  3. At (803923F4/806B6A8C) there is a function which checks Link + (69D/AA5). If this is nonzero, it jumps to a function which will end up assigning an animation for a cutscene item, (80391A9C/806B604C). This latter function contains a bunch of cases based on the action parameter at Link + (144/14A). If none of its cases are matched, the animation to which it defaults is playing ocarina. Ocarina items delays the start of a cs item (which set Link + (69D/AA5) when pressed) and allows you to change the action parameter to that of another item. Most items you could use (e.g. swords, shooting items, etc..) have action parameters that are not in the cases of (80391A9C/806B604C), so behave as ocarina.
