{kocs; prompt 73 – height difference kiss}

There would be times that Chisato despised how the small Kaoru grown towering away from her in term of heights.

It wasn’t like she would call it unfair per se as no one would be small forever, or if she would count some biological terminologies to the mix, but she is internally missed that moment when she could reach out and kiss Kaoru’s forehead on a whim. Kaoru was easily scared, sometimes she would cry for a small reason, and a little kiss was one way to make her calm down, or perhaps her attention shifted on wondering what Chisato was doing at that time.

“Why are you looking me with that eyes, Chisato? Did my charm—“

“No, you know that’s not even the case.”

Chisato effectively shut her train of explanation before it went to the direction she doesn’t like. They were sitting, fortunately, in the silence of afternoon in Hazawa Coffee but the height difference is, of course, not going anywhere. Kaoru must have noticed that Chisato’s eyes were keeping on fixating to her way, then the purple-haired girl settled her chin on her arm, perplexed.

“What is it?” her voice is lower, there’s a bit of worry in there despite the casual, normal nuance. “Do you despise our outing together that much?”

“You know that’s not even the case as well, Kaoru.”

“Then, what is it? You are one to keep people hanging.”

There Kaoru spared a chuckle. It was not annoying per se in Chisato’s taste. It was not like Kaoru is there to tease her or to play it cool, she was genuinely concerned – her eyes never lie.

“Lower your head for a bit.”

Kaoru did as told, not questioning the blonde’s strange request. On her end, Chisato didn’t waste the chance to place a kiss on her forehead. She still need to stretch up a bit to reach her, though, and Chisato didn’t mind. The touch left Kaoru agape, as if her jaw was close to fall. Chisato waited until Kaoru stopped from her trance to smile, cheeks tinted pink in utmost fondness that Chisato couldn’t help but to second guess herself on doing it again.

“… Don’t make me to repeat myself.”

“You can do it as much as you want, you know.”

“Kaoru.”

“You know that’s not even the case, eh, Chisato.”
