Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

We thank you for this day and for this opportunity to hear your word and to learn from your servant. We thank you for the message that you have given us today about the rise and fall of empires and their relevance to the Adventist prophetic interpretation. We thank you for showing us how you have been in control of history and how you have a plan for your people and for this world.

We acknowledge that we are living in the time of the end and that we need to be ready for your soon return. We ask you to forgive us for our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We ask you to fill us with your Holy Spirit and to give us wisdom, courage, and love.

We ask you to give us wisdom to understand the times we are living in and the prophecies that are being fulfilled. We ask you to help us study your word and to listen to your voice. We ask you to help us discern between truth and error and between light and darkness.

We ask you to give us courage to face the challenges and the trials that we will go through and to stand up for your truth. We ask you to help us overcome fear and doubt and discouragement. We ask you to help us be faithful and loyal to you and to your commandments.

We ask you to give us love to share the gospel and the three angels’ messages with others and to show them your character and your grace. We ask you to help us be compassionate and kind and generous. We ask you to help us be a light and a salt in this world.

We thank you for your promises and your power and your love for us. We thank you for Jesus and his salvation and his soon return. We thank you for the hope and the joy that we have in him. We praise you for your grace and your mercy and your forgiveness.

We ask all these things in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
