  1. I corrected Shion’s words for Benimaru’s honor. In my opinion, if you don’t die, you win. In that regard, you could say that Benimaru won, though in reality, he just managed to keep the fight alive for as long as possible. If the fight had continued as it was, there was no doubt that Benimaru would have lost. Jahil was definitely a threat.
  2.
  3. “I see, so then Luminas-sama, who defeated such an opponent, is stronger than Benimaru!”
  4.
  5. That was it. I had been wondering about that too. No, actually, when comparing Luminas and Benimaru, I didn’t think there was that much of a difference in strength in my opinion. That’s why I had rushed to the scene thinking that Luminas and the others were in danger. I, too, wanted to hear about how Luminas fought off Jahil.
  6.
  7. “Oh, you mean that,” Luminas began to speak casually.
  8.
  9. “You know, I’ve had the experience of my city being destroyed by an evil dragon—”
  10.
  11. Badump?!
  12.
  13. I felt like I had heard this story somewhere…no, rather, I had received many complaints about it…
  14.
  15. “When building a city, the first priority is to ensure safety.”
  16.
  17. “I-I see. What an excellent idea…”
  18.
  19. My tone became unintentionally polite, but I had no hesitation in choosing flattery here. Luminas gave me a cold look, then continued the conversation as if she had calmed down a bit.
  20.
  21. “I had set up several layers of ‘Barriers’ to counter any evil dragons, and they worked well.”
  22.
  23. Now that she mentioned it, I remember that there were indeed many layers of ‘Defense Barriers’ in this sacred place. We had been allowed to pass, but no one suspicious could get through.
  24.
  25. “I didn’t expect him to be that powerful. Jahil had the power to overwhelm Benimaru, and he seemed able to control his Ultimate Skill. Well, not as much as Veldora, but I didn’t think a half-hearted ‘Barrier’ would work,” I expressed my true feelings.
  26.
  27. “Don’t underestimate me!” Luminas snickered. “Unlike other places, this is a sacred land where my believers gather. With an unlimited outpouring of faith, it is easy to repel Jahil’s power.”
  28.
  29. Her words were confident, and in fact, the results proved to be true. But was it really that easy?
