The mighty fortress of Coppermead, carved from the side of a mountain over top of a stream, is a towering bastion of power in the young country of Okarthel. Founded by an Okarthelan prince named Damhàn and his young bride Hinata, the fortress was built of stone and steel, enforced with black obsidian of the highest quality, the towering fort took nearly ten years to come to completion, and stood as the shining pinnacle of strongholds for centuries to come, all Okarthelan fortresses after it aspiring to its ambitious design.

Prince Damhàn had his eye on something, though - the reason he chose that place for his fortress. A colony of dragons nested in a nearby mountain range, and he wanted their power for his people, but the monsters were impossible to train. So Damhàn had an idea - he built a special set of pens in a nearby valley, captured young dragons, and kept them in the pens, carefully breeding them to be more manageable and tame, breeding in some of the smaller and more maniagable Drakes into the bloodline to create Muscadrakes, small draconic creatures that combine the magic and majesty of dragons with the compact size and tameability of Drakes. Muscadrakes have since become an important part of the lives of Coppermead's people.
