DOPPLERALYPSE PART ONE skylerfrank gting 7dedisins

<DopplerDM>: It is night time over at the S-Men Academy, all the good little boys and girls asleep in their rooms. All except for the special few tonight. Tonight is the night that Reverb was notified of a signal from the lost s-man in the woods, and they gather by the forest to investigate.

Skyler is waiting by the woods, suffering through wearing a big puffy coat to keep the heat out
Reverb stands at the edge of the forest, eyes shut, listening intently.

<DopplerDM>: Her listening is quickly rewarded, a message from the very same Tony is sent specifically to her phone as if to taunt her and leaving an obvious trail to the source.

<Reverb>: "Hmm."
<Reverb>: "I've got him locked."
<Skyler>: "We're probably heading into a death trap, aren't we."
<Reverb>: "He's very clearly taunting us."
<Skyler>: "And it's safe to assume he can hear - well, /see/ - us coming already. But it's our only shot."

Skyler begins trudging into the forest
Reverb walks into the forest, following the path to the source.
<Reverb>: "Right, he... isn't moving. He's waiting."
<Skyler>: "Maybe he died."

<DopplerDM>: As the two begin to trudge forward Reverb can start to hear a bit of interference. Some kind of signal but mostly white noise coming from above. Its impossible to tell what's making it but the trail is still clear enough.
<Reverb>: "No, he's alive. But... fuck, something is muddling the signal. I'm worried that it's deliberate."
<Skyler>: "It probably is. But if he wanted us dead he'd have finished the job on you when you last fought."

Skyler looks around absentmindedly as they walk
<Skyler>: "Or he's planning to lure even more of us out here so he can take out a larger number of people at once, using you as bait."
<Reverb>: "No, I think then, the entity was more focused on living. Now, it wants to take people out."

<DopplerDM>: Skyler can notice around them that the path there is very sparse on trees and there's numerous stumps making a clearing. Reverb remembers this as the blast zone of the sound attack.

<Reverb>: "Ugh, the signal is getting too static-filled to make out clearly."
<Skyler>: "So you're telling me we're now stranded out here with no clear direction in sight."
<Reverb>: "Not exactly. I can likely use the signal quality to determine distance from the edge of the forest."
<Reverb>: "But to actually find Tony... that's another matter."
<Skyler>: "Either way, this is now when an ambush would happen. Put your guard up."
<Reverb>: "I've always got it up."
<Skyler>: "Right."
Skyler looks around for anything of note

<DopplerDM>: Soon enough they can see a figure sitting on one of the stumps, throwing around the phone between its hands. The signal is getting absolutely dismal to listen to and the interference seems to be intensifying. It doesn't seem to be Tony, though. Its arms expand out to wing like fans that are longer than its body.

<DopplerDM>: From what you can tell, besides the arms moving, the figure is completely asleep.

Skyler nudges Reverb and points to the figure
<Reverb>: "...jesus, what is that thing..." she mutters, looking at it carefully.
<Skyler>: "Alseep."
<Reverb>: "I'd be skeptical of that, just for now."

<DopplerDM>: Upon closer inspection, the arms and armor around its body seem to be made out of bone of some sort, acting like a shell. The figure doesn't seem to notice them as it passes the phone between its alien hands
<Skyler>: "So are we gonna kill it, or what?"
<Reverb>: "...those hands, we need to be careful. They can act independent of him."

<DopplerDM>: The interference, though, is intensifying fast. Reverb can tell something is coming from above
<Reverb>: "And they loo- move!"
Reverb grabs Skyler and moves from the area, looking up at the sky.
Skyler lets himself get picked up, following Reverb's gaze upwards

<DopplerDM>: The second she looks up she is greeted with a strange sight. Looks like a shooting star at first but as it gets closer they see several massive balls of reddish flesh falling down from the sky.
<Reverb>: "Not good not good!"
<Skyler>: "Should have brought more people..."

<DopplerDM>: Had they not moved they would have been crushed as three fall into the clearing, kicking up dirt and snow while making craters. The man with the arms doesn't seem to wake up
<DopplerDM>: His arms, though, immediately stand up and begin to walk its host away from them into the forest like a strange gorilla.

<Skyler>: "For the record, does any of these even resemble what had to do with Doppler? Or are we just dealing with a bunch of aliens that stole his phone?"
<Reverb>: "...are we... chasing that thing?"
<Reverb>: "The red flesh, that's a familiar sight."
<Skyler>: "Good enough for me. I'll chase sleepyhead, you're the better equipped of us to kill flesh meteors."

<DopplerDM>: The largest of the masses of flesh begins to unfurl itself, standing at 30 feet high as a twisted skinless cyclops with a toothy grin.

