Heine clicked his tongue as he inspected the end of his spear.
It was gone. The beast’s claws hadn’t been aiming for Heine, they had struck out against the spear. The hardness of the spear was far beyond that of his armor. There was no doubt that the abilities of the beast were far above what they were at their last meeting.
The shadow backed away, as if laughing.
How’s that? That’s how easily I can tear apart your armor.

Without a word, Heine waved his spear. The pure metal shaft became slightly shorter as a blade reformed on the tip.
