  1. Madison tries to give Diana what she wants. It isn’t necessarily humanity, but it is approachability and relatability. Another girl her age who has gone through her own share of trauma, Madison craves something ultimately sweet and wholesome and perfect, and believes Diana when Diana says she wants the same. It isn’t that Diana’s a liar so much as she gets a little more lost than Madison. Diana is still a good person, after all the blood.
  2.
  3. Forrest tries to give humanity, and asks humanity from Diana. She’s someone besides the Hunter who can see this monstrous side of him, who HAS to see him. He may not realize at first that he likes being so unabashedly honest with her, even as he tries to put up a strong human front.
  4.
  5. Each vampire is technically a monster who craves humanity - or rather, soft emotions and empathy.
  6.
  7. Forrest craves the idea of humanity, and wants humanity from Diana. Diana wants the same. They rely on each other to give a sense of “normalcy” that they used to have when Forrest was human and Diana was popular, even if they weren’t really happy in when they were younger. Forrest dislikes the cruel ambition vampires tend to use, as well as their disregard of other people. Diana likes his friendliness and his initial approachability - something only beaten by Madison after November.
  8.
  9. It’s not that Forrest denies that humans can be monstrous, but believes that people who are vampires/associate with demons tend to be people biting off more than they should and hurt many others in the process. No one man should hold all that power, basically.
  10.
  11.
  12.
  13. Sebastian is an outsider in a group full of outsiders, a defect even in a group of defects, someone who is explicitly not supposed to exist. He is one of the only (or only) vampire selected by an angel on what can only be assumed is a whim, with no placement in a greater plan.
  14. Similar to Yvonne: Taking backseat roles to the action. Her as a sponsor, him as handling film. Flair for drama. Snootiness.
  15. Difference to Yvonne: Less cruel, less romanticism and appreciation for small and petty things (smaller than the arts, that is.) He has less power and wants less power. He’d be the cavalier to her lord. He has been the cavalier to a lord.
  16. Similar to Forrest: Secretly as snooty as Yvonne, strong sense of justice.
  17. Difference from Forrest: Less pretense of vampirism. Less concern about what he will become as a monster, and more as a human.
  18. Similar to Madison: Fought to survive and found themselves aimless afterwards
  19. Difference from Madison: She’s too sure of her path with little diversity, he’s spread so thin he’s not sure what he’s doing.
  20. Similar to Everard: Has a “black vile” cynicism and snark. Pessimistic. Dances closer to brutality than the other love interests.
  21. Difference from Everard: Still looking for his calling, not much of a fatherly type (yet), interest in the softer arts, has less love for the brutality - the sheer visceral act of violence
  22. Similar to Charlotte: Appreciation of the arts, complicated relationships with violence
  23. Difference to Charlotte: Would never want to turn back time, let alone kill someone for it. Much more content with his lot in life at the end of the day. Less fatalistic.
  24.
  25. Diana goes hunting for a book for one of her classes (English) and gets pointed in a bookstore, finds out it’s Sebs and she immediately tries to establish dominance. Adds vampire books to her order, Sebastian rolls eyes and says she has shit taste, gives her recommendation.
  26. She comes back later to thank for the reccomendation, this creates more loop. They talk about appeal of vampires and the bites and why they’re hot, offers to show her wink wonk.
  27. One day she finds Galatenya OR she brings a treat for galatenya. More bonding.
  28. Likely a scene where she officially is told that she can study there in privacy/peace as long as she’s quiet and he lets her chill. Cozy companionship. Maybe asked favor by Madi bc her bite doesn’t want to stay at her apartment and go to Madi’s dorm bc it’s closer or smth.
  29. Likely another scene or same scene where she stays extra late/waiting to crash at Robin’s and he gives her a drink and stuff. Ultra trust in bookstore. They also move to movies after a couple scenes maybe, and we see him go hardcore.
  30. Cue the Ex at christmas, Seb is tilted but only a little.
  31. Circle stuff proceeds and Diana struggles, makes friends with Catherine to have friends besides vampires. Seb gets gentle reminder of her life outside bookstore/student stuff and also is considering asking Catherine for help with magic stuff. It’s not apparent that he’s suspicious of Cath existing in general. Cath maybe like “oh ur vids!! So good!” as a preface.
  32. They watch movies and do DND and be tendy, Di is relieved when she finds out ex is an ex. Also student film shenanigans. Locked in the same room while hiding from authorities. Yay!
  33. Route lock, Di asks for him to show her about the whole hot vampire bite thing. He proceeds. There’s a forehead kiss in there that leads to bickering bc blood on skin bad, it’s cute.
  34. Spring Break!! Diana Kisses and Establishes Dominance. Madi wingmans.
  35. Everything goes to shit, and Sebastian decides it’s dire enough to gently inquire to Di how to contact Catherine. Diana feels more paranoia as she didn’t realize that something was going on and feels even more in the dark. She also goes to prepare herself to kill Charlotte. Sebastian gives her a sendoff and even gives small affirmation through advice on how to hurt/kill (in combo with what hunter taught in self defence - hunter taught self defence, seb teaches to kill)
  36. Di almost dies. Di asks out of curiosity if he knew she could’ve died, and more importantly if he would’ve care. Of course he cares (romance route or not). If they’re dating it probs goes slightly diff. Di is probs a lil put off even if she understands his reasoning, while he’s trying to do right while still feeling bad.
  37. Di is chewed out by friends and makes up, still needs to finish student film. She talks to Seb, they tendy again.
  38. Cute ending, cute ending!
  39.
  40.
  41.
  42. Forrest is the most approachable so he should be the first approached at Halloween.
  43. Sebastian’s introduction is him stealing Charlotte’s demo scene: being chill and playing with the cat. Diana wants to chill down with said cat but Eve (the cat) takes some coaxing. They talk a bit about horror movies before Eve trots away and Di chases after it, maybe as a pickup excuse as they go cat hunting, maybe bumps into Madi.
  44. Madison for last?
  45.
  46. Diana gets lucky with one of the vampires and just goes to the bathroo
