(this is all happening in a northern forest)


1.wolf and deer meet each-other as kids (deer saves wolf after traumatic experience... wolf's parents die, maybe deer dad)... become secret friends.


1.5. Throughout the story, brother deer talks of a better place, believing the birds, who say that there's a warmer place out there, a place where food is plentiful, and the winters are short and much easier to survive (not really far down, just into the temperate zone)


2.meet secretly growing up

* after some time the wolf-pack ends up hunting down Hachilac!!! Frantically Ajax decides to defend her, revealing the truth... prompting something similar to what's above... Reputation ruined, Ajax is now completely disrespected by the other wolves, separates from the pack
* let's say that the deer are much mobile than the wolves, not having den's
* he establishes his own den, getting visited by Hachilac every 1-3 days (she makes the excuse that the grass is juicier, everyone thinks that she's just a jackass leaving the safety of the herd like that)
* OR[kinda harder to do]: He could follow her herd, and see her every day (making the dilemma of hunting anyone that separates from her herd... putting their deaths in her hands... )


(Lots of fluffy stuff)

3.(they mostly grow up, deer brother is older, and the strongest in the herd, he starts leading)


3.5. most of the herd die, there is some sort of natural disaster that kills a few of them... (earthquake etc.) that leads deer brother to leading them straight into Ajax's former pack's territory (for geography reasons), right where they get ambushed by the pack, only a small percent (only like 20% or 10 deer left) of the herd survive this encounter


4."deer brother" runs off in grief, while emotionally unstable and weak, gets hunted/killed by Ajax (Ajax doesn't know that it's Hachilac's brother)


5.she frantically looks for her brother, cannot find him... thinks he ran off


6.Looks for wolf friend, goes to den... finds him covered in blood, chewing deer bones. She is unsuspicious of him eating the deer (has been explored previously, growing up... she normally avoids him while feeding)


7.Asks him to help find brother, he accepts... not knowing that he killed him


8. after a couple of hours of While they are searching for him, they run into the surviving remainder of the herd, who have established a new herd-leader (the second strongest to her brother)---- this requires her to reveal the truth


9. after she reveals the truth, the herd disowns her. they think that she's a traitor that worked with the wolves (in times of crisis, people require someone to blame)... the only reason that she was not attacked by them is the wolf is there defending her... they say that she killed her parents


10. this kicks off their adventure, Hachilac, losing her herd/family, having nothing to lose staying here, decides that he may have, in complete despair, shirked his duties (thinking himself unworthy) decided that the best course of action is to travel to this fabled "land of plenty" and start anew


11.Hachilac, having only Ajax and (she thinks) her brother left, abandons this place in search of her brother... Ajax, who has only had Asha for many years, (of course) is very willing and excited to go... but afraid for her safety

12. (they're going to face many challenges, face a lot of enemies, and question their morals and life choices... however, this draws them closer than ever... this makes it even more interesting when she finds out that Ajax killed her brother!


13. Ajax will need to protect her at near all times now that she's without a herd... this adds a whole new twist to predation, leaving her alone!

*this might be fun to play with, she could walk off, nearly get predded, then saved by Ajax at the last moment, where he tells her how much she means to him (They think that they're just friends... but we see through it ( even they're a little weirded out by the thought))


14. also, there could be a time where she saves him, she would have to make the choice between killing something, or her friend dying...


15. what could also happen is that the hungrier that he gets, the stronger his instincts get...

the internal battles could be epic... at some point, he will have to tell her how much his instincts are telling him to hurt her, and that he feels like a monster (which he will have to face throughout the story)... How should she react to this? Comfort him? have her own internal battles on how much she trust's him etc?
