  6. I like this song quite a lot. It's very present.

  8. I heard somebody recently discussing "final revelations" -- breakthroughs in understanding that allow us to finally reach 'truth'.
  9. slippy
  10. Buddhism, largely, does not support having "final revelations".
  11. slippy
  12. Because "final revelations" are generally coping devices for a suffering we've struggled to dissolve and it represents a proclamation that we shall not error in that way any longer, for, finally, we have found truth.
  13. slippy
  14. I think this song stands as powerful counterpoint to that entire approach.
  15. slippy
  16. It doesn't attempt to assert anything. It's just an exploration in the moment for a brief period of time.
  17. slippy
  18. When we can sit, listening to rain, enjoying an exploration, needing no decisive things, then we have achieved tranquility.
  19. slippy
  20. The meaning of a human life is equivalent to the sound of rain falling -- no more, no less.

  25. That notion is deeply congruent with Alan Watts' teaching to see yourself as part of the universe with no separation, rather than 'in' the universe, as many Westerners feel.

  29. Sometimes, when the universe happens, it 'rains'.
  30. slippy
  31. Other times, when the universe happens, it 'peoples'.
  32. slippy
  33. It's funny to think of our entire life as a rain drop falling.
  34. slippy
  35. Think of all the things that we've stressed about and been unhappy about.
  36. Kestlah
  37. No
  38. slippy
  39. All the plans and ideas we've had about how things are 'supposed to be'.
  40. slippy
  41. But we were always just a drop of rain falling.
  42. Kestlah
  43. Shut your pie hole.
  44. slippy
  45. That makes me profoundly happy.

  48. When you perceive the universe as 'raining' over there, and 'peopling' over here, you realize you're the universe.
  49. slippy
  50. You can look down at your body and see the fabric of the universe has turned, in a little environment, into a thing called 'you'.
  51. 20:34 slippy
  52. It currently has that shape and a lot of big ideas about what it is, hehe.
  53. slippy
  54. The rain is you, too.
  55. slippy
  56. Part of yourself is falling, other parts of you have the ability to be self-aware and look at the falling parts of you.

  59. When the person dies, the universe just reshapes itself into something different.

  62. I forgot Kestlah is me.
  63. slippy
  64. I remember now.
  65. slippy leans in and kisses Kestlah on their forehead