<Skyler>: "...Yyyyyup."
<Reverb>: "Try not to die, okay?"
<Skyler>: "If you would be as kind as to give me, like... a crystal sword, and a crystal bobsled, and throw me over at him."
Reverb nods, forming a sword in just a second. She kicks up the bobsled as it forms, handing it to Skyler.
Skyler takes the sword and kicks the bobsled down to sit on it
<Skyler>: "Kick me off?"

<DopplerDM>: The cyclops looks around, resembling a child taking in new sights. It makes a few steps, testing out its ability to walk and making thumps in the earth
<Reverb>: "Sure, let me get a good run in."
Skyler smiles nervously at the sight of a giant walking around, then looks back to Reverb
Reverb take a couple steps back, and runs forward, kicking the sled with all her might.

<DopplerDM>: The arm man continues to slowly hobble off, taking its time without a real care in the world
Skyler flies forward on the bobsled and at Mr Sleepyhead

<DopplerDM>: Sleepyhead doesn't take any notice, walking wide open for a hit. The cyclops has noticed Reverb, fumbling a few steps toward her with curiosity
Skyler jumps off the bobsled as it gets close and swings with all his might, aiming to cleave him in two at the torso
Reverb starts to climb up a tree, holding a sword between her teeth.

<DopplerDM>: The blade goes into Sleepyhead's back stopping at the spine and getting lodged. He is still asleep. The arms, though, are angry now. One spins around to whack Skyler.
<DopplerDM>: The giant crouches down, watching Reverb climb the tree
Skyler rips the sword out as he yells an obscenity, ducking under the arm
Reverb reaches a branch, stepping onto it and looking at the giant, still holding the blade between her teeth.

<DopplerDM>: The giant gives an amused laugh then stretches back up. Then all at once it swipes its massive claw at the tree, cutting it in two
<DopplerDM>: Sleepyhead's arms are deadly quick, storming across the snow to leap at him with the edge of one of the arms, sharp as a knife

Skyler raises his sword to block the blade
Reverb jumps forward, grabbing onto the giant's arm.

<DopplerDM>: Sparks fly as the two blades collide, sleepy coils back then tries to wrap one of its arms around Skyler in an attempt to constrict him.
<DopplerDM>: The giant watches her, apparently still thinking its a game

Reverb begins to climb up the creature's arm.
Skyler thanks heavens he was forced to wear such a loose slutty jacket. He raises his arms and flips down and out of it as the coils take it instead of him.
Skyler quickly runs over to slash at the front of sleepyhead's neck

<DopplerDM>: The giant opens its giant toothy maw, revealing that it doesn't have a throat. Its mouth only seems to exist to chew things. It bends over and tries to do just that to reverb
<DopplerDM>: Sleepyhead leaps back before the blade can reach there. Skyler can notice that the back wound from before has mostly healed.
<DopplerDM>: Sleepyhead did mumble in his sleep, though.
<Skyler>: "Oh, you don't like that, huh."
Reverb grabs the sword out of her mouth and raises it up, forcing it to lengthen suddenly, piercing the roof of the giant's mouth.

<DopplerDM>: The giant lets out a screech, the top of its mouth being cut wide open
<DopplerDM>: Sleepy spins around, the arms twirling like sharp helicopter blades at skyler
Skyler shivers some without his coat, wearing a long sleeved shirt under his coat. He dives forward and downwards, and tries cutting at sleepyhead's ankles
Reverb then lengthens the other end, piercing right through the giant's mouth and through its chin.

<DopplerDM>: The giant brings its claws up to its face, trying to rip Reverb out of him as she continues to cut him.
Reverb leaps out of reach, climbing her way up to the beast's shoulder.

<DopplerDM>: Sleepy gets hit at one ankle, the foot coming clean off. The arms crack for a moment as Sleepy stirs slightly, but once he stops the arms repair themselves
<DopplerDM>: The giant is too preoccupied trying to deal with the massive spike in its head to notice her
Skyler uses the repair period to continue slashing at the poor guy's legs

Reverb feels around, looking for where the shoulder joint would be. She forms a sword in her hand, stabbing it down onto that point.
Skyler is just lying in the ground in the snow, stabbing at this guy

<DopplerDM>: He manages to make a gash along another leg, getting another stir from him. The arms are quick to slap Skyler away before he can do more damage.
Skyler is flung away, grunting as he falls down on the ground
<DopplerDM>: The giant convulses around, trying everything in its power to get rid of her

<Skyler>: "Goddamnit... What even is this!? WAKE UP, DAMNIT!"
