  1. >You're Anon
  2. >And school's out for the day!
  3. >Woo!
  4. >It's friday!
  5. >Friday!
  6. >Gotta get down on friday!
  7. >You're pretty much running out of school
  8. >When you get out on the street, you switch to walking as fast as you can without looking like a total spaz
  9. >Destination: 4chinz Mall
  10. >You take a deep breath of the fresh air and admire the blue sky
  11. >It's pretty
  12. >And reminds you of...
  13. >Of her eyes
  14. >Heh, brings a smile to your face whenever you think about them.
  15. >Maybe it’s love at first sight.
  16. >Maybe it’s the hormones.
  17. >Maybe it’s Maybelline™.
  18. >But still
  19. >Your heart beat faster when you thought of her.
  20. >Your mind melted at the idea.
  21. >You made it to the mall in one piece, no big anime-style plot devices sweeping you into a world of giant mechs
  22. >Oh well
  23. >You said you'd meet her at the ice cream bar, right?
  24. >You peek over a railing and see a now-familiar head of pink hair
  25. >She's talking to someone
  26. >You can't make out their words, but body language and tone of voice suggests it's not exactly a friendly conversation
  27. >You head down to their floor and stay back a bit behind Pinkamena's back, observing the situation
  28. >You notice two things in particular
  29. >Like, except the looks they're getting from all the bystanders
  30. >One, Pinkamena is aggressive, but not moving or gesturing a lot. There's something creepy about it
  31. >And two, the other girl, who's gesturing quite a lot, has rainbow-colored hair
  32. >What
  33. >You wait for their conversation to end
  34. >Then an additional couple of minutes
  35. >*Then* you approach he
  36. "Hey"
  37. >You sit down across from her
  38. >She turns her head towards you with a lifeless motion
  39. >Then perks up the slightest bit
  40. >"Oh. Hi."
  41. >She zips down the hoodie and shrugs it off, handing it to you
  42. >You take it - and it smells..sweet, and immensely comforting
  43. >Oh
  44. >That's...her scent on it
  45. >[Blushes internally]
  46. >You push that away for now
  47. >The girl's clearly hurting
  48. "You okay?"
  49. >She sighs, and looks down at the table
  50. >"No."
  51. >She sounds so sad
  52. >So...defeated
  53. >Shit, of course she does
  54. >Spats with friends are devastating to you, but at least guys have an easier time making up
  55. >You regard her for a bit
  56. >Then you get up and head to the counter
  57. >You order chocolate ice cream for yourself, and chance on a pistachio for her
  58. >You pay and go sit down with her again, handing her the ice cream
  59. >She looks at you, both confused and grateful
  60. >You sample your fatty treat
  61. "I couldn't think of anything to say"
  62. >You smile apologetically
  63. >She exhales through her nose in what you deem an amused fashion, then starts practically devouring the ice cream
  64. >How she avoids brain freeze, don't know
  65. >After finishing the ice cream, she looks at you again, pistachio at the corners of her mouth
  66. >She still looks pretty deflated, though
  67. >You tilt your head a bit
  68. "Care to share what's got ya down?"
  69. >She nods
  70. >"I..just kind of had a falling out with a friend. Several, actually."
  71. "Oh. Damn. Those suck."
  72. >Smoooth
  73. >"See, I...kind of tried to get back into touch with a friend that's close to me. With a prank. I...yeah, that's very grade-school, but it's also one of the things I do best. I thought she, being a straight-A student could use a laugh in her day."
  74. >You nod
  75. "But?"
  76. >"But instead she got mad! They all got mad! Dashie came by a few minutes before you to rub it all in, too!"
  77. >Ohh sweet lord, tread carefully
  78. >You let her cool off for a bit
  79. "Would you mind telling me a bit more about your friends?"
  80. >She winces as if stung by a bee or something
  81. "O-or at least about the one your pranked?"
  82. >She gives a heavy sigh
  83. >"Twilight Sparkle. I met her at the end of grade school. She's good with school and that sort of stuff. She used to be really awkward and oblivious to any social cues not written on a form. She's gotten better since then. Usually, she's the one that keeps the gang together. Now, she's tall and good-looking, and sounds like some sort of professional sort of announcer-ish, like, like a GPS or an on-board flight computer."
  84. >You raise an eyebrow at that description
  85. "You know, for what it's worth, I'd drive my fuel tank empty if you were my GPS."
  86. >She blushes violently and tries to hide behind her hair
  87. >You feel your cheeks reddening, but you can't run, can't hide
  88. >There's a looong, awkward silence
  89. >"Um...thanks"
  90. >What fo- ohh, right
  91. >...
  92. >Well that went better than you'd have dared hope
  93. "So...from what I gather, she's gotten really distant, yeah?"
  94. >"Mm. And all serious all the time and she's like all businesslike and has no time for anyone it seems."
  95. >Her shoulders slump a bit
  96. >"I...I know I can be annoying, and a bit clingy, but...that's just kind of how I express my love."
  97. >You blink
  98. "I'm not doubting you, but I just can't imagine you being annoying, and no more clingy than anyone else."
  99. >That's a slight lie
  100. >You could see her as kind of clingy
  101. >But not in a way you mind
