  1. [21:14] Revan Task says, "Oh.. Father.. I wished to speak with you"
  2. [21:14] Revan Task says, "My guild has been given a quest to the Spirit Realm"
  3. [21:14] Revan Task says, "I.. Was hoping you could educate me"
  4. [21:17] Revan Task says, "... Hades says that.. Energy magic.. And Mysticism go hand in hand.. And could guide us to our goal.."
  5. [21:17] Revan Task says, "I thought.. if anyone knew of such.. it would be you."
  6. [21:18] Dun Task says, "Hmm."
  7. [21:18] Dun Task says, "Hmmmmm."
  8. [21:19] Dun Task says, "Hmmmmmmmmmm"
  9. [21:20] Revan sweats bullets.
  10. (Revan Task)
  11. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  12.
  13. [21:20] Dun Task says, "Depends on where in particular you're going, but yes, if you seek to master energy magic, facing the trials of the eight realms in any manner tends to be a good start for invigoration the spirit and testing one's resolve."
  14. [21:20] Revan Task says, "It is one I believe.. I am ready for.. However.. I know.. little of the Eight Realms."
  15. [21:21] Dun Task says, "Hmm."
  16. [21:22] Dun Task says, "I will prepare a crash course."
  17. [21:22] Dun Task says, "Go cut wood FOR HALF AN OUR TO HARDEN AND DRAIN THE BODY."
  18. [21:23] Revan Task says, "Thank you, father, I am.. Very excited to study under you once again."
  19. [21:23] Revan Task exclaims, "Y-yes father!"
  20. [21:23] Revan Task says, "I will return post haste."
  21. [21:32] Doing just as his father had requested of him, the young Task would spring off down the mountainside to begin the arduous process of draining his body by cutting lumber. What could this process have served? Aside from just making him waste time while his father prepared the lesson.
  22.
  23. Could he truly only hone his spirit when his body was weak? Or would the training he go through require his body to be even more durable to endure the trials his father had in mind? He couldn't truly fathom his father's goals with his request, though Revan would punch trees until they toppled over in a pile of splinters. Going until he couldn't keep his arms up, and then he would kick them until he could barely stand.
  24. (Revan Task)
  25. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  26.
  27. [21:38] {Item} You picked up Crimson Reed..
  28. [21:59] His body was heavy, even after revitalizing some of his energy reserves with some protein, he felt is body wearing down. However, he had to keep pushing himself- he had to make sure his body was thoroughly drained, just as his father asked of him.
  29. (Revan Task)
  30. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  31.
  32. [22:02] Revan collapses in the chair beside his father.
  33. (Revan Task)
  34. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  35.
  36. [22:02] Revan Task says, "It is done."
  37. [22:05] Dun Task says, "Attaboy."
  38. [22:05] Dun Task says, "Where is the wood."
  39. [22:05] Dun Task says, "I require it for scrolls."
  40. [22:06] {Item} You drop Wood x629.
  41. [22:06] Revan drops the lumber he collected- picking a few splinters from his fist and shin.
  42. (Revan Task)
  43. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  44.
  45. [22:12] Dun would somehow tuck the entire, massive pile of lumber into one of his myriad pockets, no doubt some wizard trickery of the highest quality. This was the way of wizards, and especially clowns, but particularly clown wizards, so it was no surprise.
  46.
  47. "I will give you the crash course without all the fancy details because adventure is half the fun. The First three realms of note are the elemental ramp, the disk of all that is. Terraheim of the earth, a land of soul steel, living stone, and endless caverns. Ifraheim of the flame, heart of fire, a molten plane of burning magma seas, planes of searing ash, and air so clogged with smoke and fumes one's lungs themselves would be tried to breathe. Then there is Uraheim of the water, the heart of winter, the essence of cold. A bottomless sea with frozen spires and mountains amongst it, as vast as it is alien and eldritch. Up and down, left and right, far and close, they matter little there. The mist is eternal."
  48.
  49. Dun would nod steadily, gesturing to his son.
  50.
  51. "They surround in a ramp Alfheim, the second largest plane in the spirit realm. The land of the non-magi spirits, commoners and craftsman of low blood living in piece in endless villages and prairies. The place where your ancestors are, boy."
  52. (Dun Task)
  53. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  54.
  55. [22:22] Revan had pushed himself thoroughly, draining his body and hardening against the trunks of trees until he could no longer lift his arms, and then he would start kicking until he struggled to stand. Following his father's request to the letter, his body would be exhausted to where his mind would find itself malleable, ready to accept his father's teachings.
  56.
  57. He was used to the temporal and spatial shenanigans of his father's pockets, and he was not terribly surprised by such a trick at this age. However, the knowledge shared of him would be invaluable. He wished he could lift his arms, or he'd be taking notes, however, he would have to dedicate the names and their descriptions to memory.
  58.
  59. Terraheim: Earth and Soul steel, living rock. Ifraheim: flame, fire, burning seas and brimstone. Uraheim: water, ice, and a blinding mist.
  60.
  61. As his father spoke, there would be a nod to show he was listening, though it seemed like theirquest would lead them into the blinding mists of Uraheim.. Surely there would be an Axolotl who had found sanctuary in the concealed mountains.
  62.
  63. Though Alfheim was something that took great interest to him, his ancestors were there? The other three had formed a ramp to it? Would that mean he would have to traverse the other realms to make it there?
  64.
  65. ".. I see.. Father.. How does one enter to the Spirit Realm? And.. Does one have to go traverse each of these realms to make it to the successive realm?" None of this information would do the bandaged Task any good if he couldn't get there in the first place.
