  1. Stock Planets Rekerjiggered Mod Family Roadmap

  3. * General Goal:

  5. SPR: Preserve the stock system while increasing the visual fidelity of the mod, bringing its visuals in-line with the general style of my other planet packs (Whirligig World and Alternis Kerbol Rekerjiggered).
  6. DADA: DiverseAndDenseAsteroids. Add realistic asteroid distributions with realistic densities. (ARM asteroids)
  7. SSMP: Stock System Minor Planets: Adds new minor planets and dwarf planets to the Kerbol system. Possibly also new minor moons. Up to 15 or so new bodies.
  8. SPR-Mover and Shaker: Move celestial bodies to be more realistic while preserving the overall system design, and preserving those parts of the system which are alien and unlike RSS. Rescale the kerbal solar system from approximately 1/11th scale to 1/10th scale in accordance with all other stock planet mods. System should be stable in Principia, and I'd also like to have axial tilts.
  9. OPM-R: Revamp the visual appearance of Outer Planets Mod and adjust its physical properties to be more realistic. System should be stable in Principia, and I'd also like to have axial tilts. I might also like to add some new satellites, particularly to Sarnus, but Urlum, Neidon, and Plock are all fair game.

  11. SPR: Specific Goals:

  13. Sun: Scale down to true 1/11th scale analogue of the real Sun (finished). Tweak sun visual settings and sunspot texture.

  15. Moho: Higher definition map, procedural craters, more heightmap craters, and maybe a thin sub-martian atmosphere? Might also experiment with a more gray or at least more varied texture.

  17. Eve: Grayer terrain colored purple by atmosphere. Redesigned seas. Hydrocarbons? Tar? Metallic mud? Definitely not Pepto-Bismol as currently in stock!!

  19. Gilly: Improve normal map. (Requires manual mapmaxheight setting!) Add new detail in a heightmap? Or in procedural pqs?

  21. Kerbin: Nah kerbin's perfect as is.
  22.  
  23. Mun: Fix really bad default craters on heightmap, improve custom nearside flattening feature.
  24.  
  25. Minmus: The one body I intend to totally redesign. Picture something like Ceres or Vesta, but lumpier, and with the color scheme of OPM's Polta.

  27. Duna: Currently very nice (compared to stock at least) but it would be nice to add more varied terrain, and maybe a nice very tall volcano mountain a la Olympus Mons? There may be places where I could add back Duna's existing lumpy terrain for some variety on top of the Duna Restoration Project style dunes.

  29. Ike: Pretty much finished yeah.

  31. Dres: Procedural craters?

  33. Jool: Pretty much finished. MAYBE I could work in more detail onto the map, but for the most part it's good to go!

  35. Laythe: Add many little volcanic islands.

  37. Vall: Another very heavily remakable body, to a lesser extent than Minmus. I'm imagining putting cracks through all of Vall's mountain-ridges, making it mostly pale blue except for within those cracks. Something like a hybrid of Vall and Eeloo.

  39. Tylo: Procedural craters and a better heightmap (or at least better integration of the existing heightmap).
  40.  
  41. Bop: Reduce lump size a bit, change up the shape. The closest thing to a Bop analogue that we've got good pictures of is Saturn's Phoebe, so I'd aim for something like that.

  43. Pol: Darken texture somewhat, give it a triaxial ellipsoid shape like Gilly, and deep craters like those which are found on Hyperion. Maybe add some normal boulders among Pol's spikeybois.

  45. Eeloo: Not sure what to do here. I might add some more, smaller-detailed cracks, and/or make the existing cracks thinner and more Europan. Some regions might have more craters, and perhaps there is a nicer color scheme I can find for it.

  47. All: Realistic atmospheres thanks to our dear friend OhioBob.

  50. Mover and Shaker: Specific Goals:

  52. All: Planetary orbits (and Kerbin and Sun) scaled from 1/11th to 1/10th scale. Increase realistic randomness of orbits, everything has some inclination and eccentricity.

  54. Principia: Stable orbits and RSS-analogue axial tilts.
  55.  
  56. Dres: I kind of liked CaptRobau's Inner Planets Mod and the rings and oblatness given to Dres. Perhaps I'll spin it up like I always wanted to do for Jumbo32, with some oblateness. Nothing like Mesbin from WW, but enough to make a noticeable difference between equatorial and polar gravity.

  58. Jool: Scaled up to be heavier than a Jupiter analogue, in an as-yet untested attempt to stabilize Jool's three laplace moons.
  59.  
  60. Laythe, Vall, and Tylo: These orbits must be stable in principia, but their orbits must also be plausible and it'd be real nice if they'd also be predictable. So no golden dissonance orbits, and preferably resonant 1:2:4 orbits. I don't want to change any of these moon's masses, and I don't want Jool to get *too* massive--we'll have to see how this turns out. I seem to remember testing Jool's moons with a heavier Jool and it worked before, but the moons may have been much less massive in that test.

  62. Outer Planets Rekerjiggered: Specific Goals:

  64. All: Fix orbits to be more realistic or more interesting, depending upon whether it suits me. Designed to be used with SPR-Mover and Shaker.

  66. Giants: Change masses and radii to resemble their real world analogues instead of Jool-scaled analogues. (God, really, half a gee on Urlum? Really?). Also give them new textures. (And maybe new biome maps as well)
  67.  
  68. Eeloo: Move back to 3:2 Jool resonant orbit (if I can get it stable over playable timescales, otherwise move it to be a trans-neidon object). Replace OPM-Eeloo with a new body. Perhaps something cobbled together from a rekerjiggered Eeloo's heightmap and the OPM craters.
  69.  
  70. Slate: Downscale. A lot. (Or move to far beyond Tekto) Maybe restore a thin atmosphere?
  71.  
  72. Tekto: Better default atmospheric visuals.
  73.  
  74. Polta and Priax: Downscale to fit better with the small scale of Uranus' moons.
  75.  
  76. Wal: Ditto?
  77.  
  78. New bodies: Three small round icibois for Sarnus. Two new brown round icybois for Urlum. Two minor moons for Urlum (inner system and outer system). A small inner moon for Neidon. Two small minor moons for Plock and Karen.

  114. 136108 Inad: Rapidly rotating triaxial ellipsoid dwarf planet. The ends of the equator is just below orbital velocity. Poles are under 0.15 gee. Perhaps there is a moon (Nimak) in a 1:1 orbit just above the short side of the equator, if that would even fit.
