  10. ------
  11. From the laat thead:
  12.
  13. K, more alternate gandered Charlie coming now.
  14.
  15. >You woke up feeling refreshed that morning despite the nightmare
  16. >You found Charlie hanging around the lobby and told her you were heading off
  17. >"Oh, but what about your friends? Aren't they still out there?"
  18. "They probably made it back to the hotel, if not I'll get the police to help find them."
  19. >"Fair enough, have a good trip then I guess."
  20. >She seemed pretty upset, but then again why wouldn't she be, probably gets lonely out here anyway.
  21. >Bit you didn't have time for that, you had to get going.
  22. >But as it turns out, last night's storm was a lot stronger than you expected.
  23. >Blocking the path you came by, was a couple of downed trees.
  24. >Any other way down would take forever, with the terrain being too steep to safely go down.
  25. >So you had no other choice but to head back to the hotel.
  26. >Once there you saw Charlie's face light up
  27. "Well the path's blocked, so."
  28. >She handed you back the keys to your room.
  29. >"There should be some people coming later who'll take care of that. I called in already, so in the meantime make yourself at home."
  30. >After unpacking you kind of just hung out in your room for an hour before boredom kicked in.
  31. -
  32. >gandered
  33. >Yep I'm retarded
  34.
  35. >You went back down to the lobby to talk with Charlie
  36. >You both talked about random shit again like the night before, it was fine, until...
  37. >"So Anon, what brought you out to Colorado?"
  38. "Vacation."
  39. >"Yeah, but what else was it? Call it a sixth sense or whatever, but usually people like you have more reasons to come out to these sorts of places."
  40. >She was onto you
  41. >"It's fine if you don't wanna talk about it, just you do you."
  42. "No actually your right, things weren't going to well back home."
  43. >And for whatever reason, you brought up what happened with you and your ex
  44. "Stacy and me dated for quite a bit, and, I don't know, she was cute."
  45. "But, a few months ago, I found out she was sleeping with another guy, I confronted her and we fought, we tried fixing things, but the tension was just killing me."
  46. >"And you two broke up?"
  47. "Yep, it hit me hard, so I though of coming out here with my pals to clear my mind you know?"
  48. >Charlie nodded
  49. >"Did she ever tell you what it was the other guy had that you didn't?"
  50. "Not really, and frankly I don't care."
  51. >Charlie gave you a reassuring pat and a smile
  52. >"Well whatever it was, it sure wasn't enough, cause if you ask me, you're not that bad of a guy Anon."
  53. >You swore she just flashed you bedrooms eyes just then, but you may have been seeing things.
  54. "T-Thanks Charlie."
  55. >You excused yourself and got up, and went back outside for some air.
  56. -
  57. >You decided to walk around for a bit and get to know the are a bit better.
  58. >After a little bit of walking you found an old garage near by.
  59. >Most of the walls were covered in vines, and the roof looked as if it would collapse if a butterfly landed on it.
  60. >The door was held shut by an old rusted lock.
  61. >However when you touched it the thing fell apart and landed on in mud due to its age and the elements.
  62. >Inside you found an old car which you believed to have been from the 60s
  63. >Surprisingly it was in good condition, hell, underneath the dust the paint still shinned.
  64. >Upon further inspection though, it was missing a battery, so no hope for any 60s-esque joyrides.
  65. >You though about bringing this up to Charlie later, perhaps she's got some kind of automation hobby?
  66. >But for now you decided to try and fix the problem with your TV and get some channels going through.
  67. -
  68. >Back in your room you began searching for that damn TV guide
  69. >There just had to be one somewhere.
  70. >You were currently brushing underneath a drawer for it, when your hand finally felt paper.
  71. "Jackpot"
  72. >You pulled it out
  73. >Only to find that it was a very old newspaper article.
  74. >The yellow paper nearly ripped from the pressure you put on it, which wasn't much.
  75. >The date, February 9, 1965, around the same age as the car.
  76. >The headline read:
  77. >"STANIC PANIC OVER IN CLIFFSIDE LODGE, DOZENS FOUND DEAD"
  78. >Your eyes widened as you began reading the article.
  79. >Apparently back in the 60s, a crazed grounds-keeper murdered over a dozen guests staying at the hotel, the police even found some of their remains in the garden.
  80. >But if that wasn't creepy enough, the fucker claimed he did it to "tear away the fabric of our reality, and open the gates to firery retribution", in other words, he wanted to open a portal to hell.
  81. >They found all kinds of occult related things in his shed and in the basement, where he said he commuted most of the murders.
  82. >You were pretty shocked to say the least.
  83. >You felt sick and your eyelids were like sandbags.
  84. >Quickly you went to the small kitchen area in your room and looked around the cabinets for some salt, the article had your mind racing at this point.
  85. >After sprinkling some near your bed you passed out on your bed.
  86. -
  87. >You woke up to the sunbeams in your eyes.
  88. >You're alarm clock read 7:37 AM
  89. >You slept through a whole day.
  90. >You nearly fell over trying to get up, and the headache you had didn't help.
  91. >As you made your way to the door, you tripped again, only to get caught by Charlie.
  92. >"Anon, what happened?"
  93. "I.......I'm not sure......."
  94. >Charlie had a chair pulled up within seconds and the two of you sat.
  95. "One minute I'm perfectly fine..........then I felt like pure shit....."
  96. >"Was it anything you ate? Oh god did I give you anything you're allergic to?"
  97. "No not that........it was after I read a newspaper-"
  98. >Which reminded you....
