  4. Skills and knowledge that a film editor needs, first would be a photogenic eye to be able to adjust angles and special effects of the project you are editing. You must also have the knowledge in the criteria of the editing equipment, and the changes that your equipment might undergo, such as upgrades to more advance technology. Knowing the programs you are working with is one of the most important keys to knowledge in the film editing industry, you must know what you are doing and how to do it at all times so that you are able to perform the task given at hand. As well you must be able to work well with others, since the film industry as a whole will require you to work well with writers, producers, and even directors. You must also be able to see how other people see the film in their eyes, being a film editor you may feel the need to take charge of your editing skills and put the creativity of your mind to work, but to do this you must also see it from directors eyes and work in his vision for the film as well.

Furthermore, film editing is a major hobby of mine and for my career path in film editing I would love for my career to be editing movies and trailers, and working with the special effects that they use. I fit into the majority of the skills it takes to become a film editor, and I see myself having a high potential to make it in the film industry. I have strong interpersonal skills that will also help me to achieve working with others, and getting the job done on time. I also have the knowledge on how new technology works, and I am a quick learner. Just these skills alone are very important to have when working in the film editing business, without them it would be hard for you to be able to kick start your new career in the film industry.
