  1. Hello and welcome to Learning English with Lyrics, my name is Jake and today's song is...well there is no song today, I am on vacation this week! However, I thought it might be a good moment to introduce myself, to tell you all a little bit about me.
  2.
  3. As you probably know by now, my name is Jake, which is short for Jacob. I usually go by Jake, but really don't mind if people call me Jacob. I like them both! You decide!
  4.
  5. I am an American by birth, though currently I live in France. I speak English primarily, though I've become relatively fluent in French over the past few years.
  6.
  7. I am married, and I have two beautiful children, a boy and a girl. I absolutely love being a father, it's one of the biggest joys in my life!
  8.
  9. I love language and I love music, but I am not an expert in either one, so you'll certainly have to forgive some mistakes from time to time. Personally, I love listening to almost every genre of music! I don't like everything that I hear, but I am always open to new sounds and ideas!
  10.
  11. I enjoy making this podcast, and I love that you, the listeners, have enjoyed listening to it! I hope to continue to make the podcast for a long time!
  12.
  13. If you'd like to help the podcast out, there's a few things you can do!
  14.
  15. The number one thing you can do is to tell your friends about us! Nothing spreads the word faster about a podcast than you telling people about it! Think about someone today you can tell! It would be a huge help to us!
  16.
  17. The second thing you can do is to follow us on Instagram! You can find us at lelpodcast, and we post regularly. You can even send us messages on there!
  18.
  19. Finally, you can send us some info about *your* English learning. We have listeners from all over the world, and each country has their own preferred social networks and internet forums they talk on. I live in a very English (and French) bubble, so I often don't know how to advertise the podcast, since I don't know where non-native speakers hang out! Send me your websites and forums where you discuss learning languages with others, that would be a huge help to us!
  20.
  21. Thank you all so much for listening, and for those of you who have sent messages! I can't express enough how encouraging it is for me to receive your kind messages. I hope this podcast has been helpful to you all!
  22.
  23. Well, that's all I've got for this week. Look for a new song next week! I'll talk to you then.