  66. (Revan Task)
  67. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  68.
  69. [22:27] "The other half of the spirit realm is where things get complicated, so let's leave that for a later lecture. Those four realms are the ones relevant to your interests as one attuned to the elements, that of nature."
  70.
  71. The elder of the Fireblooded would nod steadily. Only when Revan had truly steeled himself would he be ready to take on the greater trials of the upper and lower realms.
  72.
  73. "As for entering it, there's no easy answer. Rifts and portals can be found in obscurity with little guaranteed safety, astral projection is a common option, but that's what my final project is focused on in truth, my son. Answering that question. How do I enter the spirit realm?"
  74.
  75. Dun would wave his prismarine gauntleted hand through the air with a contemplative click of his teeth.
  76.
  77. "If I have my way, through a nice door. But for now, that will be part of the adventure for you lad, this is the way. Such discoveries and dangerous living will refine your body and spirit alike in the pursuit of strength."
  78. (Dun Task)
  79. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  80.
  81. [22:40] There would be a mindful nod, hearing the complexities and intricacies of the greater realms of the Spirit world. They were something that intrigued him, his adventurous spirit wishing to see and experience them all- to truly test his mettle and rise above any trial they could put before him.
  82.
  83. ".. So we will have to find a rift then.. Very well.." It was the more dangerous method, but he was unsure if all of his guildmembers were capable of accomplishing astral projection- let alone Revan himself, even though it is something he wished to practice.
  84.
  85. There would be another nod as he admired the prismarine gauntlet, his Father's longest running project, something he wished to help him complete. It was one of his incentives for finding the guild he was apart of, to train hardy adventurers capable of delving into the Spirit Realm to do what had to to finish it.
  86.
  87. "I promise, Father, my guild and I will grow strong enough to handle any challenges that the Eight Realms may face us with. Together we will help you complete your wish.." He would peer doing thinking, clicking his own teeth as he contemplated any other questions he may have.
  88.
  89. "Father.. I believe our quest leads us to Uraheim.. Yet.. If we can not trust our senses.. If we can not trust maps or direction.. I will need a new way to see.. To guide us through the maddening mists.. Is that something I can achieve with my raw mana?"
  90. (Revan Task)
  91. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  92.
  93. [22:45] Dun would nod steadily as he heard out his young son with a thoughtful click of his teeth, smiling lightly in pleasure to here that, at the least, he possessed some form of ambition in his life. The old man's time left in this realm was short, these boys would be who he left behind. The better off he left them, the better.
  94.
  95. "I believe you will my son. Though you are still young, perhaps focus on smaller monster hunts until you fully mature. I mean, no fear naturally, but the realms are a dangerous and viscous place of reality."
  96.
  97. The elder of the Fireblooded would nod firmly.
  98.
  99. "It is something an energy magi of note should be capable of. To sense the flow of mana, the flow of life in the air around you. As a blind man, it is my only form of sight, so I've achieved naturally a far higher level of sensory capability than most with it, but even you could possess such talents with enough practice."
  100.
  101. Dun would snap his fingers.
  102.
  103. "Meditation is key. Emptying your mind entirely, putting yourself into a trance, and honestly sensing the flow of life around you. The lifestream that is knitted into the fabric of reality around you. This is the first step to understand, and truly sensing the movement and flow of mana."
  104.
  105. The old jester would chuckle.
  106.
  107. "Once you get sensing down, you can move on to the fist of Id, the way of willpower, the gentle killing art of my prodigy, mute mentor from ninety years past, and the very way of the fist I used to conquer Theria in my prime."
  108. (Dun Task)
  109. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  110.
  111. [23:00] There would be a thoughtful expression on his son's face as he took the wise clown's words to heart. He was telling him to pace himself, never to let fear hold him back, which he never did, but to not bite off more than he could chew before he was ready.
  112.
  113. ".. I understand.. Father.. There are still plenty of challenges in this world that I must surpass first before I going diving into the deep end."
  114.
  115. He would humbly hold his head down, though as his father answered him of how to gain vision beyond that of his eyes. It was fascinating, though it would remind him of an experience he had just had recently. He was sparring with a guildmate, Fenes, and her poison had blinded him.
  116.
  117. He refused to surrender, he would not succumb to panic. He would let his other sense fade, relying on his mana to guide him- it was his own mana that he placed in her to disrupt her circuitry that tipped him off to her location. If he already showed an aptitude for it, then surely it wouldn't be that hard?
  118.
  119. Getting a taste of it in battle, he would listen closely as his father gave him the steps it would take to hone such a skill. The Lifestream that is knitted into the fabric of reality around you. Revan had only ever used his mana to bolster his own power, it wasn't until recently he used it to imbue into plants and crops, growing them more effectively only to further grow his own body.. However.. Would that be the answer he needed to connect everything he learned.
  120.
  121. One would think that the Tasks could communicate only through the clicks they made behind their teeth, though it was a quirk he had picked up from his Father, and Thalis. Revan's would be one of great intrigue hearing of the fist of Id. The very way of fist I used to conquer Theria in my Prime.
  122.
  123. "I must learn this form." he would declare abruptly, standing with renewed vigor of hearing of such a powerful technique. "I will train diligently, father. My body has been honed as best as I can.. However, it is time for me to focus on my spirit, to sharpen my mind.. I will begin meditating at once.. And return when I feel I am ready for your lessons."
  124. (Revan Task)
  125. [23:05] Dun Task says, "Certainly my son."
  126. [23:05] Dun Task says, "Safe travels naturally. When you are ready, I will guide you going forward."
