— background: izumi grew up in the small village of tenkawa. he lived with his grandparents who ran a small hotel/hot springs. his actual parents had him at a young age, but left him with his maternal grandparents, mainly because his mother claimed she didn't have time to raise a child while attending t university. his mother is successful business woman who visits him a couple times a year, and his father owns a business in tenkawa. despite living with his grandparents, he has a pretty close relationship with his dad. he attended a small school in tenkawa for all of his school years and was widely known as the class clown. he was also top of the class, despite the way he acted. pretty much everyone liked him, even the teachers. he would sometimes play pranks on people with his best friends, but they were never serious and everyone involved got a good laugh. throughout high school, he claimed he was going to become a famous actor and everyone kinda laughed him off until he got scouted by badvibes ent. during his last year of high school. he finished out the year and became a trainee shortly afterwards. (fun fact! he cried so much during the closing ceremony for his high school that he his eyes were red for the whole day. he really loves his hometown and all the people there, btw.) he fit in easily as a trainee, but he was pretty homesick for a while. he called his friends back home pretty frequently, and still does. in his hometown, he's pretty much a celebrity, even though nearly everyone knows him as that snot-noses brat who used to be the menace of the neighborhood.

— family: hagiware fumie // mother // 39 // head of the fashion department for a popular brand // they aren't very close due to the fact that she lives in tokyo and only comes back home a few times a year. ; hagiware mitsuko // grandmother // 64 // owner of a small hotel / hot springs // they are really close because izumi grew up with her. she taught him how to cook for himself because she was worried he wouldn't eat well when he left home. they both genuinely care for each other, and she even bought a cell phone just so she'd be able to contact him when he left home. (btw, she was pretty adamant about never owning a cell phone because she claimed her landline was good enough) ; hagiware akito // grandfather // 67 // owner of a small hotel / hot springs // they aren't super close, but they still care for each other a lot. akito is not great at expressing emotion, but he's really proud of izumi for his achievements. ; fujiwara kei // father // 40 // owner of a rundown sporting goods store // he and his father are pretty close. kei always sends izumi packages of useless items thinking they may be of use to him and it's gotten to the point of just being a running joke between the two that his dad will never sent him something genuinely useful. when izumi was younger, he used to go to baseball games with his dad and they both got way too into the game. they're both really caring and genuinely like to spend time with each other. izumi's dad is still in love with izumi's mother, btw, and he occasionally asks izumi how his mom is doing just to make sure she's doing alright.

— personality: he's really nice, and super gullible, which gets him into a lot of trouble sometimes. when he really likes someone, platonically or romantically, he follows them around like a puppy. he gets really excited about small things, especially the stupid packages his dad sends him or gifts from [slot 7]. he's basically the definition of sunshine and is the kind of person who can make people happy just from being around him. despite this, when he's sad, he's super annoying and clingy, something that [slot 7] knows all too well. he basically just likes to cuddle when he's sad and eat lots of fattening snack foods. he gets over his sadness relatively quickly tho. he uses hand gestures almost as much as words when he's talking. he's very expressive and it's really easy to tell his emotions just judging by the tone of his voice (one reason his high school classmates thought he couldn't be an actor bc he can't mask his actual emotions. they definitely thought the title of an idol suited him better.)

— likes: record players, himself, his family, [slot 7], romance dramas, baseball, sweets, salty snacks, snowy days, cuddling, the dog filter on snow

— dislikes: hot days, wearing yukata, cleaning, eggs, super serious situations, valentine's day, being second place, violence, scary movies

— hobbies: songwriting (he likes to write songs in japanese more than in korean. he has a songwriting book that he writes in religiously.) ; baseball (he doesn't really play, but he's pretty much a baseball otaku and likes to watch games. he even occasionally watches american baseball games.)

— habits: he has a bad habit of forgetting to shut off the lights or turn off the faucet. he also frequently steals the other members food, much to their distaste.

— trivia: yikes!! i put a lot of trivia in his background and stuff, so i hope i don't overload you with useless facts about izumi lol. /// despite seeming like he's bouncing off the walls, he can be really focused when he's trying to do something. when he first became a trainee, he would sometimes stay up all night studying to improve his korean so that he could better understand the other members and future fans. he really likes playing the piano because everytime his mom came home from tokyo, she would teach him bits and pieces of playing the piano. he never had to study that hard in high school, but he really struggled with learning korean. he's really insecure about his dancing skills, and they're the main thing he wants to improve on. he eats a ridiculous amount of food and never gains weight. he's really good at tea ceremony because he was forced to join the tea ceremony club by one of his female friends in high school. he used to wear glasses, but started to wear contact during high school because he hated how the glasses looked on him. he practices by himself sometimes to improve his dancing skills. despite his carefree nature, he's pretty serious when it comes to relationships. he hasn't really had a real relationship, but there's someone he really likes now. he really likes soaking in the baths at his grandparents' hotel, and when he was younger, he had a bad habit where he would fall asleep in the bath. it's gotten slightly better, but he still drifts to sleep sometimes.

— sexuality: bisexual

— love interest + backup: slot 7 ; i don't really have a backup, because i feel like izumi would be so attached to slot 7, that even if they didn't end up together, he'd have an unrequited crush on him.

— why should you be together: slot 7 was the first person that izumi got close to when he was a trainee and they basically did everything together. i think the main reason they should be together is because izumi is so clingy and he'll kinda make slot 7 conscious of him. izumi is even more clingy when he realizes he's got a crush, tbh. but honestly, i think they really balanced each other out, and i feel that he's the person that izumi would be most comfortable around

— relationship: they'd honestly probably get together in a ridiculously awkward way. like izumi would probably casually slip in a confession and not even notice until five minutes later and slot 7 would be so confused. all this kinda depends on how the character for slot 7 is, but i think they'd have a really fluffy relationship. izumi's pretty much helpless in slot 7's eyes, so he'd baby him more than necessary.

— scenes with love interest: I'd definitely want them to have like a dancing scen, ya feel. since izumi practices dance at night, I think it'd be nice if slot 7 would wake up in the middle of the night and see him practicing and start helping him out. i think another nice scene would be izumi sharing his songwriting notebook with slot 7 and maybe singing a few of the songs to him and teaching him what they all mean in japanese. also izumi totally wrote a song about slot 7 and was super embarrassed and didn't want to share it, but slot 7 pestered him to. maybe another scene could be in their trainee years when izumi wasn't that familiar with korean and slot 7 kinda makes fun of him when he makes mistakes, but he definitely would help him out when he needed the help.

— which member would you be close with: slot 6 ; i think they would be somewhat kindred spirits since they are both super energetic.

— scene requests: i think a scene of him doing a video for twitter or youtube or something and pestering slot 7 and slot 9 in the morning would be nice. oh, and i definitely think him singing one of his own songs that he wrote for the fans, whether online or at a fan meeting, would be great! lastly, i think he should be like the aegyo master. i guess that's less of scene thing and more of a trivia thing or something, but he'd definitely do lots of aegyo during fan meetings.
