  1. [16:14] Settled into the heart of the Messaris Market Claude couldn't help but muse about his troubles. Why was it that he'd so much difficulty connecting to his star? Others of lesser birth had done so with far more ease. Was it a flaw within himself perhaps, something he had done that would weaken himself in the eyes of the Hiero star?
  2.
  3. Claude stood from his spot, turning his attention towards the great towers of the Imperial Academy. That was where he felt most in tune with himself, that was the closes thing to a true home he's ever had. When he felt his legs moving and saw those towers growing larger he didn't have to second guess himself.
  4.
  5. It took him half an hour to get across the city. Yet, once he'd arrived he wasn't disappointed. Of course the place was empty and barren as it had been since renovations began. It was child play to sneak past the guards on the outside of the walls. Sliding into the Academy's courtyard andmoving to take a spot overlooking the small lake on those grounds.
  6.
  7. It wasn't as still as the one in the Park. A oddity considering the change of populous around it. Perhaps that's why he'd came here, it was less clear as his own mind was. The grass was soft as he kneeled down into it. Golden hues looking into waters that reflected a troubled soul.
  8.
  9. Yet, it was not himself that he looked for. No it was the stars above, he was sure that one of them would attune to him if he just. Let go, the Nobleman for once in his short life stopped worrying about others. Simply focusing upon the here and the now. This moment as opposed to the next.
  10.
  11. Into the pond he looked, the waters where a tumultuous as one could be. Yet, he persevered his mind looking not to the constellation of Leonaus but elsewhere. He'd spent so much time focusing upon one part of the sky. Perhaps that was his problem? Had he allowed the divination at birth to cloud his mind?
  12.
  13. With that thought he'd search the sky, looking through the stars for the one that called to him. Over the constellation's his eyes traveled, through the cosmos he hurtled. From star to shining star he felt his pulse quicken as his gaze hastened. He could feel it, something different. Something welcoming to him.
  14.
  15. That's when he saw it, the great constellation that the pulse of rightness came from. Ophiuchi, the Serpent Holder, for a moment hesitation kept him from looking closer to the great constellation. Was he to be known as a collector of serpents? Was that his fate amid the celestials?
  16.
  17. Yet, even as his mind doubted he was wrangled towards the brightest star within the great constellation. His mind went blank as he felt the hissing whisper of Rasalhague! The head of the serpent charmer. It's soft spoken words dug into the man's brain.
  18.
  19. Was this not the perfect star for his sould to reside? He Claude collected serpents as if they where a sport already. From killers in full-plate to cut-throats amid the streets. Was he not meant to wrangle the deadly beasts of the earth and subdue them as a great mind?
  20.
  21. Turmoil slowly gave way to calm, slowly shifting towards peace as he did so. His eyes closed, opening again as serpentine slits to look into the water below. His reflection as crystal clear. The thrum of Rasalhague pules in his breast as he offered a devilish smirk to his true self.
  22.
  23. Claude, chosen of the Serpent Holder.
  24. (Claude vey Pelleaux)
