background: she was born in new york and lived in china town until she was 13, and her eldest brother was going to college at seoul national university. her dad had acquired a new job in korea not long after, and she soon moved to seoul with her parents and 15-year old brother. she found it hard to make friends in korea, despite picking up the language and culture easily. she found similarities between the cities of seoul and new york: lots of people, lots of noises, and too much commotion. So she spent most of her time at home drawing and watching tv. Interestingly enough, she found a group of friends who made up for bashfulness and sulking in their ability to talk the ear off of any guy and make jokes like it was second-nature. She found amusement in them and they acted as a buffer between her and everybody else. She rarely actually talked to them, but the bond was still there. They resorted to calling her their daughter.
