  1. A particularly hard month has befallen Garu Two-Eyes. Freshly booted from his sea side cave dwelling society, the squat magic practicing lizard resorted to scampering across the coastline; scooping up wayward crabs or low tide exposed mussels for sustenance. Mobile only at night, Garu found himself ill equipped to deal with the perils of the outside world for his knowledge and ability in the arcane arts was only in it's infancy.
  2.
  3. In the midst of starvation, Garu finally made contact with beings of the outside world in the form of a burly squad of pirates from a ship called The Thresher, burying a stash just beyond the shore. Garu approached to seek refuge and was greeted by the ship's captain. (Barbosa) ((Not my name idea, recycled character to make this fit))
  4.
  5. Barbosa refused to allow Garu on board, claiming that he had no use for such a small pathetic creature save for maybe someone to eat the ships ever worsening rat infestation. Garu took the captains jeer as a literal job offer and accepted the roll as the ship's official mouser. Barbosa was so amused by the situation he allowed him on board.

  7. The following weeks were hell for Garu despite his full belly. Barbosa and the crew treated him worse than a common cabin dog, booting him from their paths as they walked by and barraging him with endless strings of defacing insults. The crew of the boat bestowed him the nickname “Snack” and joked that if rations ever wore thin, he would be first to be cooked and eaten by the captain himself.
  8.
  9. The Thresher at last made landfall at the docks just outside the city of Yeostan. A crew of three left the ship in order to purchase goods from the city. Later that day, only two returned. Garu overheard the two crew mates explain to the captain that the other crew member by the name of Mitchell had abandoned the crew in order to join another crew that they met in the city. This crew lead by a half elf named Elizabeth.
  10.
  11. Enraged, Barbosa swore revenge against Elizabeth for luring one of his own away and was pleased to learn her personal ship and crew had been docked right beside his. (Her ship of course being foolishly called “The Elizabeth”)
  12.
  13. Knowing of the Kobold's ability in the dark, Barbosa ordered Garu to sneak on board and alert The Thresher when everyone in the enemy crew had laid their head to sleep for the night. Garu obliged.
  14.
  15. When the time came. Garu signaled The Thresher with a small zap from his fingers and to his surprise, prompted a volley of cannon fire that shredded the enemies crews quarters before anyone was the wiser. Garu himself was caught in the onslaught, for Barbosa never intended for the lizard to return to his ship. After a hail of oil soaked fire arrows torched what was left of the hull, Barbosa and The Thresher sailed for new land without their official mouser. Garu once again found himself scuttled in unfamiliar territory after unwillingly having to sentence The Elizabeth to death.

  17. Lord only knows what he will have to say for himself once the owner of the ship returns...
