BACKGROUND :

 she had a pretty happy childhood in america. she knew more mandarin than korean because her mom spent more time at home with her than her father. she has a pretty good relationship with her brothers. they annoy her, she annoys them. she had a close relationship with everyone in her family besides her father, but that was because of lack of communication because he was usually working. since she wanted to spend more time with her dad, she manipulated him into staying at home more with her persuasiveness. she got amazing grades at school in order to impress her parents (especially her dad), and surprisingly passed gym. she grew up in an environment that allowed her to explore her mind. there were many times where she acted like a brat simply because of her not getting what she wanted, like not making it to playoffs. although it was kind of her fault for not completely trying. she passed her classes that allowed her to showcase her creativeness with flying colors (although how do colors relate to grades?????).

PERSONALITY :
 the best word to describe wen is surprising. she has many sides that many don't know of, so much that she doesn't even know. a major characteristic of hers is her creativeness. this trait has affected her interests and life. she only gets majorly into a project if it's something she really likes. when she gets in that mode, no one can really distract her.

she's also pretty nice. if she has no reason to dislike you, she won't. in general she treats people she doesn't know or just recently met, both respectfully and kindly, not wanting to be thought of as rude.

however, once people get close to her, she gets all confident and makes the lamest jokes. when people say that it (the weather) is hot, she says sorry with an unashamed grin. she also makes terrible puns that people don't understand because of the language, or simply because of how bad they are.

she's persuasive. growing up, she's used to getting things her way (besides her dad staying home like she wanted him to). either that, or the outcome of a situation is heavily influenced by her. although wen calls this trait as persuasiveness, her friends say that she's manipulative. this side used to come out all the time, but since she's 'trying' to mature, wen is trying to tone this down. so this side only comes out unless she's really, really, annoyed at something. which hasn't been happening as much, which is why the new people she's met are surprised when they see this trait.

she's generally happy. even though she sometimes acts moody or like a brat, she's mostly happy. wen has never had any valid reason to hate her life, and instead is grateful for all the sacrifices her parents made for her and her brothers.

usually wen can ready people well. like she can tell when people want to be alone, want someone to talk to, or just some peace of quiet. the majority of the time, she knows that people don't want to hear her lame jokes yet she still does it.

even though she's pretty good at reading people, she can also be inconsiderate. since she's good at reading people, she thinks she knows exactly what the person needs. as a result wen can be perceived as pushy.

wen is pretty smart. she wanted to be more acknowledged by her seemingly always working father, so because of that she became all studious. since the majority of the time she's been right, her confidence is pretty good. however that plummets when wen has to learn korean and somehow massacres the language.

wen unconsciously has the tendency to take over projects, thinking that she's the smartest. so when she's proven wrong, she shuts up and feels all small.

wen has a problem with losing, admitting she's wrong, and apologizing. however she's especially been trying to fix the last one.

i don't know if this counts as a personality trait, but she likes dressing up. wen likes wearing nice dresses and clothes paired with minimal makeup, but she does still like comfortable clothing.

overall, she's that type of girl who seems all chill, somewhat cute and mature, but ends up being that manipulative girl who loves dad jokes.

HIS PERSONALITY : he's pretty known because of how his personality and aura contrast against each other. he looks tough, but in reality he's a total cheeseball who's actually really sweet. however, that's a side that not many have seen. in class, he's all suave and charismatic which in turn resulted in many girls getting attracted to him. however he wants someone that he likes.

HOW YOU ACT AROUND HIM :
 beginning ‣ she barely knew of his existence. she thought he was a little weird because she saw him staring at her a lot, but does nothing. however, she did find him attractive but she had priorities and getting a boyfriend wasn't one of them. so she proceeds with her life.

 middle ‣ she noticed how he came whenever it was her shift at the library. she found it kind of cute how 'chill' he tried to act around her.

when he offers to help her korean, she starts getting used to his presence and finds herself looking forward to it. he said some phrases to her that she didn't understand during their study sessions, and she frowned confusedly because she doesn't like not understanding things.

the days that she doesn't work, she still smiles at him in class, but he's always looking away. then she noticed that he's beginning to avoid her and acts much more quiet in their little meet ups. she finds out that she missed the old him and is worried about what's going on.

she asks what's wrong but gets a curt response. then she says that's she's wondering because she likes him, except she accidentally says that she doesn't like him.

 end ‣ they confess their feelings and get together. she gets all happy whenever she's with him. she ends up being the type of couple she disliked seeing, but she doesn't even care because it's with him.

HOW HE ACTS AROUND YOU :
 beginning ‣ he saw her when fire truck was giving her a tour. at first, he only found her attractive but then he started noticing her personality and the little things she did. she found her confusion cute. his eyes were always drawn to her whenever she smiled, and suddenly he found himself wanting to know more. he shares some classes with her, and tried to start up conversations with her. since she was still learning korean, she gave him short answers. he got captivated by her eyes and smile, and this is when his friends started teasing him for having a crush who makes him all nervous and who isn't interested in him (although they're not having much progress either, so ... ).

 middle ‣ one day, he goes to the library and finds out that she works there. he starts going there whenever she's working and since he found out that she can speak mandarin, he checks out books that teach the language just to impress her. he tries to stay there as long as he can, and talks with her. he offers to help her with her korean if she helps him with some of his essays and she accepts.

now that they're in closer proximity, he starts falling for her even more and finds himself blushing or looking away whenever she smiles or makes eye contact with him. he loves her laugh, and loves being the cause of her laughter which happens a lot because of how awkward he gets around her. he also laughs a lot when he tries to break the awkward silence that comes after her saying a joke that doesn't even make sense. but he stills laughs.

he tries pulling out some pickup lines, but ends up failing because she doesn't really understand them. then whenever he sees her in class, she's frowning at him. he takes this as a sign and gives up at trying to woo her heart, and dramatically decides that maybe this relationship was only going to be one sided, so he sadly decided to love her from afar. his heart sinks even more when she tells him that she doesn't like him.

 end ‣ after they cleared of the misunderstanding, and after both confessed, he goes back to being all flustered only this time time he's confident enough to get all cheesy and sappy with her.

 ‣ whenever she asks him to do her a favor and he says no, she uses the excuse that she's older than him by like two months against him

SUGGESTED SCENES :
 ‣ instead of telling him that she likes him for the first time, she accidentally says 'i don't like you' (this is because of her dumb overly protective brothers who 'accidentally' taught her wrong). he goes still with his expression falling. so since she thinks that he's reacting like this because he's shocked at her confession, she smiles, which ends up making him feel like his whole world exploded. then she asks him what's wrong. suddenly they're in a childish argument that somehow ends up being about that they would never work because she wants to get a pet rock but he wants to get a fish. then a few days later, she confesses correctly and he nearly cried in happiness.

 ‣ so in their winter break, he gets invited to meet her family. he makes a pretty good impression with his introduction. then at dinner, he tries impressing her family with his developing mandarin skills. however, instead of saying something like 'your daughter is a very nice person' he says something completely inappropriate which in turn starts an argument between wen, her brothers and her mother.

and there's just him looking confused, while her father is eating as if nothing is going on.

 ‣ so she and the girls decide to just chill and end up throwing a small rooftop barbecue. they talk about their grades, their love lives, and just random things. however, one of the girls was in charge of manning the grill, but she gets distracted. a small fire starts and they begin freaking out, when suddenly a neighbor comes up to see the commotion and saves the day.