  99. "You chose a building with a pretty dark past you know."
  100. >Charlie pauses after you finished speaking before letting out a sigh.
  101. >"You heard didn't you?"
  102. "Satanic panic over in cliffside lodge?!"
  103. >She paused again
  104. >"Yeah, the original owners hired this random guy off the street to do yard work, and the next thing they know he's butchered a handful of their guests. It was all over the news for a while, my parents told me about it."
  105. "Why would you chose this place then?"
  106. >"It was pretty cheap, and also, I kinda wanted to give this place a second chance, In it's hay day, the lodge brought a lot of money to this town, after it shutdown we lost that money and people stopped coming here for quite a while, I heard a whole street of stores closed down."
  107. >Her smile was gone
  108. >"I wanted to help bring some joy to this town and with it the money, and if things go well here, then who knows how much profit I could turn in for my town."
  109. >A shaky smile replaced her frown.
  110. >"At least that's what Mom and Dad would've wanted......"
  111. >Shit, you could already feel yourself tearing up.
  112. >"So far, I've had to cash in a couple favors from some friends to help, they come at night to help with repairs and remodeling."
  113. "Like the car out back?"
  114. >"Yeah, that's actually a side project for one of my other friends, he has a thing for old cars."
  115. -
  116. "Are they here at the hotel? These friends of yours?"
  117. >"Only one, but he's more of a night owl. And he reeeeaaallly hates not getting his sleep".
  118. "Can I at least have a name?"
  119. >"Anthony, or as he likes to call himself, Angel Dust. You could say he's pretty flamboyant."
  120. "Oh.."
  121. >That brought some unwanted mental images.
  122. >"Hey so do you want anything? I could bring you some breakfast."
  123. "It's fine, I can get up."
  124. >But that was a lie, and Charlie saw through it.
  125. >"No, no I got it, your the guest here after all, and your still sick. I'll be back in a moment."
  126. >Sure enough, she returned with some toast and a sprite for your stomach (although you don't remember telling her you had one, even though you did have one) and the two of you began chatting again.
  127. >This time however, she seemed to get a bit closer to you.
  128. >You even found her hand close to your hand.
  129. >You were begin getting to think something was up with her, perhaps......
  130. >("No no, stop thinking with your dick") you told yourself. Besides if she really was trying to hit on you, then by now she would've said something instead of being subtle.
  131. >Soon enough Charlie left to run the hotel, and left you to yourself.
  132. >So you decided to take another walk.
  133. >This time beyond the tree, not that you intended on leaving, your friends we're still out there after all.
  134. >So you climbed past the tree and began to wander a bit.
  135. >The air was chilly and the wind nipped at your exposed skin, but you could take it, it wasn't the worst chill you've felt.
  136. >After an hour however, you found what looked like, a red tinted rock.
  137. >It quickly became a patch of red tinted rocks, then as you payed closer attention, a line....
  138. >Then, from under a tree, you saw the bottom of a shoe.
  139. >Which just so happened to be where the red tint came from.
  140. -
  141. >Horror spread throughout your body like a fire.
  142. >Slowly, ever so slowly, you crept over to the shoe.
  143. >And lifted the branches away.....
  144. >And then you screamed.......
  145. >You were face to face with your friend Peter.
  146. "P-P-Peter?"
  147. >There was no doubt about it, this was Peter
  148. >You knew that ginger anywhere. He even had that birthmark on his hand.
  149. >You last saw him two days ago on the hike, he went after James when he didn't come back from the piss break.
  150. >Now, he was dead. And it wasn't peaceful either
  151. >His chest was torn open, revealing a dark cut surrounded by dried blood.
  152. >His jaw was open as if he tried to scream.
  153. >But then you saw the leg,
  154. >Another dark cut ran down it
  155. >Just like in your nightmare.
  156. "Oh god, oh lord Jesus....."
  157. >You just realized that you witnessed the murder of one of your friends.
  158. >Which also meant that some smiley-faced freak is somewhere in these woods out for blood.
  159. >Static filled your ears
  160. >You looked around frantically, and out of the corner of your eye you saw a shadow amongst the trees.
  161. >It's eyes watched you like a hawk.
  162. >And its smile revealed rows of bloodied teeth, like shark teeth.
  163. >It vanished within moments, the static slowly faded too.
  164. >The run back to the hotel was fuzzy at best, you barely remembered a damn thing.
  165. >But you remember Charlie's wide eye look of fear as she saw you carrying your dead friend over your shoulder
  166. "Couldn't leave him.....he's my friend....."
  167. >"I understand........but he's dead..."
  168. -
  169. "I'm not leaving him out there with a psychopath......"
  170. >So, Charlie arranged for Peter's body to be kept in a room under a sheet, even if it mean having to burn the sheet afterwards.
  171. >You paced the lobby like a madman, looking around to make sure that freak wasn't staring at you through a window or something.
  172. >Charlie walked in and sat down
  173. >"I just contacted the authorities, they'll be here in a few days. The storm tore up the forest pretty badly, they're still removing debris from the path as we speak."
  174. "What about the thing I saw out there?"
  175. >"Anon are you sure you even saw this thing?"
  176. "I swear on my life I did, it was at least over 7ft tall, and that god awful smile too, was pure evil."
  177. >Charlie didn't say anything, you swore she uttered something like "Damnit Al"
  178. >"There isn't much we can do know, so please try to law low for a bit and stay calm."
  179. >Without much resistance you did just that. Charlie had a point, what could they do to this fucker anyway?
  180.
  181. That's all for now.
