Hold the wall

"Hey Gary, you ever think that maybe the monster's aren't trying to kill us?"
	Gary looks to his left at his slightly portly friend with a look of pure confusion on his face. These men were assigned for the late evening guard shift for their town's walls. Like a true odd couple, Gary was skinny and fairly tall, while Mark was more rotund and shorter.
	"Mark, what in the Chief god are you talking about? You know that these creatures only want to deceive us and eat our souls!"
	"I understand all that, but look over there." Mark counters, pointing towards the dark forest surrounding the eastern edge of the town. At the tree line a well endowed wolf girl has taken off her top and is flashing the two men while beckoning them to join her. 		"She doesn't seem to want to suck out our souls."
	"Mark, that's how they trick you! She seduces you and then sucks out your soul!"
	"Wouldn't there be easier ways to do that? I mean, they are super strong and stuff right?"
	"I mean, you saw what the spider thing did to Frank." Gary responds, grimacing. Mark shakes his head and whistles.
	"Poor Frank. But that is the point!, why don't they just break in and kill all of us?"
	"Because of our training and well defended walls?" queries Gary.
	"You and I can hardly use a spear! Remember when that Harpy grabbed Chris?"
	"Good times."
	Mark looks to his friend and looks back at the seductive wolf at the forest line. A look of determination crosses his face as he lowers a ladder down off the side of the wall.
	"Mark,the hell are you doing?"
	"I'm going to go ask her." Mark Responds, attaching his spear to his back.
	"She's going to steal your soul."
	"Eh, if it gets me off of guard duty."
 Gary watches as his portly friend makes a tremendous effort climbing down the ladder and making his way towards the monster, who is quickly becoming more and more excited as he approaches. Much to the surprise of Gary, Mark reaches the creature and starts talking to her. Due to how far away the tree line is, he cannot make out what they are saying, but it seems the girl is maintaining a conversation with Mark. After about 10 minutes, they grab each others hand/paw, shake, and Mark begins to make his way back and up the ladder.
	"How'd it go? She try to steal your soul?"
	"No, mainly she talked about how she wanted to have sex with me. It was pretty nice the way she kept calling me 'built'."
	Gary fails to suppress a laugh as Mark looks at him with disdain, "She was kind! I'm going to talk to her again tommorrow, and told me that if my other friend wants to come along, she knows a nice mantis that's been looking at you."
	Leaning on the side of the battlements, the lanky solider ponders, "Fuck it, if your going to lose your soul to some monster, I might as well come along too. I don't want to leave my best friend to die alone. Plus if you die I'm going to have to explain why I didn't stop you, and that sounds like way too much work."
 Mark lets out a resounding laugh as he playfully punches Gary in the arm.
	"That's the spirit!"
