  1. 5) Conflict
  2.
  3. 5a) Conflict in the server, currently, is very, very tiresome, from both a long-term and short-term standpoint. People complain incessantly about CombatRP and people very much dislike opposing factions. As a result, I think that things should be changed, for the better.
  4.
  5. 5b) CombatRP is S2RP for a reason - it’s to ensure that players do not lose based on OOC skill, instead of IC skill. This is good - it makes combat more akin to a game of XCOM (or, more close-to-home, like playing Fallout with VATS), and that’s how it should be. The problem, though, is that the people on Generation Roleplay tend to perform in 10 or 20 line actions, meaning there is often a two-to-three minute pause between every action in combat. This makes it not flow well, and makes it incredibly confusing when Joe Bloggs does a 4-line /me, and Charles Junkrat does a 20-line /me.
  6.
  7. Is this a criticism of how people RP? No. People can do 20-line /mes in passive, sure - I do that myself - but CombatRP should flow, not take hours-upon-hours, to the point where it is stigmatised as confusing and difficult.
  8.
  9. 5c) Conflict from factions is incredibly disliked by the playerbase, to the point where any person who creates a raider faction, or anything that may harm someone IC, is insta-killed by whiteknights. This is a sad factor that will always exist - people will whiteknight in any scenario - but, frankly, it’s ridiculous now. Factions that are not specifically admin-backed are not capable of getting off the ground, and will always be destroyed within their first week by what has been referred to by many as “the power armor death squad” (these individuals know who they are, I don’t).

  11. I don’t really have a solution for this. Whiteknights are something IC that is dealt with IC. I do think it should be encouraged for people to make raider factions by having them have a three-life rule, though. The idea is simple:
  12.
  13. Person applies for faction via Discord or some other channel
  14. They are added to a spreadsheet (I can maintain it or someone else)
  15. Every member of the faction is added to the spreadsheet and has 3 lives before they are PKed. Every death is an NLR.
  16.
  17. This sort of admin-backing may encourage more creative and dangerous behaviour from people. I don’t know, I’m probably going to get called stupid for suggesting it, and I need to flesh this idea out further.
