  42. On first contact with an aircraft, you must identify yourself:
  43.
  44. "BAW123, Manchester Ground, cleared to ..."
  45.
  46. Also, remember that you can't say "cleared to destination". If you don't know the name of the destination, spell out the ICAO code.
  47.
  48.
  49.
  50. Another thing I picked up on and mentioned during the sessions was pilots callsign up without the correct details, For example:
  51.
  52. "TOM2H, Request Clearance To Madrid."
  53.
  54. "TOM2H, Report your aircraft type and ATIS letter."
  55.
  56. "TOM2H, Stand 202, Infomation A."

  69.
  70. Pace and Clarity
  71.
  72. I am a victim to this but remember, Push to talk not Push to think.
  73.
  74.
  75.
  76. Make sure you think about what you say before you say it, otherwise, there are umm's and ahh's on frequency. Please think about what you need to say before you tell an aircraft to standby.
  77.
  78. Text communications
  79.
  80. This wasn't covered in this session, but have a look in your euroscope documents folder:
  81.
  82. \Documents\EuroScope\UK\Data\Alias
  83.
  84. The text document inside of this folder will show all the possible auto-generated text messages that can be used to send to the aircraft.
  85.
  86. The main ones used for ground are:
  87.
  88. .rsn Report your stand number
  89.

  115.
  116. The $1 and $2 are place holders and can be selected with the TAB key to swtich through.
  117.
  118. Anything other than 1,2 or 3 have preset values that you can quickly send: For example:

  159. Co-ordination
  160.
  161. To talk to the controllers on Teamspeak for clearances etc use their coordination name:

  188.
  189. Some controllers don’t like using TS3, note this is a minority and can cause some issues. If you need to coordinate with someone that isn't on TS3, double click on the controller in the controller list, and enter it in the text entry box in Euroscope.
  190.
  191. Co-ordination with TWR - departures (as necessary), VFR traffic

  202.
  203. SANBA Restriction:
  204.
  205. Westbound Ops (23'S) - When the Aircraft's takeoff weight is less than 35 tons (This is safe to assume or ask the Question to the A/C) The pilots must fly the LISTO2R departure, Using this reroute: LISTO L612 HON. If the aircraft's takeoff weight is more than 35 tones the pilots must fly on the SANBA1R departure, using this reroute: SANBA N859 HON.
  206.
  207. Eastbound Ops (05'S) - There is no restriction with the SANBA as the LISTO departure does not exist on 05's so pilots must fly on the SANBA1S departure, using this reroute: SANBA N859 HON.
  208.
  209. Flights to LTMA Restriction:
  210.
  211. Flights to the London Terminal Maneuvering Area, Need to go not above FL190. This is done to keep them on the Lower Airways, and to deconflict from LTMA flights into Manchester.
