silence accompanied a tone that continued with dread laden throughout his speech.
- "...So, he's not here... In that case, we'll have to find someone else, or postpone the entire operation.."
- (Exovaryn "Voss" Haruke)
- She sighs softly, looking up at him, hands on her hips, "Yes well, I dunno where he is, if we must I'm sure we can find another, we can just, ya know... ditch em afterwards." she muttered with a coy smirk, "The heck we doin anyways Mr. Fly-pants?" She asked, crossing her arms, "You mentioned power and underground city but never elaborated on what we were doin, why ya needed me from Tilandre. I bet it's important but the fact still remains." She said with a set of quirked lips, clicking her tongue idly.
- (Sune Loviatar)
- It occured to him that he never actually breifed Sune on the reasoning he extracted her from Tilandre. He kept it vague until now, and considering they were out of earshot for the most part from anyone he could suspect to have hostilities, if not aggressive curiousity for that of his intended mission, he hadn't reason not to elaborate on his findings.
- A sigh left his person regardless, having grown tired of the whole scenario that failed to prove fruitful thus far. Perhaps, it was fate's way of forcing a break upon him.
- "The undercity, yes... The underground ruins of Mormegil. It was once a land hidden within the Sarrabean Desert, and I've found someone whom knows where it is." He opened his eyes to gaze into the horizon, back turned towards Sune, pacing away from her direction as he went onward."...With their knowledge, I intend to investigate the ruins to learn more about it and its history. I want to learn more about Eutan Haruke, my previous patriarch, and the power he calls 'Lyperion Utovex'."
- Exovaryn took a mild moment's pause prior to continuing, shifting legs to pivot entirely, facing Sune directly now.
- "I want to know why he claims to bare the power of a god... And above all else, the opportunity to see if such a place could be fit for the name, 'Utopia'." He finished, "If all goes well, who knows what opportunities we could happen across. You and your friend may share reaping of the benefits, whether it'd be treasure of the fallen, or knowledge... What I hope for is redemption for my own people." He affirmed...
- "....And the name, is Voss." He clarified, in reference to her dub of him.
- (Exovaryn "Voss" Haruke)
- Nods a bit, thinking, "Y-yeah I know your name, it was sarcasm. You are ill equiped for society with your lack of ability to take a joke." She said softly, nodding still, "But yes, I have heard of Eutan. You speak as if he still lives, I thought him to be dead so the record says anyway, didn't some, also now dead, bitch kill him?" She asked in a curious tone, though his promises of at least intruige of the ruins gave her a smile. Weapons? Magics? Materials over all!? Who coulda thought that this opportunity would fall right into her lap?
- She smirked, nodding softly, "Well regardless if ya thought I'd not be on before, I'm totally on now. I need materials, my blood forge has been making money but ti's onyl cool looking Iron weapons, good for selling to idiots but I need more metals to be able to craft some truly memorable things!" She said gleefully, almost hopping up and down like a little girl. Though she calms a minute later, "We need to fidn Tertius or at least a replacement for the event in question because doing this with just us two and your contact is hardly enough..."
- (Sune Loviatar)
- The Harukean didn't comment on her remarks, jokes nor suggestions, simply lost at thought for the moment. "Hrm.." He hummed, idling for the moment with eyes slowly drifting across the scene to fall upon crowds in the distance; An exodus of travels constantly flowing throughout the masses of Alteros captured him in a mesmerizing trance.
- "...In that case, round up your friend here and we'll start the trip later on." He ordered, "That way when we head out, things move a lot more smoothly. The last thing I want to do is hunt either of you two down again. It's time-consuming and irritating at best." He wasn't much of the social fellow as hinted by his nigh immediate departure on foot, solemn as always and hyped from the perpetate state of boredom only when something concerning his studies arose to his attention.
- "When you find him, I'm sure it won't be too difficult to notify him that I'm looking for him." He said with his back turned, heading north, "I'd suggest, in few week's time... Perhaps, at the end of third week this month, we'll meet back here however many times needed to lock down a date to start this expedition... Do not mention this to anyone else." He finished, tone notably grave in comparison to his speech prior. "The last thing I need are transgressors attempting to sap the information out of either of you."
- (Exovaryn "Voss" Haruke)
- She laughs softly, "You're talking to someone who enjoys pain, the moment they try they will realize I'll sooner beg them to kill me to feel my final moments than give them information." She teased softly, "Regardless, I'll not be speaking to anyone about it, it's not worth the time nor the meddling of others." She said with a light bow of the head, "Though if you want to do more than minor influences of the world via your power and knowledge... I recommend you learn some form of speech that doesn't simply shove people into a corner and force them to answer. You will get more allies that way." She said almost in a sweet tone, "Though now that I am -here- in Alteros I might as well see if I can find resources of any sort... if you need me, Tilandre or here are where I shall be." She said.
- (Sune Loviatar)
- Learn a form of speech? The idea of such left him confused. He felt no need to bother speaking to anyone akin to an equal. Xenophobia tainted his perception and left all considered 'human' to be deemed as inferiorities- This woman no different.
- It was part of the reason he failed to bother with details such as eye contact and communications that surpassed that of simple authority. He worked for a cause, and naught else; The Harukean slowed down somewhat in his departure upon catching ear of it, dismissing it with few second's worth of thought.
- "...I'll obtain allies when I need them." He ensured, voice devoid of mood as usual. "I will see you again, when company is at hand.. Until then, good bye." He didn't partake to flight as usual, preferring to vanish into the churning populace of Alterosi, until a later date.
- (Exovaryn "Voss" Haruke)
- Sune Loviatar: <*shakes her head, chuckling*> Good day, Voss...
