  1. Concepts are <Running mushroom> <Frilled mushroom> <Clothes are part of the body>

  5. The monster girl of this post is the myconid, running mushroom monster! The myconid appeared relatively recent years. The origin of the myconid is not from mythologies, but the D&D. It is said that the origin of the word "myconid" comes from a prefix "Myco" meaning fungi. The Myconid is the active species in contradistinction to the matango, which is the passive mushroom monster.

  9. I designed her with the matango in mind to make a contrast with her. It did not take a long time. The matango used a roundish red mushroom with white spots as a motif. It is a design that often used in manga and video games. I thought to design the myconid based on a different mushroom, i.e., the frilled one. In contrast with the matango, which was drawn as a lady, I drew the myconid as a petite little girl.

  15. The matango does not often move, on the other hand, the myconid is the active species running around and not stopping. As you can see that there are a few differences between the matango and the myconid except active or not, they were divided from the same species in the course of evolution in the far past.

  17. As such, there were so many patterns of colors! I tried using the red same as the matango and the green, which comes from a 1-Up Mushroom because the matango looks like a Super Mushroom. In the end, I chose the purple-based color scheme.

  21. Her pose is running unsteadily and shaking her body as if about to fall. Her clothes are not actual clothes. These are the part of bodies that look like clothes. Her design is based on the frilled mushroom, so I placed frills on various places.
  22.
  23. The most appealing part is the long sleeve-like frills on her arms. The frills emphasize her cute and childlike impression, and I expect that these sleeves flutter when myconids are running.
  24.
  25. I tried to paint frills to look like not thin cloths, but slightly fleshy. Actually, myconids' frills are eatable. There is no sense of pain, and these can grow again after a while when being eaten. It is said that the frills on their arms are especially delicious!!

  29. At first glance, her boobs and crotch are exposed entirely, however; actually, these are hidden and covered by hypha, which has the same component of her skins. Please be kind for that these looks blushing and there is a line that looks like her crack because hypha is somewhat transparent.

  33. By the way, about the difference between myconids and matangos, matangos have a tendency that they have large and voluptuous bodies, probably because matangos save the energy by keeping still on the spot for waiting for a man. On the other hand, myconids, which use the energy to move around, have a tendency that they have small bodies in terms of movability and sustaining. However, they have large breasts. Of course, there are individual differences, they have a tendency that they have large boobs. Probably because they evolved to make a man comfortable when they cling to him, or perhaps their boobs serve a function absorbing shocks when they leap and cling to a man.
